I believe it was mentioned by a SKZ member that it was a reference to the painting and their album's message/concept "that with this life, to go live" or "live in this life" something along those lines
I think this choreo reminds me a lot of their earlier bside choreographies like Awkward silence and Mirror. It's very playful and full of energy but also, in true stray kids fashion it's very powerful and well. Kt makes great use of their numbers in creating lovely pictures. Thanks for the video !

Yes!! Defs thought there was a musical theatre flair to it. Which matches the music - a lot of the synths/samples/bass lines in the verses sound very jazzy and musical-ish
I believe that was a reference to Creation of Adam, yes!! The MV has other fine art references, the obvious one is actual JD de Heem paintings in one of the sets, and then an allusion to his flower vases in another set.
Love how he is not exaggerating his reaction and really explain the choreography. Not screaming or what so ever.
i love this choreo so so much. i agree, it almost reminds me of a musical, especially during the verses. they’re quite playful/groovy and so it seems like the choreo follows along right with that. and as always, the imagery is spot on with the lyrics.
also at the very end, they actually go through the “back door” made by the members’ arms !

@@matryoshka3861 yeah i know right but sadly some people said the song is too loud and very alarming to the ears. Basically not their type of song. But for me Side effects song is damn unique compared to other songs.
Or the performance video, though its more on the pretty side and video production rather than focusing on the choreo itself

Also, their choreography piece for the jyp vs yg battle is really creative and cool, the fact that they choreographed it with the help of their teachers makes it even better.
(Some background info about the battle: It was part of their survival show, one of their missions. They had to prepare (by themselves!!!!! -with maybe some help from their teachers) three different stages focusing on three different skills: singing, rapping and dancing; then they went to yg ent. and "battled" with yge's newst group. By that time, yg didn't have a group ready so they just got a bunch of trainees together, most of them debuted in the rookie group "Treasure")

I think the category you're placing this choreography is similar to Golden Child's choreo. Their song "Without You" is a great example where they also utilize their bodies as set pieces. I hope u check them out!! :)

Since he kept talking about musical theatre style, I couldn't help but think of Seventeen's HOME;RUN performance that came out today. Their dance style isn't necessarily musical theatre, but the whole performance and set kept reminding me of a Broadway musical! (And it seems like many others thought the same, according to the comment section.)

I'm not a dancer, so I don't have the proper vocabulary to really describe this...but I keep seeing moments that strongly bring to mind Bob Fosse (humor & attitude) & Gene Kelly (powerful, yet graceful, athleticism).
if you have notice the one with a red tie on his arm, when they go to the chorus choreo, his hands and arms are different than the other members

Hiii! HUGE STAY HERE! I don’t know if you’ve seen Stray Kid’s Side Effects Dance. That song is the song that I first heard from them and it made a Stay immediately. Not only the meaning of the song is something meaningful and that matters, as everyone experienced it growing up or still experiencing it but its not something a lot of people discuss. The vibe song is unique, and the dance choreography is literally fire 🔥 🔥 and such a performance. I feel like you would need to do a reaction if you haven’t experience it. 😉✌🏼
