2 Player Pinball Machine Build, Part 9 (Improving the Flippers)

- This is the ninth part of a multi part series that shows the construction process of the 2 player pinball machine. It's a game where 2 players will duel sending marbles over the hill to their opponents side. Each player starts with 5 marbles and can decide when to bring them into play. This will be a really fun machine to play with family and friends. The machine will be themed to Game of Thrones and challenge the players in a game of Ice vs Fire. In this video, I improve the performance of the flippers so they work correctly 100 percent of the time. I can't wait to see how this project will turn out! Follow along as I build this machine!

Hey Ben, I've really enjoyed this series. I'm hoping there is a part 10. I even had my wife watching this series, and she is NOT a big youtube follower. She is an bar/arcade pinballer though. If I had more time I considered paralleling your build with a Rock vs Country theme, and a couple microswitch triggered MP3 players.

Use metal springs not rubber bands.
invest once, and you do not have to worry about it anymore. 😉
I-semB TH-cam *but there not as easy to adjust as you have to get specific sizes and if he wants to put them somewhere else it can be hard to correctly fit them*
I might suggest using extension springs (springs with hooks/loops on both sides) instead of rubber bands. They will last longer.
Color the player 1 controls in blue while the player controls in red

How's this for a project: A 3D mechanized labyrinth machine with a Jason Voorhees theme. You have to guide a ball-bearing to avoid obstacles aside from holes in the floor like getting trapped in the prongs of a pitchfork, getting thrown off the playing field by slashing machetes, landing in a rowboat with a rotting area in the floor, and if you time it just right your marble goes straight through one of the eye-holes in Jason's mask and fake blood oozes out and you've won the game.
But the thing is, unlike a standard labyrinth game, this has a sort of Camp Crystal Lake diorama setting with hills, rotting buildings, a deep lake, etc. All sorts of twists and surprises inside.
Wow, that is a 6 month difference between Part 8 and Part 9.
