What a lovely person. Her simple, sweet, unpretentious and delightful way of expressing her love for her teacher and his teachings is inspiring. I would like to meet her.

Thank you everyone. I really enjoyed Rick's way with this interview. Rick is such a very gracious soul. I just want to thank him again for hosting me and William Samuel. I hope you all enjoy this. Or at the very least are encouraged to explore William's teachings. William is brilliant and he is the 'real thing'. His message charts a course that is beyond the 'non-duality" of "there is no mountain" into the "is a mountain" again place. It is about uncovering your Original Self. This Child-Self sits next to Reality. It knows how to live in the world, sweet and easy, full and happy. When we find the Child we find Simplicity. It is a Divine Flow in the Living Equation. Anyway, just a thank you to everyone

Thanks for the props Glenemma. When did our spiritual world become fair game for attacks? Your posts are appreciated here. Why the sniping and oneupsmanship y'all? This is 'the good news' we've been waiting for, drink it deeply in....your heart will smile ;-)

Here is the written story on William Samuel and Ramana Maharshi. William Samuel tells us this story in his book titled “The Awareness of Self-Discovery”
“Some years ago I was honored to be the first American student of a renowned teacher in India. For fourteen days a group of us sat at the feet of this "Master," during which time he spoke not one word-not so much as a grunt-until the final day when he bade us farewell and assured us we had learned much.
And to my surprise, I had. It took months before the seeds of those silent days began to sprout one by one, revealing that there are indeed many things for which the uptight, recondite babble of books and teachers is more hindrance than a help.”
The rest of the story about how I discovered who this Master was is found here The Secret Revealed: woodsongjournalnotes.blogspot.com/2013/06/secret-revealed.html

Model of Reality - which model you believe in?
    1. There is only one reality. Everything is dependent on and is part of this one reality. Nothing stands apart from this one reality. Nothing has independent or separate existence.
As a result, there no souls. No real birth. No real death. There is no real, separate, independent free will because everything is part of one reality. Nothing stands apart to have a real, separate, independent free will.
    2. There are many separate, independent realities. Each virus has an independent, separate reality (soul), as does each bacteria, as does each mosquito, plant, cow and each human. Rocks, stars, galaxies, planets have no souls. Only those who breathe have separate souls.
There are many separate, independent realities.
    3. Only humans have souls (separate, independent reality and independent free will). Each human has it.
This independent soul enters the embryo at the time of conception.
    4. Only humans have souls (separate, independent reality and independent free will). Each human has it.
This independent soul enters the baby's body at the time of the birth.
    5. Only humans have souls (separate, independent reality and independent free will). Each human has it.
This independent soul enters the baby's body at the time of the birth.
    6. Only humans have souls (separate, independent reality and independent free will). Each human has it.
Many of these independent souls are already present in humans as semen and eggs.
    7. There is one reality and there are also many other independent, separate realities (souls).
There is one God and there is also an independent, separate real I, you, starving children, fat bankers, good traditional teachers and fraudulent neo advaita teachers.
    8. Every particle, every atom, every sub atomic particle, every cell has a separate, independent soul.

*A 1.0 maybe on the new -3 to +3 scale. Disclaimers at the end of the comment.*
Cozy conversation and light banter with Grandma. Too long though. I am not against long talks, Rick, if the length is necessary to go in depth, but I would venture to say that these 2 hours wer filled with 30 % "Ahhh"s and "Ohhhs" and "sooooo beautiful". Oh well, I guess I am getting increasingly allergic to the stereotypical US american exaggeratedly emotional declamation, and also my philosophical bent didn't get anything out of this. But couldn't she have spend these 2 hours on relating more of William ?
It was good to have heard of William Samuel for the first time, that guy must have been interesting.
Apart from that greetings to Mrs. Jones, no criticism of her person, she is as others here have said.
_About the rating: anything below and including 0 means by and large a waste of time, and anything below 0 is not only worthless but damaging to the world. For comparison, on that scale, Francis Bennett would be a +2 or more and Harri Aalto would be roughly a tentative + 2 - 2.5. Not coming up with original, independent cosmological insights bans any interviewee from > 2.0 ratings as a matter of principle._
*General Disclaimer:* the rating _pertains to an interview, not to the interviewee_. If the rating is high it means merely and exclusively that I consider the interview to be of high value relative to the stated purpose of the channel, and that it is therefore no waste of time to listen to the interview. It would _not_ imply that whatever the interviewee speaks is the truth (as if I was the arbiter over that) or that you should follow him/her or accept whatever that person offers. _That is particularly in need of emphasis if that would be an expensive enterprise_ !

I've listened to this conversation twice now. Sandy is claiming not to be a teacher. I looked at her website and it doesn't look like she's leading workshops and that whole thing. I don't like thinking along these lines but....her 'level of consciousness ' or 'depth of realization' seems to be incredibly high, at least to me. How refreshing to hear someone NOT using the usual jargon and giving some huge spiritual resume. A simple, beautiful person who was lucky enough to find her teacher. She seems thoroughly blessed to me.

    • @TheSoteriologist
      @TheSoteriologist 9 ปีที่แล้ว

brazfan As my rating commentary says, I am not criticizing or even really commenting on her, let alone judging her spiritual status in any way. It is just hard for me to listen to two hours of this style of declamation, and the information gleaned could probably have been covered in 30 min.

    • @brazfan
      @brazfan 9 ปีที่แล้ว

Soteriologe, I'm confused. I thought we were just here for spiritual conversation and friendship. Why a 'rating system'. And what are your credentials or authority for having such a thing? Not that they would mean anything to me. Subtle capacities are the ones most valuable for discernment in spiritual matters. Not whether or not she reminds you of your grandma or how much time was taken up. My 'authority' is subtle discrimination, not gross facts. If I were looking for a teacher, and I am, I would like to spend time with Sandy. And for 'good reason'. From what I can 'see' she is a transmitter of joy and grace and growth. A rare bird here among TH-cam videos.

brazfan You say: _"I'm confused"_, and yes, it seems you are indeed confused. If you had simply read and understood the disclaimers with which I routinely put out *every* rating, you would have realized how totally off target your commentary is. And since even after I emphasized an aspect of these disclaimers a second time around they didn't seem to penetrate your thick skull, I have to state those a third time around: *_"As my rating commentary says, I am not criticizing or even really commenting on her, let alone judging her spiritual status in any way. It is just hard for me to listen to two hours of this style of declamation, and the information gleaned could probably have been covered in 30 min."_*
I am not among those who claim that spiritual inclinations makes people stupid necessarily. But reactions such as yours would help such a prejudice. And I also observe that spiritual inclinations don't seem to change much about the usual stupidity prevalent almost everywhere.
As regards the "what for" of rating systems, you may want to do some research on why social systems develop such in all kinds of matters. I am afraid that if you are not familiar with such social feedback systems by now, no amount of explaining would help you understand.
      Have a good weekend !

Dude, why the attack? I am honestly and sincerely asking valid questions. I do not think you are out of line in your 'rating system', I just, as you point out, do not understand it's signifigance. My skull actually is not thick. I am unusually sensitive in these areas and attacking others is not helpful to human growth or evolution or whatever your point is. I have nothing but goodwill toward you and everyone else here. Please, for the good of your stated point, drop the attack mode. That will contribute to lessening damage in the world. An apology is in order.

i think if rick gives an opinion he always tries to give a nuanced opinion wich leaves a lot of room for discussion and own opinions. he doesnt claim anything in my opinion. Sometimes he interrupts people too often in my opinion , but thats my opinion :D. But i think he asks profound questions and im gratefull for the wonderfull interviews!! thanks greetz

I am not sure if there is a real basis for labelling those who consider "separate individual existence" an illusion as "their pendulum" hasn't fully swung. Even if Sri Mahesh Yogi, Sri Adyashanti and Sri Francis Benett thought and said so, it doesn't automatically make it true.
I have no problem if someone precedes his/her opinion with "I think", "In my view", "as far as I can tell", "I speculate", "I guess"... because, it makes it clear that one is just making a (potentially) well-informed guess. However, when a statement is made as one truly knows he truth, I wonder what the source is.
Sri Mahesh Yogi, Sri Adyashanti and Sri Francis Benett might be all very popular and successful. However, popularity and success is not always synonymous with truth. Sri Satya Sai Baba was probably more popular than these three.

"...when a statement is made as one truly knows he truth, I wonder what the source is."
"...popularity and success is not always synonymous with truth."
I have to agree with these. My English skills do not reach far enough to grasp this: "...an illusion as 'their pendulum' hasn't fully swung".
