Melilla's where I live, it's my earth, my house, and seeing these trip reports makes me happy as they make me know that my earth is interesting for other people who don't live here. Great vid!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. The ATR are a pretty good little aircraft. Love the lower altitude so better views and the cabin is pretty comfortable (except for the temperature, which was rather warm). Look forward to sharing reviews in the future. Cheers :)
Oh wow that's an interesting route for Air Nostrum. I thought that would be done my mainline Iberia instead. Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed the flight review.
I've never seen boarding only at the back of the plane. Other than that, it seems similar to the Bombardier Q400 I flew in the past. Neat trip to a part of the world I know nothing about.
Wow, very surprised you took this rare route! Well done! Regarding taking off with tail wind, it’s done quite often as long as the winds are within the limits for the aircraft types. There is many reasons why, but mostly what is easier for the controllers to manage with the departure routes, noise abatement, etc.. Maybe some local from Seville knows better!
Hi Carl! I've seen Air Nostrum around (and also Volotea, and in the old days Spanair) but never really thought about flying them. But I'll be in Spain again in the fall, so I'm excited to film those upcoming trip reports! - Red
Hope you liked this flight review and gave you some inspiration for your own trip reports. I flew them twice while in Spain, the next review will be out in a few weeks. Happy travels.
Thanks Taylor. It sue was a surprise to have IFE on the flight, and a nice touch. I'm just not sure any of the flights would be long enough to watch one of the movies.
Melilla’s city founded by Spanish almost 300 years before the concept of Morocco created, so thats a lie, evenmore Moroccan kingdom wants to annex us, so the real occupiers are you!

Great report! I like Air Nostrum because I flew with them from Frankfurt to Madrid and it was a great experience.

When wind is very light. The airport reverts to a prefered direction regarding runway use.
Hope so you enjoy Melilla

The ATR series only have passenger doors at the rear. The front is the cargo hold. It’s definitely a unique boarding style to the aircraft type

Thanks for the info on the tailwind departure. Yes it was a bit of a strange route to take. It was an interesting weekend in Melilla.

Dope flight report!
Quick tip: it’s pronounced *MeliYA. The double L (ll) in Spanish is pronounced as the *y* sound! 🙂
Excellent trip report! Pretty to cool to have some sort of IFE on such a small regional aircraft. Looking forward to the next video.

The city is Moroccan and occupied by Spain

It is not Morocco, it is Spain, what you Moroccan colonialists have occupied is the Sahara.
Melilla was part of Spain even before Morocco existed.
....what a terrible diction/accent ....
