You are right Andre Rieu always gives young talent a chance. Mirusia's aunt sent a recording of Mirusia to Andre Rieu. After that Andre called Mirusia in Australia. She tought it was a prank call at first. Few days later she was on the plane to audition for Andre. Andre always picks a couple of famous songs of the country he performs in like this song I Am Australian. I have heard aussies say they would like this song to be their national anthem. Andre also does some other fun things during a show. Like having the audience do the Macarena dance with the famous singers of the Macarena. Or they play music of the bull fighters in Spain and then they have a fake bull with people in it run after a lady in a red dress through the audience. He also invited David Hasselhof to come sing in The Netherlands and then they drove the Knight Rider car on stage. He also invited one of Michael Jackson's brothers to sing on stage and he played a Waltz written by actor Anthony Hopkins who he also invited to the show. P.s. Andre Rieu is not only the conductor. He founded the orchestra and owns the orchestra. It is a multimillion euro business. He sold 40 million albums worldwide. He made 72 million euros in 2023 of which 17 million euros was profit. P.s. Fun fact Andre Rieu used to go to a castle in his hometown for music lessons and he hated the teacher in that castle. So later as adult he bough that castle, renovated it and now he lives in that castle with his wife. Andre also didnt have a good relationship with his father who was also a conductor of really serious classical music. Andre often had arguments with his father about the sort of music Andre wanted to play. Andre always wanted to put elements of fun in his concerts. His father didnt like it at all, he wanted Andre to only play serious classical music. So that is why Andre Rieu's concerts are always full of humor and also fun songs. Andre said that it was the best way to introduce people to classical music by mixing it up with fun songs. I believe he is the only classical conductor that does this on such a big scale.
Thanks for the reaction. Yes, Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra have been performing for years all over the world. His shows are the best . They give you a feeling of peace and happiness. This we need now more than ever. So I watch many of his shows (you tube 😊) or on dvd. He always has great singers and many of them stay with him for years. Marusia used to be one of my favorites . The young talents like Amira and now Emma became (and become) world famous by getting this opportunity. Greetings from the Netherlands🫠, and take care 🫶
I believe I have requested this song a few weeks back the original artists, the Seekers. TBH the original is hard to beat. th-cam.com/video/KrLTe1_9zso/w-d-xo.html
