Hey guys, mistake at 5:24 when I captioned one side of my face as “Bare Skin”. I have concealer on already! It’s an error of habit cos I usually do coverage checks for liquid foundations without concealer on!
I love the idea of this, but I would probably use it as a setting powder over a powder foundation. Its kind of genius, loose powders set makeup so much better in my opinion. Once again, thank you for your amazing review!
Yeah, I really prefer loose powder in most cases! Even for touching up, because our skin is moist or slightly oily then, and loose powder does a great job of setting the makeup once again without adding a load of extra pigment. It's just hard to bring a puff and loose powder container out LOL. Now I totally would.
Unfortunately no! I tried. I'm sure you could pry it open but it would take quite a bit of effort and some tools, and a slight risk of damaging the container. But I might try after I finish mine cos I want to refill it with other powders too!! LOL.
I had a similar one (not as cute of packaging but still a loose powder) by MakeUpForEver and when it finished i got some samples and carefully dropped them on the mesh so they would go inside 😂 slowly and carefully it worked!
Hi, and thanks for a great review! I like how you deliver the information, very comprehensive and helpfull! Also- love you haircut and color! Big hugs from Norway!
Nice video, I like the way your skin looks with cushion. I have combination skin with oily T-zone area and I am fair with freckles. Which is better to use for a natural medium builtable coverage after my daily skincare for every season? Diorskin Forever Extreme Control or Cushion? I like to wear it once and forget about it the entire day, I don't like to feel caky. I like to have a uniform color tone. I am also used to apply powder with a powder brush and I wonder if Diorskin Forever Extreme Control comes in a lighter hand with a powder brush so that in case I need to touch up during the day to be just in light hand with the compact sponge. I would appreciate your opinion. Thank you so much.
Hahahaha so true Sammy, it is TOTALLY a splurge product only. Not a necessity. Yeah, I'm a stickler about my puffs and brushes so I know what you mean! I don't usually use the one in the compact to set makeup if I can help it. It doesn't grab much muck when used just for touchups, after blotting off any oil first, and I rotate it with other puffs so I can wash and dry them every few days. (OCD much...) I can't stand the thought of reapplying old dirt, oils and bacteria back on the face LOL.
Hai, thanks for deep explanation, but sadly the powder couldn't refill right?how about other kind of Dior powder, is there anything item can refill like the Dior cushion?
Unfortunately not at the moment for Dior, Kunti! I hope they will launch one soon since they already launched refillable lipsticks this year. Think many more customers prefer not to throw away cases and buy cheaper refills!
I bought this primer ,I am dry skin . Today I tried only use this and a lipstick to go out to cinema for about 6hours . I think the primer itself works well , if we don't need to cosmetic ,one layer of primer is acceptable to go out .. my skintone is close to the primer ,after I use it ,looks nothing .. so I think I can also use it for spf20 fuction
1.it seems dark circle concealer brings dry vision hours later .. so far I haven't met a perfect product . 2. you do really like Dior ,hhh . 3. feedback :just got my Chanel 836 weeks ago . I tried with bare skin (at home) , I think that was "too purple " ,so does not match my yellow tone . Later ,as I don't want to give it up so quickly , I used 1time while I was out ,with cosmetics , it is better on selfie than I see myself in the mirror .. but I found as I use yellow/brown tones eyeshadow or blusher , to match 836 is a little bit difficult to me . ( pink blush was hard on me so far ) As , 836actually matches Chanel red tone blush itself , I forgot that :((( Do you have any recommendations to my situation ? thanks
Hi Xue Yu, 1. I haven't experienced this! It sounds like you may have dry corneas or maybe you are applying your concealer too close to the eye line, which can cause makeup to bleed in when you tear or sweat. Very hard to tell what is causing the issue but I suggest only covering the eye circle/bag area and not going too high, and see if this helps. 2. Hahaha I have a weak spot for the brand; it was the first luxury brand I really fell in love with in my late teens. 3. 836 is a deep rose-red (cool toned), and what you are describing sounds like you have very warm skin (yellow/gold tones) and wear warm eye and cheek makeup all the time. I would suggest continuing to use brown tones, but find the more "neutral" shades. Skip the yellow gold orange colors, and only use the darkest brown and the pale beige/ivory. Also, you are right - a red-pink blush will match it perfectly and with normal lipsticks you can dab the lipstick on your cheeks as a blush to match the color, but liquid stains are harder to blend evenly. Have you tried a pink blush with this lipstick already, or do you mean it's hard for you when you used it before, on its own? If you haven't tried them together, I suggest trying that first. The other tip is - you may have to wear 836 opaque. A sheer layer makes the pink/rose more obvious, so don't wear it transparent; do a double-layer and see if that helps!
I forgot one last tip! If you have an orange-red lip liner, you can apply a small amount as a base before applying the Chanel. It will cut the cool tones a little bit and create a different look. But test first to see if you like the combined color, before going out.
@@IamCandiceKC thank you very much ! ( sorry so long to replay , I'm not always here ) I will try . ps: to the 1st respond reason ,yes ,I think maybe too close eye line , so that was the reason! ( enlighten )
May I know your shade in MAC? I'm in NC20-25 , and in between to choose dior powder cushion shade Fair or light. Afraid its gonna too white or to dark. Thx in advanced
Hi sweetie, I think Light would be good! the powder is a bit lighter looking than their powder foundation shades would be and even though it's transparent, the Fair might still go on a bit ashy.
Hahahaha yeah it is pricey, that's for sure. (I console myself with the thought that it takes ages to finish loose powders... but that's just an excuse LOL.)
Hi Cin Yung, sadly it is not. I wish it was! It's really like other loose powders where you finish it and throw it away. (The mesh lid is POSSIBLE to pry open but it's very very tight. If you want to refill it with a different powder and you don't break the mesh lid when you pry it off, you may be able to reuse the compact itself.)
Hi Tammy, on its own the powder and the powder+primer are fine. The powder itself does contain a small amount of soothing extracts and doesn't really pull much moisture out of the skin (in my experience) although it won't add moisture in either. If you use good skincare to prep before the makeup you should be fine! Like most powders, I still wouldn't cake on the powder all around the crows' feet area just cos it's not the most flattering there. A very light amount is fine.
Dang, thanks for letting me know; I didn't realize that!! I saw they released a new liquid foundation in some markets which isn't available here in Asia either. Hope they're not going the route of having more and more region-only releases... that would be such a bummer. :/

Great review but very expensive and the cushion packaging looks lovely but I think would look a bit mucky looking if any makeup gets on it, 💕
