The AI haunted house sort of exists, Hauntify is an AR haunted house, (you might find it scary if you don't read the instructions first). The bing Copilot is pretty good on quest to help out with games sometimes, but it would be better to have another AI built into the OS, especially a multimodal LLM. , Thing is though, I can imagine a situation a year or two away where meta get in trouble again for doing things with peoples' data throgh the AI

Oh I totally can see a scenario where Meta gets in hot water putting Llama into Quest and hence why I think they've waited. Same with dev access to the passthrough cameras. Only takes one P.O.S. developer to create a firestorm.

AI is the hot new selling point for everything in the tech world. If implemented properly, it can benefit our day to day lives but it's not a tool that the masses know what or even how to benefit with ease. It all seems like a gimmick so far unless it's a specific use case with it's current state. Ready for NPCs to start using AI for more fluid conversations, or like you mentioned, utilizing your home for games. That would be so fun.

Yeah for the longest time it felt like a solution in need of a problem to me. It's a great convenience tool, which may help in keeping people in headsets longer, but I think we're years away from it being ubiquitous and in everyday usage by the general population. Having said that, is it better to be early or late?

@@liveopenmike Oh for sure. Definitely agree with you on that. I'm just glad there are so many different people and companies trying this path as it is bound to be revolutionary at some point in a way that we probably have not even thought of yet.

Another thing is how we as the people go from typing a expressed art to Ai being able to see where your thoughts process could've came from.

Assistive AI can help creative people create new games, it is a great building tool. They just need to integrate this into things like blender.

I'm going to have one of the developers from my job on the podcast soon to specifically talk about this. He's a big AI nerd (in a good way) and has already been using AI in some low level code generation.

I respect what Sony has done in the VR space.they were the first to provide VR to the masses without requiring thousands of dollars in equipment to do so.I think PSVR2 is very impressive as well
With that being said,Sony just can’t afford to have their best developers tied up for years at a time, making games for VR that aren’t going to earn much profit,if any at all.from a financial standpoint,it just doesn’t make sense.honestly,I was surprised that Sony even made PSVR2.I know these.I think PSVR2 will be Sony’s last VR headset for a while.after VR becomes more popular, they may jump back into the VR space later on down the road

I actually like the approach they took with Horizon: Call of the Mountain. A separate game (with separate characters) set in the same universe. I think they could outsource their IPs and do that all day long. Most of their franchises have a decent sized roster of side characters they could spin off into solo adventures (like the Far Cry & Metal Gear series have done).
So spinoff VR only entries for The Last of Us, God of War, etc. developed by separate studios like Vertigo Games on Metro Awakening. Wish they did more of that.

it's a symbolic horizon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .(new app symbol).
where meta will be in relation to Horizon OS. I am assuming they will try and position it the same way Microsoft is behind Windows, or maybe like , but not to the degree, the way Alphabet is to google.
as far as pivoting goes it is a symptom of the larger problem of "line must always go up and be an ever increasing slope"
Apple continues to be obstinate when it comes to user wants and needs. IpadOS is the perfect example where there are dedicated users screaming for years about needed functionality, not macOS on iPad, that has just gone ignored. So it does not make me very hopeful on the things we have criticisms of in Vision OS.

You're so right about "line must always go up" and it's a shitty business reality right now.

I forget who said that they said the difference between Apple is they started from the bottom 🔺up and Meda started from the top going down🔻

The store is the bane of my VR existence. Searching is so messed up.
