Another insightful, considered and well written review Charlotte. And you seem to have done exactly what Mr Kleon advocates with your wonderful Quilling Quarter project. And it is so true that the process is as interesting and informative as the product… on a trip to Amsterdam I visited Rembrandt’s house and there was a guide in period costume in his studio who explained how Rembrandt used to mix his paints and used props in his compositions. It was by far my favourite part of that visit. And one my fondest memories of my late father was standing for hours as a child in his studio watching him work; he was a graphic artist. I hugely admire those of you dedicated enough to not only find the time to practice your craft but also the time and energy to document it, film it, publish it on social media and follow up with all the added activity that ensues. I am so so grateful to those that do as I have learned so much by following such people, like your good self, who are generous enough with their time, energy and creativity to share. So thank you again Charlotte and I will definitely buy this book. 😘
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Orla! I have to admit it was pretty scary to start a (very public) project as a beginner and share the process with people far more skilled than me. But I am so glad I've done it and being able to interact with other quilling artists, like you! I'm so glad you've enjoyed this process too and being able to watch the evolution :) Hope you enjoy reading 'Show your work' when you get to it. It'd be fantastic to see your beautiful creations featured in The Quilling Guild magazine one day xoxox
