Dude Ace's speech to Arturo instantly shot him up to being one of my favorite characters. Like my gosh it's crazy how those two are easily the most aggressive and rude characters in the game (next to David) but they just came across as real in these scene. Arturo is afraid he won't be able to save Levi's life but Ace, a man who admitted many times he is afraid of dying himself, told Arturo he CAN save a life if he at least tries. I really do love that Ace ended up being very similar to Mondo during that moment
ACE MARKEY DIED A BADASS. He tried to stop the killing game, he PUSHED HIS OWN EXECUTION TO START to try to save Levi. He encouraged Aruto. And he didn't do it because he suddenly became fearless in his final moments, like Teruko thought he would. He did all that while TERRIFIED. And THAT'S what makes him brave. Coward my ass! He proved them wrong, proved himself wrong!!! ACE MARKEY YOU'LL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS.
Hmm, true. He did tried to held it together even his last words were that he didn't want to die and being scared! Hope for Bonus Episodes!~ Maybe an Afterlife Segments just to see how everything went for the students that passed on!~
Fun fact ; what happened to ace is called 'voodoo death'(stress cardiomyopathy), and it can happen when adrenaline or any other chemicals in your body reach fatal amounts. And it is, extremely rare, and very unlikely to happen. They literally scared this man to death, i can assure you the psychological tortures they put him through did NOT make it peaceful. He was likely both physically and mentally tired, as he had to escape drowning, a murderer, fire, and etc.
Not to mention the fact that MonoTV specified Levi had less chances of survival the longer Ace lived, and the fact Ace was forcefully put through different murder methods but not being deliberately harmed probably raised his anxiety through the roof. Imagine wanting a quick death but you're forced to be put through stressful situations knowing someone else may die too.
The fact he dies from FEAR in an execution about the FEAR of dying, something we're shown last episode he FEARS is actually genius writing that even MIn's execution involving her talent and needing to be perfect can't top
Teruko true motive is that she was the one who created the killing game, isn't it? Because she wanted to die and she wants to see if someone is capable of doing it.
I think it’s more likely that her luck caused the killing game. In most danganronpa games, the students have already become incredibly close to eachother before the game starts. what would be unluckier than all your friends dying around you because of something you have no control over?
Teruko cockily affirming "I'll show you all what it means to be the ultimate lucky student" for that luck to manifest as someone getting hurt because of her once again, as making Ace's last moments worse, god I feel so bad for her
Everyone saying that this execution wasn't that bad, that it was neither painful nor gory, I have to tell you, this is way, way worse. First off, this is one of the few executions that have more to do with personality than talent. Ace never cared about his talent, he cared about staying alive. In many parts of the trial, even in this episode, he has made it clear that he killed because he didn't want to be killed. He knew that everyone would kill him first unless there was a logically 'easier' kill. Even before this trial, he's admitted (Chapter 2 Episode 6 ~24:41) and I quote "I've always wondered which is worse, dying young or living a long shitty life of suffering." Ace also admitted that there was a part of him that hoped Nico would have killed him, which says a lot about his mental state. Secondly, just like Teruko pointed out, Ace had a delayed death to make him suffer more. Although we don't know on if it was precalculated on MonoTV's part that someone would get injured, bc of predicting what Teruko would do or her being MM [to find a way to die and David lying about secrets theory], but regardless, MonoTV did take advantage of that and made Ace have to extend his death as much as possible. Ace mentally was going back and forth between dying quicker to save Levi or staying away from death due to his fear of dying, which defines Ace at his very core concept as a person. Execution starts with Thanatophobia on a tombstone, which means fear of death. With Ace's fear of dying and his reaction, he definitely knew what that word meant. What follows is an easy to dodge blade that tried to cut off his head. Ace, as someone who fears death, obviously avoids it and sees a way to escape. Although he knows that delaying death could end up killing Levi, still chooses to escape through different rooms; illness, fire, car accident, falling, murder, drowning, lightning, execution. One thing I find interesting is the second and last rooms are the ones that have their entrances locked upon entering. I think each locked door has a different meaning. For the first lock when Ace enters the Illness room, time is spent on a shot of Ace thinking about what just happened and making a decision. I believe this is where Ace makes a final attempt to consider dying asap for Levi but just gets too overwhelmed with the realization of his inevitable death and decides to cling to life and try to run and live. By the final execution room, ace has gone through many ways of dying that, in my opinion, are very natural. I know that if you actually do math it isn't that likely, but people who get into those situations when it happens that very little ability to personally make decisions that can save themselves. Now this leads us to the most ironic death room of all, death by execution. This has layers of irony which range from the very basic "Execution = Danganronpa" train of thought to the very situation that just happened with Teruko/Levi. Multiple guns all ready to shoot someone, but unlike Teruko has nothing but luck, Ace only had, and I quote, "that life where I can't do anything but a sport that I hate because I suck shit at everything else." (so just a little lack of luck, you know). With the guns rising, I think this is where Ace accepts he is dead, he can't do nothing more, that he is still letting Levi lay in a state of injury, that he still doesn't want to die, etc. With the trigger being pulled, or honestly maybe even a couple of seconds before the trigger is pulled, I come to believe that Ace has accepted in body and brain he is dead (which leads the heart racing a million miles a second to just give out) leading to cardiac arrest. If Ace indeed died before the trigger was pulled, this just makes the death much more tragic in reality. For someone who just wants to live, who had someone attempt to kill him yet fail at the last second, someone who killed the person they were most like yet jealous of due to them actually trying to change, the thought they died to themself is so cruel, worse then any other possible way of dying painfully and/or brutally. In all honesty Min's death was nicer than Ace's. The part that definitely hurt the most was that Ace was right. He knew that he was the least cared about, that nobody would bat an eye if he died. This sadly turned out to be true. Even without the injured Levi being rushed to get healed, the cast would have probably reacted similar to other people in which it was a painless, goreless death. Honestly, the cast was probably more disturbed by the concept of someone dying then the person (Ace) dying as an individual. Props to the script writers, props to the voice actors, well done on your parts! I hope Chapter 3 takes its' time to come out so it can maintain this quality. 🥳 PS-If I overlooked something or just had something disagreeable, please feel free to reply. One of the best parts of Danganronpa is discussing the characters/executions/etc.💜
True!~ Although it didn't help Ace still explained his motive for doing so!! However, it is possible that Levi was badly injured so they had to focus on him first! Maybe when Chapter 3 starts, they will start to think about it afterwards when Levi gets healed? At least, Teruko does see herself in Ace and was hoping for him to be innocent. Not to mention, she feels bad for all the people being executed though!
And not only that, Levi will probably not feel anything about it. Ace, after saying he hoped Levi died because Levi told he didn't care about him, still went in his way just to save Levi..
24:43 😭😭 Xander: “I think you're a really great person, okay? But you're constantly undermining yourself with all your talk about "bad luck. There's got to be a better way than just resigning yourself to the whims of fate. Never tell yourself, "There's nothing we can do to make things better, so let's just give up”” IM NEVER EVER RECOVERING FROM XANDER N TERUKO NEVERRRR
Yeah, that seems fair, I haven't made a fangan yet but doing a project with THIS much work put into it and you can't make a profit out of it, that would drain anyone, I hope they're doing okay
The execution is not based on Ace's Ultimate Talent, but on his thanotophobia. I can respect him for willingly sacrificing himself in order for Levi to be saved, even though he is terrified to die young.
@@peternguyen7530 I know right!! I am not sure he took it with dignity, his last words were that he didn't want to die and he was scared. As well as not even apologizing for all he done! But it seems that he did the right thing for Levi to be treated!
I feel like just because typically people with ASPD don't feel empathy and compassion in the same ways people without it do, doesn't mean they are devoid of feeling something parallel to it. I think Levi is a great example of that. He says he doesn't feel or understand any of those emotions, and I'm sure he doesn't in the average way, but his actions go beyond just someone pretending to fit in by masking and mimicing. I think he does feel the same as others, just so differently that it almost doesn't feel the same--but it is, imo. also i think whit took something from his body lol
Spoilers you know... it weirdly brought me peace and acceptance that ace's death was not brutal or gory... a heart attack made me more relieved and happy that I didn't see my favorite character get brutalized.
I agree with this… he definitely had a peaceful death. On the other hand, the poor guy was afraid of dying, and his fear was used against him. At least he didn’t suffer.
something something… the parallel between ace and min,, min was practically sheltered her whole life but received an unnecessarily brutal death,, beaten arms, sawed legs. ace on the other hand, went through grueling training daily and probably got brutally thrown around by the thing that his talent revolves around,,, but has an execution with no blood or death or broken bones or anything
That was actually kind of brutal in my opinion... Imagine experiencing every death of a human being possible in a row... He didn't suffer physically, instead mentally and emotionally...
This is probobly the last DRDT vid were going to get for a while. Thank you to the amazing voice actors and the creator for making on of the most peak fan danganronpa media out there.

As someone who is too damn scared to watch the episode, could you please explain to me some important stuff that has happened? Just, Please, I love Ace and I'm too scared to see how this chapter has come to an end.
@@c1nn4m4z1ng Sure, If you don't mind. Do you also mind including what happened before the execution, since this is the moment people usually have things left to say to eachother?
@@HoneySketch9 alright, this is gonna be a lot. So ace starts by saying stuff about not wanting to die (like the end of last episode) and teruko tells him "I need you to do something that could save your life. " She tells him to kill monoTV, because even if he fails he was gonna die anyway. He proceeds to punch monoTv and breaks their screen, which causes them to reboot and now has a different voice?? (I don't understand it either) so then monoTv proceeds to say "it's time for teruko tawaki's execution" and a big machine gun appears in front of teruko. She just kinds stands there as multiple people tell her to move, monoTV just counts down from 10. They get to 0, and it shows that someone was shot. Levi had jumped in front of teruko, and was shot a bunch of times. They want to get him to the infirmary, but they can't leave until the blackened is executed. Ace tells at Arturo to save Levi, then tells monoTV to execute him. Before his execution, he cries saying "I'm scared of dying. " (putting the execution in a second comment)
Ace's execution starts with him in a graveyard, and he dodges a scythe. He runs to a door, which leads him to a hospital hallway, reading "death by illness" he runs through another door at the end of the hallway, which is full of fire, "death by burning" he continues running through different ways of death, until he reaches one last room. "Death by execution" there about 6 men standing before him, each holding guns. Ace backs up, but he can't go through the door again. Eventually, they shoot the guns, but confetti comes out. Ace then collapses, and a paper falls onto his face, stating "ace markey autopsy report: death by fear-induced cardiac arrest"
What...? I thought the execution would be associated with his talent. Maybe something like in which he gets on a wild and uncontrollable jockey horse that runs as fast as a cheetah or something, and then eventually tosses him into a wall of spikes.😏
I'm genuinely proud of DRDT Dev and the team. Zero joke here, this is my favorite episode in the series. This is proof that no matter the struggle, the outcome is well and truly worth it. (Episode spoilers below.) - I love that the execution was based off of Ace's fears as opposed to his talent. - Ace's speech to Arturo to save the life of someone he hated really stuck with me. - Levi, the guy that says he doesn't care about people, take literal bullets for Teruko. (There's good in him.) - Ace trying to execute himself as fast as possible to save Levi showed genuine humanity. - Everyone rushing to Levi's aid proves that the cast is really starting to see themselves as team. - Teruko's moment on her own in the trial room really opens up her inner character that we've all been craving, and it's my favorite part of the series so far. She tries to find out why she's here, and what this means for both her and everyone remaining, whether it's fate that makes her liable to everyone dead, dying, or affected. I don't care whether there's a scrum debate or anything other minigame like that, or not. DRDT isn't a massive team like other DR games or fangames, hence why it's been a long time between chapters and episode releases. And given how stellar this series is, and always will be in my book, I'll wait no matter how long it takes. Thank you, DRDT Dev. Thank you DRDT, team. Thank you, everyone. I give you all my appreciation, and much more.
If it makes you feel better, just imagine Ace and Arei chilling in a “dead people” lounge, with Min and Xander, doing ghost things and placing their bets on the participants still alive.
@@randomscreaminggoat9820 Wait, for the Bonus Episodes!~ Not sure if Min and Xander will do bets! I don't think they would do that as such in the Afterlife! Also, hope that there can be a Afterlife Segment to see how the students that passed on will make peace with each other!~
Here's some things I noticed in this episode: 7:06 This is the plan Teruko mentioned to Veronika in episode 7, but then told her that she will find out when the next murder occurs. 16:17 This Whit sprite comes out of absolutely nowhere and was made specifically for this scene, and it adds to the list of reasons on why I believe Whit is the traitor. Why does he have his hand behind his back? Why make a new sprite like this when Whit has other nervous sprites? This must mean something. (I'm going full Veronika here I know) 19:43 There is a name on this gravestone. I think it says "Taylor Riley" but it's hard to make it out. If I had to guess it's probably the guy Ace mentioned in the trial who was his only friend. Speaking of that friend, at 17:26 Ace says he would have a third death on his hands, and in the trial Ace speaks of his friend like he's already dead, so I theorize Ace accidentally got him killed.
Yeah I thought that new sprite just felt so suspicious. I really do wonder how it’s gonna be reused Now thinking about it, idk if I trust Whit anymore 😭😭
SPOILER this reminded me of that one line in Coraline (the book) "Being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared. Being brave means you're scared, really scared, badly scared, and you do the right thing, anyway." imo ace asking to be executed was a perfect way to finish his story as a character im still internally sobbing though
Ace isn't actually the killer guys! It was actually Mikuru Ikusaba, the 16th student, lying hidden somewhere in this school. The one they call the Ultimate Despair. Watch out for her.
@@starrz.x0x basically this fan show is based of a series of game called danganronpa SPOILERS (in the first game mukuro is a secret student that comes into the story later on)

Just a guess though, I too am curious of how the execution would turn out like.
yeah i'm real upset about arei and ace and whatever but i think we're forgetting the real victim my baby girl who does no wrong (forget about the art forgery) rose lacroix. even if she survives she has not only amountain of debt she needs to repay but enough trauma to traumatize a therapist. if she ever ends up killing for the sake of a money related motive i can't even blame her lmao
@fragglefigglehorn I doubt she would even have the reason to kill unless something truly terrifying motivates her to do so. She has seen the details of both Min and Ace's executions, to the point where she can LITERALLY draw them perfectly- As for Ace and Arei, I'm shocked by how mentally devastating their two deaths were. It felt like Ace and Arei have so many similitaries and differences with each other. Both were unlikable jerks to the class who only served nothing but trouble in the first chapter.. these two could've changed, but the tragedy is that they were probably the most likely to die.... Anyways, I'm looking for CH3.. although I wonder whats going to happen with Levi...
@@FunnxRepublic I agreed!~ They could have changed! Ace most especially, but he did let himself be executed so that Levi can be saved!~ Although he has nothing to gain from this, he cares about Levi despite Levi being a sociopath! Let's hope that there will be a Bonus Episodes soon and maybe Afterlife Segments if possible!
As everyone is talking about Ace, the execution, and the FUCKING SPRITE WHIT HAD?? I'd like to talk about Teruko. These past few episodes I've been (for some reason) obsessing over her character, instead of being stressed for the execution or theorizing on what's gonna happen like I always do, I was on edge this episode... Teruko dying?? Huh??? Her crying?? Omg. The last scene of her on the ground???? Her blaming herself for what happened to everyone??? The last episodes where her vulnerable side was shown??? DAMN. I love you Teruko. YOU DONT GET TERUKO LIKE I DO
All of this. These last few episodes really showed how the walls Teruko put up after Ch. 1 have more than a few cracks in them. I genuinely felt sorry for her at the end of the episode.
Yeah, poor Teruko. I wish someone was there to comfort her but she chose to be by herself though.... This does confirm that Teruko does see herself in Ace. Previously, she wanted Ace to be innocent and she ripped into Ace about his faults and couldn't even genuinely apologize for all he done! Teruko wanted to save people and man, someone give her hugs of comfort please! Especially from people who are kind and not someone like David or Arturo! Although Arturo is debatable!
Loved the execution honestly, I was expecting a horse related one since we knew he hated his talent,, but this style of execution heightened his most despair inducing quality to the point of death: his fear, how he will never be able to conquer them and will die because of it. Just like how Min’s heightened her most despair inducing quality, her perfectionism, and gave her despair knowing she will never be perfect enough to survive. Very great in terms of a character arc standpoint. Also just personal preference, but I like how there wasn’t much physical injury but a lot of psycological despair, felt a lot more fun that way.
I think if the execution was like a roller coaster except Ace was riding a horse instead; each section could've just been a different type of death before ending with Ace getting off the horse rollercoaster thing and being confronted by the executioners - ending the exact same as it did. That's the only change I would make, but it's still a really good execution even without it...
I think the worse thing is that they made it so long, knowing Ace wanted it to be quick just so they could get Levi out, they made him go for so long and ending it with something others could consider.. pathetic, just like he thought they all saw him.
@@Hellsaid True! His last words that he didn't want to die and being scared! He couldn't even muster up to apologize genuinely. yeah i thought there was going to be at least. like one horse in the execution. especially since it ended up being fear themed and ace said he’s scared of horses. death by stampede or something

Here’s some advice: a red herring is another piece of evidence, so don’t discard using the red herring in a story after it’s revealed to be a dead end.
The fact his execution was purely psychological. Poor Ace. I feel like thatd work on me too ngl I TUNED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREAM WHEN I SAW TERUKO ABOUT TO BE SHOT I FREAKED OUT!!! TAKING OUT TWO OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS IN ONE EPISODE IS CRAZY. I LOST MY SHIT I wonder why Levi did that. Maybe he feels guilty for not being a good enough support system for Ace, causing murder? Thought since Levi shows psychopathy traits maybe that may not be it. Im sure theres a logical explanation IM GONNA MISS THIS SMMMMM BUT TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THE BANGERS CREATOR
well its more sociopathy/aspd traits, and he likely jumped in front because using his logic in the situation and framework for being a good person, it'd be more beneficial for him to take the shots because he thought monotv wouldn''t kill someone that didn't break the rules
@@teawitch785 I'm not sure. Whose to say that Levi can't feel anything? He was the only one to reach out to Ace and try to understand the way he is after all.

[SPOILERS] i won't lie, I bursted into tears after Ace's execution. Not even because of the execution itself, but because of the scene afterwards. I think what really pushed me to burst into tears was one little thing. *nobody cared.* Veronika just said it was incredible and stuff, but everyone else only cared about Levi. God... to imagine what it would be like to sacrifice yourself for someone else's sake only for NOBODY to even say how cruel your death was or ANYTHING. Wow... ouch... Poor Ace :( He was brave for asking MonoTV to execute him for Levi's sake, only for him to still die out of fear. Can't believe I used to hate him. What an amazing character and ending, really. It is officially Aceover yall.
I wonder how things will pan out in ch3 regarding Ace. Given what happened to Levi, his death kinda got oveshadowed. A fitting end, that he didn't have any mourners. It's exactly what he expected.
I think its just a case of priorities. They don’t have time to think about Ace. Life if for the living. I’m sure once Levi is stable (assuming he doesn’t die), people will start talking about Ace again
I don't think they didn't care, they were just more focused on saving Levi. I mean, if someone was about to die would you really take time to mourn, cry, or show that you care for the death of someone who already died? Or take the time to save the person who's already alive? They may not even care in the moment due to Levi's deadly situation occupying their attention, this doesn't mean they can't care afterwards though. In chapter 3 we'll probably see the characters have a reaction to Ace's death after Levi's saved, or dies.
First of all...what did we learn from this trial? because i learned not to have FAVORITES- Second of all...GREAT JOB TO THE CREATOR AND TEAM BEHIND THIS FANGAN!!! You all did a WONDER job with this chapter and i can't wait to see more of what you guys have in store
I hope they at least acknowledge his noble act in chapter 3. @@maskkid Yeah, I hope so!~ They did needed to save Levi as he is the one most badly injured. @@maskkid Right. I do think we'll get more of their response in ch3. Probably Nico feeling some complex feelings, maybe Hu alongside them. At least Teruko had a moment to berate MonoTV for his cruelty towards Min and Ace.
@@maskkidI know this sounds really bad and I really do love Ace but honestly I kind of hope they don’t really acknowledge Ace’s sacrifice because how perfect would it be that even after he’s dead he’s still not cared for, that Ace was right to believe that when he dies no one will care.
hey do yall remember when ace said theyre gonna put him down like a horse with a broken leg in chapter 1. no particular reason for bringing it up just making sure were all aware of that

Insane ending to the chapter. The execution was completely unexpected and seems to go more with his "I don't want to die" attitude. Not sure if I like it yet, but it sure was interesting!
ITS SO ACEOVER :’( Ok some things I’m expecting after reading/hearing some theories are: (EDIT: Well… that was an episode for sure lmao I still hoped Nico would get the consequences of his actions but oh well cool episode!! I sure do hope my other 2 favs don’t die soon!) 1• Nico is somehow gonna get harmed in Ace’s execution (like fuyuhiko did), I’m not sure if it will be Ace trying the drag Nico down with him or the execution itself. 2• David actually got Teruko’s secret but lied for some reason, when Teruko said “My family” for her secret he did have a sinister smile bc I think he knows she’s lying 3• I feel like since Eden wasn’t the culprit this trial and seems like she has a bigger role in the story I think she will either be a survivor or die in chapter 5 (pls not be the mastermind that would be cruel lol) (As I said these are my predictions based on reading and hearing theories in comments and videos so I didn’t come up with them mostly, still sorry if they don’t make sense)
@@AriJrr Eden being a clockmaker does seem kinda suspicious given the killing game is a TV show. It’s not a perfect parallel, but it’s still close. Also I can absolutely see Ace being petty and trying to get Nico killed.
I don't think Ace has any time to be petty, he'll be too terrified to do much. And considering how Nico silently apologized to him last episode, they'll hopefully have a nice moment together. Ace has already suffered enough, at least let him have something nice before he dies
@@jackin_it for Eden being the mastermind, we know that she attacks someone with a fork as we saw in the prologue and a few episodes ago (since she was holding a fork with blood on it and in the first cg where someone says they have to kill teruko you can kinda see a fork in the image, I’m pretty sure it was Eden who attacked) this scene will either happen later on or has happened in the past. Normally if there was no leads I would say it happens later, but since Xander tried to kill Teruko and once I heard someone mention that his eye wound could have been caused by Eden (I don’t remember the reason, but Xander mentioned it was from deleted memories so it has to be important) so my guess is either Eden is the mastermind trying to get rid of teruko or Eden knows something that teruko is related to the killing game (David’s motive being terukos would match that too) Tbh my mastermind suspects are Teruko, Veronika(she’s so suspicious that she is not suspicious lol), Eden and Whit (I hope it’s not whit lol, I’m sus of him bc he defended David&Eden and they turned out to be innocent and also he did make the “hanging out” joke but I do believe that was just a joke GOD PLS TELL ME IT ISNT WHIT AND I HAVE BEEN JUST READING TOO MANY THEORIES-) Sorry if this comment makes no sense my memory is kinda bad and I’m rushing this so I may have made some mistakes :)
david is lying, the secret said that she blames herself for the death of her parents and siblings, but she says she only has one brother, teruko and xander's secrets are switched. it makes more sense for xander to have that as his secret considering his extra video, and teruko likely knew it wasnt hers but also knew it was a horrible move for her to say that her secret was causing the killing game, especially when she still cant piece together what her true secret was.

Only other tears was when she was stabbed, I guess you could just read that as pain, or if you want to super look into it it might also be the betrayal, but those are the few moments that Teruko has let herself be vulnerable
Ace's execution is even more genius than you might think! Even though it seemingly has no correlation to his talent, it may correlate to the jockey Frank Hayes who died of a heart attack before crossing the finishing line.
I can’t find where the comment was for Veronika’s VA so I’ll say it here. I am very grateful for your time, dedication, and effort. You didn’t have to give your best or even do this, your kindness does not go unnoticed. Even if you don’t wish to continue, even if this is where this story ends, I am very grateful for your hard work, and I hope that you know everyone here appreciates you.
9:42 Maybe I am thinking too much into this, but David's reaction is definitely interesting. It seems like he is impressed with Ace just now. Granted, EVERYONE was impressed with Ace but still to focus on Mr. "People Can't Change" himself. Man, it is really a rollercoaster with these characters and I love every bit of it.
I hope we get more Despair Time after this episode, understandably it would take a bit for everything to get made, but I’m sure it’d be amazing nonetheless. If that’s not the case and this is where the project stops, it’s been an absolutely incredible journey watching this series! The creator should be proud of their work, as well as the work of the team behind them! I absolutely adore Despair Time and hope to see more!
Yea Ace's death is so far one of the least gruesome death in any Danganronpa(fanfic or official) but its also the most cruelest execution ever. They kept messing with him up until the very end and he just die from shock...
The execution was so cruel, but so perfect at the same time. Also, I think it’s perfectly dramatic that the main protagonist, we are slowly watching her, losing her grip on her emotional self. It’s actually kind of tough to watch, but that’s what makes it so dang good
@@gumbo34 We both know another couple is going to die at some point (it's a custom in Danganronpa). Between Whit and Charles, Charles had completed his character arc of learning to put his faith in others, Whit still has the "Your mother is dead and you omit that truth" thing going on. It makes the most sense to further his development by having Charles die and Whit having to go through another loss. Plus, I like to believe that Charles' phobia of blood and Veronika's horror movie collection will be used again in a future case
And with this episode, Drdt is officially my favorite fangan (It already was before but the writing, animations, editing and voice actings reaffirm it) Ace was my favorite character, but this execution was so creative, and Teruko is an amazing protagonist who really cares about the people who died in this killing game. Great job Dev! Please take care and rest!! 🫶🫶
What an episode. Ill first give my thoughts on the current episode, before giving my overall opinion on chapter 2. This was, I think, the perfect way to end chapter 2 First of all, there were so many layers of irony in this episode. starting off, Levi being hit by the bullet. Just like Teruko warned him from the spears in the prolouge saved his life, he saves hers by taking the bullet. He clearly wants to be a good person, despite saying he doesnt care about others. And he says its only for his own benefit, however, this did not benefit him in the slightest. I think he may of been exaggerating in his reveal. also, Levi getting nearly executed is sorta his "comeuppance" for murdering others in the past. Now Ace...... Im sorta glad he didnt die an unredeemable asshole. He still did good in his final moments. he tried to take out MonoTV, and he was willing to get executed for Levi to live. He may of been awful, but he wasnt devoid of good. Now, lets go over his execution. "thanatophobia" is the fear of death, so, of course it matches Ace. ill be "analyzing" each part of the execution. "Death by illness." I think his friend died by illness. each other part of the execution represents some part of the killing game except this. However, death by illness would fit if his friend died by an illness. "Death by fire" Teruko mentioned setting the building on fire in chapter 1 to get MonoTV to let them out, saving them all, and now it nearly kills him here. Teruko's attempts to save others always fails, afterall. "Death by car accident" he said in chapter 1 "what if im too short and the driver doesnt see me and runs me over and I die-" "Death by falling" Ace survived his murder attempt by falling from the ceiling. He saved his life by falling, now he nearly dies by falling. "Death by murder" I dont think I need to point this out. "Death by drowning," referring to the fact that he used the relaxation pond to make Arei weigh more when she dies (hey, also references death by falling) and frame Nico, and framing Nico was ultimately his downfall because of the tape. ""Death by lightning" referring to how lightning never strikes twice, as does MonoTV attempting to execute someone didnt work twice. "Death by execution." Also, obvious. and his death from a fear induced cardiac arrest. His fear was what motivated him to murder, which ultimately killed him in the end. Thats all I wanted to say on this episode, I don't have any other cool observations. anyway, my thoughts on Chapter 2. the dev set up our expectations for each character and deconstructed them in the best worst way possible. After all, all that glitters doesn't glow. Arturo was seen as rather useful and reliable, and even somewhat intelligent. However, this chapter shows that no, hes eighteen, and not a paramedic. He doesnt know how to preform advanced autopsies, and it's unfair to expect him to take care of all of them. Despite what he seems, he doesnt glow in such a field. Nico was seen as innocent and a pushover. However, theyve been shown to be a meticulous planner, a thief, and certainly able to fend themselves and much more mature than they seemed. They arent the perfect victim, despite what people wanted them to be. Hu was seen as a reliable figure, a guiding light who could care for everyone. However, shes human too. She got close to people, and they betrayed for her. And shes attempted suicide three times. So of course shes gonna slip up. And when she broke that mold, those expectations she was held too, suddenly people dont care for her opinion, and think shes unreliable. Because sadly, if you break peoples expectations, they will start to expect nothing of you. She tried to help the battered, but she was battered arguably the worst. Rose was smart, a critical thinker, and someone with budding sleuth skills. But no one considered the toll it took on her. Like with Arturo and Hu, you cannot just rely on one person. They need a break. They need to have time to themselves. And also, this chapter has shown the best of people get took advantage of in the worst of ways. Nico took advantage of her inattentional blindness. The worst things happen to the best of people. Levi was seen as someone who would protect everyone and be something akin to a pillar. In someways, a good way. Ace was kinda his friend (.... in chapter 1.), or less good ways, like Arei manipulating him. But then he tears it down, revealing he doesnt exactly care about anyone. however, in chapter 1, he seems more like a diplomat, trying to resolve arguments through words (or forcing them to be resolved with... less than kind words.) however, in chapter 2. he proves his feelings through actions. Levi was never for words, his true calling was to prove himself through actions. Eden was seen as a naive, blind optimist who didnt know better, and who could stay optimistic and strong, no matter the situation. But as the chapter has shown, she knows the world is cruel but chooses to provide the world with positivity. But she also shows she has a limit, when she breaks down crying when accused of killing Arei. Even the strongest people have their limits. No one can take constant misfortune, and eventually, Edens sparkle will fade and the gold will flake off. And now, for the stars of the show, Arei and Ace. Arei was seen as nothing more than a bully, and a "clout chaser"(?) however, while she scorned people and hurt them, in chapter 2, she protected people (Eden.) unlike Ace, who only hurt people. Ace was someone in chapter 1 who people thought could be shut up in an instant, and an idiot who "couldnt tell his right from his left even if it was written on his own hands." However, hes been shown to have a backbone, and also be a rather terrifying planner, despite not seeming like it. Wait.... I think I already said this. Oh, hi, Nico. He foils Nico so perfectly. however, they contrast each other in the fact that Nico's arc is more about others denying them the ability to take culpability, Ace's arc is about not allowing circumstances take away ones culpability. Also, Arei & Ace embodies the themes of this chapter rather well. They embody the same theme "not everyone gets their golden ending" ], however, Arei got her perfect ending stolen from her, but Ace chose to deny his golden ending, showing once again, everything that glitters isnt gold. What. A. Chapter. you did so well DRDTdev, and all these characters are ones I will remember for a long time to come, and they make this fan series as great as it is.
Since everyone’s preparing themselves for Ace’s demise, how many of you are willing to bet that he will pull a Kirumi and try to make a run for it? It just seems like something he would do given his character, and it would make sense for the execution if it would involve him running away from a bunch of horses through some kind of obstacle course. Edit: Dang! Not only was I wrong about him pulling a Kirumi, but Ace’s execution was totally NOT what we were expecting! And that fact he actually wanted to get through with the execution despite his fears in order for Levi to be saved. I guess in a way, he did get some kind of redemption.
@@toniannsmith932 Seconded. Especially after his "If I didn't kill anyone, I would've died" speech. He gave up yelling and trying to refute the accusations of him being a killer, but he didn't seem like he gave up living completely. That, and I feel like he would do anything to stall for time at this point, and running from his death would do just that. In other words, Bro is completely cooked, he is not seeing the outside world ever again😭
i feel sick. why is terukos talk w/ monotv oddly comforting? at the same time that i hate how logical monotv is, i love it, it resonates very deeply within me. ily teruko
if ace died of cardiac arrest then i think he would’ve been dying from the start. bc in cardiac arrest you have a 90% chance of surviving and it lessens by 10% every min. nd there’s 9 rooms he has to get out of meaning he took 1 min to get out of each room. especially because he got very, very, very scared at “death of execution”
very ironic how in some of aces sprite work he is clutching at his chest and he dies of basically a heart attack is extremely well thought out if that was some foreshadowing
Reminder to keep things civil in the comments, no matter what happens. Don't think I didn't see the Eden slander from the previous episode 💀, and I say this as an Ace fan. Eden might remind me a bit of Tsumugi from v3 but let's not villainize a character because you want to protect another one💅 Also I wonder if the missing stepladder/step stool + the scratches on the playground floor will be explained 🧍♀
Connections to previous games aren't terrible (since this in a DR fan game) but the DR fandom manages to oversimply a lot of character's roles in the story because they barely fit the stereotype.
You know, now that you mentioned that, that could be evidence of Ace strangling Arei to knock her out. She could’ve tried to escape his grip and scraped her feet against the playground floor, which left the marks
This class trial and this series with all the episodes you've released is an amazing accomplishment. You should definitely be proud of what you've achieved with this series
SPOILERS! This is easily one of the most creative danganronpa executions ever. While Ace didn’t experience a lot of physical torture like Min, the mental torture of his death and execution getting dragged out is not only extremely disturbing, but unique.
Yeah you could say this was one of the most cruel ways you could give Ace's death. And ofc the irony just writes itself with him being scared of dying.
I think he's talking about his dead friend he mentioned in episode 13. We don't know what happened to him yet, but it seems like Ace blamed himself for the death of his friend
Y'know, I'm usually not a fan of executions that are just a sequence of multiple related things happening one after another, but this one works very well. Very appropriate that Ace's own fear of dying was what ultimately killed him. The plot thickens. Levi's really trying to be a better person than he once was, sacrificing himself for Teruko. What could possibly be the truth behind this particular killing game?
THIS WAS SUCH AN INTRIGUING ENDING AND I LOVE ITTT the parallels to past chapters is rllu interesting too! For example, In the prologue, Teruko saved Levi, and now Levi saved Teruko. In Chapter 1, Teruko was (implicably) the first one to leave out of everyone, and now she is the last to leave. (There may be more I simply did not notice) drdt dev, VAs, and everyone who contributed, you should be proud of yourselves for this masterpiece. This is one of the best fanganronpas I have ever seen, and the wait was certainly worth it. It will probably be a looong time before we get more content, so for now, until next time! In other words, YOU ALL COOKED 🔥🔥🔥
Something is telling me that, after Ace's execution, we will see a huge plot twist at the end on this chapter. My bet's on David, who knows that the secret he received, it wasn't Xander's secret.
My thoughts exactly. It actually reads Teruko, which is why he's going to believe that Xander was right to try and kill her and he'll be tormenting her moving forward
I really do love that Ace ended up being very similar to Mondo during that moment
and Arei by extension...
Hope for Bonus Episodes!~ Maybe an Afterlife Segments just to see how everything went for the students that passed on!~
He really proved he wasnt a coward in his final moments
My boy really *slayed* with this bit of character development at the end
@@Anj9999 Hmm True. He definitely tried this time!
Yeah the people who said it was a peaceful death are tripping 😭
Not to mention the fact that MonoTV specified Levi had less chances of survival the longer Ace lived, and the fact Ace was forcefully put through different murder methods but not being deliberately harmed probably raised his anxiety through the roof. Imagine wanting a quick death but you're forced to be put through stressful situations knowing someone else may die too.

The fact he dies from FEAR in an execution about the FEAR of dying, something we're shown last episode he FEARS is actually genius writing that even MIn's execution involving her talent and needing to be perfect can't top
death by fear induced cardiac arrest is surprisingly fitting for him

Teruko true motive is that she was the one who created the killing game, isn't it? Because she wanted to die and she wants to see if someone is capable of doing it.
U might be ONTO SOMETHING
Don't do this to me, man...
I think it’s more likely that her luck caused the killing game. In most danganronpa games, the students have already become incredibly close to eachother before the game starts. what would be unluckier than all your friends dying around you because of something you have no control over?
I'm not sure if that is her goal but I definitely think that motive belongs to her
dude im keeping this in mind when ch6 rolls around 👀
Teruko cockily affirming "I'll show you all what it means to be the ultimate lucky student" for that luck to manifest as someone getting hurt because of her once again, as making Ace's last moments worse, god I feel so bad for her
Indeed, she better get a happy ending otherwise I will be mentally broken 😢
PS-If I overlooked something or just had something disagreeable, please feel free to reply. One of the best parts of Danganronpa is discussing the characters/executions/etc.💜
THIS WAS SO TRUE. OH MY GOD. I LOVE THIS EXECUTION SM??? I relate to the fears of death and the desperation to live so yeah. I completely get it.
I love your analysis on Ace's execution, and I completely agree with this!

(Episode spoilers below.)
- I love that the execution was based off of Ace's fears as opposed to his talent.
- Ace's speech to Arturo to save the life of someone he hated really stuck with me.
- Levi, the guy that says he doesn't care about people, take literal bullets for Teruko. (There's good in him.)
- Ace trying to execute himself as fast as possible to save Levi showed genuine humanity.
Goodbye, Ace... I was thinking you'd last longer. You and Arei deserved a better life. Hoping you can rest in peace.

Here's some things I noticed in this episode:
7:06 This is the plan Teruko mentioned to Veronika in episode 7, but then told her that she will find out when the next murder occurs.
(I'm going full Veronika here I know)
19:43 There is a name on this gravestone.
Drdev confirmed Ace had a friend.
His name was Taylor Riley by the way.
I'm 99% sure that Whit is a Mastermind.
Yeah I thought that new sprite just felt so suspicious. I really do wonder how it’s gonna be reused
Now thinking about it, idk if I trust Whit anymore 😭😭

Both were unlikable jerks to the class who only served nothing but trouble in the first chapter.. these two could've changed, but the tragedy is that they were probably the most likely to die....

Loved the execution honestly,
I was expecting a horse related one since we knew he hated his talent,, but this style of execution heightened his most despair inducing quality to the point of death: his fear, how he will never be able to conquer them and will die because of it.

(EDIT: Well… that was an episode for sure lmao I still hoped Nico would get the consequences of his actions but oh well cool episode!! I sure do hope my other 2 favs don’t die soon!)
1• Nico is somehow gonna get harmed in Ace’s execution (like fuyuhiko did), I’m not sure if it will be Ace trying the drag Nico down with him or the execution itself.
2• David actually got Teruko’s secret but lied for some reason, when Teruko said “My family” for her secret he did have a sinister smile bc I think he knows she’s lying
3• I feel like since Eden wasn’t the culprit this trial and seems like she has a bigger role in the story I think she will either be a survivor or die in chapter 5 (pls not be the mastermind that would be cruel lol)
(As I said these are my predictions based on reading and hearing theories in comments and videos so I didn’t come up with them mostly, still sorry if they don’t make sense)
@@AriJrr Eden being a clockmaker does seem kinda suspicious given the killing game is a TV show. It’s not a perfect parallel, but it’s still close.

Normally if there was no leads I would say it happens later, but since Xander tried to kill Teruko and once I heard someone mention that his eye wound could have been caused by Eden (I don’t remember the reason, but Xander mentioned it was from deleted memories so it has to be important) so my guess is either Eden is the mastermind trying to get rid of teruko or Eden knows something that teruko is related to the killing game (David’s motive being terukos would match that too)
Tbh my mastermind suspects are Teruko, Veronika(she’s so suspicious that she is not suspicious lol), Eden and Whit (I hope it’s not whit lol, I’m sus of him bc he defended David&Eden and they turned out to be innocent and also he did make the “hanging out” joke but I do believe that was just a joke GOD PLS TELL ME IT ISNT WHIT AND I HAVE BEEN JUST READING TOO MANY THEORIES-)

david is lying, the secret said that she blames herself for the death of her parents and siblings, but she says she only has one brother, teruko and xander's secrets are switched. it makes more sense for xander to have that as his secret considering his extra video, and teruko likely knew it wasnt hers but also knew it was a horrible move for her to say that her secret was causing the killing game, especially when she still cant piece together what her true secret was.

Also, glad I don't feel crazy anymore for thinking Whit is sus. That one sprite felt like way more than just shock or fear at not escaping, he felt very sinister. I know there's some Mastermind speculation, but even if I do think it's possible, I'm shocked if they hint at it this early. Then again, this chapter proved that normal Danganronpa conventions are here to be played with, so who knows? Or maybe Whit is just about to go crazy for some reason.
Anyway, keep up the great work! I don't know when we can expect more, but I'm going to miss DRDT while we wait for chapter 3! But also since you seem to be dealing with a lot, please don't feel pressured to deliver too fast, please take your time to make sure it can be the best it can. :)
25:23 Is this the first time we saw Teruko shedding tears? If it is, I do like it how she waited until everyone's gone to finally break.

Lowkey seeing this used in chapter 3 CALLING IT NOW WHIT CHAPTER.3 KILLER
@@FlowcyyDoubt it, I think Charles is going to die in the next chapter and Whit's going to have a breakdown.
why Charles 😭
@@gumbo34 We both know another couple is going to die at some point (it's a custom in Danganronpa). Between Whit and Charles, Charles had completed his character arc of learning to put his faith in others, Whit still has the "Your mother is dead and you omit that truth" thing going on.
It makes the most sense to further his development by having Charles die and Whit having to go through another loss.
Plus, I like to believe that Charles' phobia of blood and Veronika's horror movie collection will be used again in a future case
I WAS EATING WHILE WATCHING THE EPISODE AND I GENUINELY CHOKED ON MY FOOD IN SHOCK
We got monoTV angst before gta 6😭😭😭
And with this episode, Drdt is officially my favorite fangan (It already was before but the writing, animations, editing and voice actings reaffirm it)
Ace was my favorite character, but this execution was so creative, and Teruko is an amazing protagonist who really cares about the people who died in this killing game.
Great job Dev! Please take care and rest!! 🫶🫶
What an episode.
Ill first give my thoughts on the current episode, before giving my overall opinion on chapter 2.
This was, I think, the perfect way to end chapter 2
First of all, there were so many layers of irony in this episode.
starting off, Levi being hit by the bullet.
"Death by illness."
I think his friend died by illness. each other part of the execution represents some part of the killing game except this. However, death by illness would fit if his friend died by an illness.
"Death by fire"
Teruko mentioned setting the building on fire in chapter 1 to get MonoTV to let them out, saving them all, and now it nearly kills him here. Teruko's attempts to save others always fails, afterall.
"Death by car accident"
he said in chapter 1 "what if im too short and the driver doesnt see me and runs me over and I die-"
"Death by falling"
Ace survived his murder attempt by falling from the ceiling. He saved his life by falling, now he nearly dies by falling.
"Death by murder"
I dont think I need to point this out.
"Death by drowning,"
referring to the fact that he used the relaxation pond to make Arei weigh more when she dies (hey, also references death by falling) and frame Nico, and framing Nico was ultimately his downfall because of the tape.
""Death by lightning"
referring to how lightning never strikes twice, as does MonoTV attempting to execute someone didnt work twice.
"Death by execution."
Also, obvious.
and his death from a fear induced cardiac arrest.
Congratulations, you got the record of longest DRDT comment!
Please, applaud for yourself
@@toniannsmith932
Seconded.
YES, PLS LET HIM PULL A KIRUMI, PLLLLLSSS
I WANT TO SEE HIS FACE IN HIS LAST MOMENTS AS MUCH AS I CAN BC I KNOW I'LL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I hope he does. I mean he won’t make it, but I rather he try and go out in a blaze of glory.
If he does try to make a run for it, I can imagine his execution being something akin to the Headless Horseman myth.

love how the ace fans are all coming together now in times of hardship 🙏
i feel sick. why is terukos talk w/ monotv oddly comforting? at the same time that i hate how logical monotv is, i love it, it resonates very deeply within me. ily teruko
This has got to be one of the BEST trail conclusions I’ve ever seen
if ace died of cardiac arrest then i think he would’ve been dying from the start. bc in cardiac arrest you have a 90% chance of surviving and it lessens by 10% every min. nd there’s 9 rooms he has to get out of meaning he took 1 min to get out of each room. especially because he got very, very, very scared at “death of execution”
very ironic how in some of aces sprite work he is clutching at his chest and he dies of basically a heart attack is extremely well thought out if that was some foreshadowing
Reminder to keep things civil in the comments, no matter what happens. Don't think I didn't see the Eden slander from the previous episode 💀, and I say this as an Ace fan. Eden might remind me a bit of Tsumugi from v3 but let's not villainize a character because you want to protect another one💅
Also I wonder if the missing stepladder/step stool + the scratches on the playground floor will be explained
🧍♀
I kinda love how some people thought Eden would commit a tsumugi but the entire crime has no room for interruptions
Spoiler
I just love how MonoTV use Ace phobia for his execution
This class trial and this series with all the episodes you've released is an amazing accomplishment. You should definitely be proud of what you've achieved with this series
That execution was genuinely flabbergasting
LITERALLY, ALSO HELLO BRIO
Dude, Ace definitely had a crush on Levi- or really wanted to be his friend-
Either way, dude cared for Levi
SPOILERS!
This is easily one of the most creative danganronpa executions ever. While Ace didn’t experience a lot of physical torture like Min, the mental torture of his death and execution getting dragged out is not only extremely disturbing, but unique.

@@veryokusernameboo
Yeah you could say this was one of the most cruel ways you could give Ace's death. And ofc the irony just writes itself with him being scared of dying.

Omg corza
ace's "third person he is responsible for their death" statement has me questioning. was he saying he was responsible for his own death?
ace, arei and levi
he was talking about himself tho
I think he's talking about his dead friend he mentioned in episode 13. We don't know what happened to him yet, but it seems like Ace blamed himself for the death of his friend
Congratulations,Ace, you managed to enter my top 10 from this fangan. You'll be remembered forever.😢
THIS WAS SUCH AN INTRIGUING ENDING AND I LOVE ITTT
the parallels to past chapters is rllu interesting too!
For example, In the prologue, Teruko saved Levi, and now Levi saved Teruko. In Chapter 1, Teruko was (implicably) the first one to leave out of everyone, and now she is the last to leave. (There may be more I simply did not notice)
drdt dev, VAs, and everyone who contributed, you should be proud of yourselves for this masterpiece.
Then who was it? The red-haired girl Teruko remembers? Arthuro?
@@prowolf633 Teruko most likely
@@aaaaende4723 yeah that secret is so Terukos the family secret is definitely Xander’s due to his whole survivors guilt with his family
@@prowolf633 It makes too much sense that teruko has that secret
My thoughts exactly. It actually reads Teruko, which is why he's going to believe that Xander was right to try and kill her and he'll be tormenting her moving forward
Great work on Chapter 2, and such a well-done finale for it!
I like how the Despair Time executions dont use the regular Danganronpa execution music
I like it
