this is all speculation, but i think it's more economical to just recycle all the parts and buy a new bike. the only reason someone would or should do this is for sentimentality

I always wanted to convert my 8-speed hub to a derailleur system. I was researching for months if this kind of derailleur hanger even exists. The guys in my local Bike shops told me that there is no way to do that but apparently there is! After I saw your video and the derailleur hanger you used, I bought one and I'm finally going to convert my bike, so thank you so much!

Great restoration! One comment I’d make is that I think one of the cotter pins was in the wrong way around which is why the crank arms weren’t 180 degrees. Easy mistake to make as I’ve worked on a lot of cottered bikes. Love the cotter press, really want one but can’t justify it right now.

Hay Andrew Loving the new channel. I really liked youre idea of sand blasting through the stencil, shame id didnt work out. Could you try getting some metal acid etching liquid or alternatively try electro etching. I think you can do it cheaply with a salt water Q-tip a 9v batter and some alligator clips.

    Great video.
    Two things to mention:
    1. Never thought that Positron cables are still produced/sold (it's such an old technology), so at the beginning of the video i was shocked when you cut the old cables
    2. The new grips are mounted a bit incorrectly. Those "finger ridges" should be positioned downwards, because in this direction would be unconfortable.

Very impressive on a true restoration! It seems as though other restoration videos disassemble the bike, paint the frame and reassemble with all new parts. Maybe I miss seeing the complete condition of the parts but I have a hard time believing EVERYTHING needs to be replaced when just a going over with 0000 steel wool would do the trick. I did like the fact that the frame was powder coated since it is much more durable than paint.
