Awesome rebuild!!! U guys are fantastic !!! Thanks guys !!! I 1st read about this Jagdpanther in Military Machines International , Volume 5 Issue 4 dated September 2005..There could have been many more of these tanks around if they were'nt cut-up at the end of WW2 or used on the firing range...
It's the Jagdpanther in Imperial war museum that is penetrated by several shells and cut open for interior viewing- i've seen it IRL. This is a different Jagdpanther. Nice rebuild- well done!
Awesome machine, great to see it not only in fantastic condition but actually in running condition. It sounded like the engine was stone cold at first but you could tell it was warming up near the end of the video, she was just purring when the driver had it under throttle. Speakin' of, great job that driver did: Huge beast, 45 tons on treads, driving it backwards off a skinny ramp with no side view or rear view mirrors, or even back up cameras...
Yes, it has a MG; a 7,92mm on the right side of the main gun (radio operators position). It's covered and not visible in this clip. And it has a small "pistol port" to the rear- between the hatch and the showel.
I remember when I built a model of this tank by Tamiya when I was about 9 or 10. One of the meanest looking tanks ever to crawl the earth. Awesome that there is still a few around.
The Tanks-Ardennes Offensive series has a pretty objective discussion of the Jagdpanzer by a couple of the experts at Bovington. It had impressive firepower but by no stretch was it a well-engineered vehicle. It had all of the mobility and reliability problems of the Tiger II. Lack of maneuverability combined with limited traverse was a serious weakness at anything but extreme ranges. Constant maneuvering for firing position gave its position away. It was easy to spot and hit from the air.
This video kind of shows how hard it was, for one of these types of weapons, to aquire a target. Since the entire vehicle had to be moved, it was a tough job.
This was a fantastic renovation project. Is hard to believe that this tank destroyer was actually rescued from an army firing range. I hear that plans have been made to renovate the other Jagdpanther that was lying next to it.
Incredible restoration project. How they could bring such a machine back to life? It's not like there's alot of spare parts and mechanical manuals laying around for Jagdpanthers. Greatest tank destroyer of WWII, on July 30th 1944 3 Jagdpanthers from 654 AT knocked out over half a squadron of 15 Churchills in under two minutes.
Actually those are good colors for forests in Europe. It is meant to be in cover as it is a tank destroyer. I like this series of videos but I wish they'd show these tanks going closer to top speed. I've seen film the Germans made of a Panther at top speed and that was impressive!
@gcrav The Jagdpanther had some problems, but not as frequent as the Tiger II because of it's Tiger I engine. The Jagdpanther had much less armor, reducing a lot of stress on the engine. It was fairly fast for a German tank destroyer.
It would need much less than a Jagdpanther to give a Sherman crew nightmares. I really pity those American tank crew from ww2 against vastly superior German tanks outgunned and completely outclassed. The name 'Purple heart boxes' was quite apt. R.I.P the dead soldiers on both sides. Gone but not forgotten. On a side note.. what a beast of a tank this is. Imagine facing a Jagdtiger. Jagdpanther on steroids.
from watching this you can see why our boys got tank phobia. hard to think this was fighting on the battlefields nearly 65 years ago. the germans had some good weapons
Sherman knocking out a Jagdpanther? I doubt you could find even a single account of that happening. It was probably the best and deadliest tank destroyer of the war. Fast, well armoured and a night mare for main armament.
The biggest tank (I believe) was the German Maus. Only a couple were built, and never saw any action. And your right - the Jadg Panther was a tank destroyer, not a tank. The fixed turret gives it away.
@YaYzIwInZ My mistake. I was thinking of the JagdTiger, which had the 128 mm gun. All of the late war gun boxes were produced in desperation to get mobile guns to the front ASAP. The Hetzer seems to be the only one that worked out well because it was maneuverable, versatile, a small target, and relatively reliable.
@4shacks1house you do know that the first to use sloped armor in ww2 was the french and the germans first did it after they encountered the T34 which they tried to copy with the VK3002 (DB).
A tank is a tracked, armoured fighting vehicle designed for front-line combat which combines operational mobility and tactical offensive and defensive capabilities. So i think that saying that Jagdpanther is a tank is not a total non-sense ,for everyday people .
What I find funny watching all these tank clips is the people giving directions. One thing that made German tanks so great was radios. Hand held 2 ways, nextels, even just a phone everyone has nowadays. Yet they flap there arms and yell as loud as they can.
@formeandyou83 It's only slow because they are moving it carefully off the trailer so as not to damage it, the jagdpanther had a topspeed of 46 km/h so it's certainly nt a slow machine.
I just say that even if the word "tank" is not suitable for pure specialists , for common people watching this Jagdpanther it's the first word they have in mind. This definition is not mine , found it in a dictionnary ;o)
What a beautiful, magnificent tank destroyer! Love the sound of it's engine, sounds awesome! The Jagdpanther is one of the great German WWII tanks!
The Jagdpanther is a great-looking machine !!!!
This is one of the best, if not the best sounding engine I've ever heard!
I can't get enough of these video's, just seeing such a beuatifull piece of history rumbling over the field again.
Dear Santa...
Good armour, Great mobility, reliable, Lowish profile, Great gun, unreal optics.
Just a damn great TD
I'd love to meet the guys who restored this legend ,to pay them a beer and just say "u did a wonderful job guys!" :o)
It's the Jagdpanther in Imperial war museum that is penetrated by several shells and cut open for interior viewing- i've seen it IRL. This is a different Jagdpanther. Nice rebuild- well done!
Those who took their time & money to restore this beauty ,deserve RESPECT :p
wow, that engine sound
i love these peoples which burrow dig out the history
just listern to those ramps strain under the weight!!! just hear that engine saying i will not die and go to the scrape yard. a fantastic video
It is no more a tank (or tank killer) , it is a piece of war history
Awesome machine, great to see it not only in fantastic condition but actually in running condition. Speakin' of, great job that driver did: Huge beast, 45 tons on treads, driving it backwards off a skinny ramp with no side view or rear view mirrors, or even back up cameras...
Incredible the fact that this technology is more than 60 years old.

I saw this tank at Bovington last year. It truly is a monster of a tank
Nice sound! Thanks for uploading!
The people at Bovington deserve a serious round of applause for getting this Jagdpanther and the Tiger up and running again.
I remember when I built a model of this tank by Tamiya when I was about 9 or 10. One of the meanest looking tanks ever to crawl the earth. Awesome that there is still a few around.

The beast yet lives, and it's growl is glorious.
Despite being a WW2 tank, this vehicle looks amazingly contemporary, even if it doesn't have a turret.
Great, thanks, still have not seen it in the flesh ....
This video kind of shows how hard it was, for one of these types of weapons, to aquire a target. Since the entire vehicle had to be moved, it was a tough job.
einer der schönsten und guten panzer den es damals gab neben Tiger , Königs tiger und panther : -)
glorious to see this tank killer still alive and can still actually fire it's main gun.
This was a fantastic renovation project. Is hard to believe that this tank destroyer was actually rescued from an army firing range. I hear that plans have been made to renovate the other Jagdpanther that was lying next to it.
The jagdpanther was a great looking machine!
This cat's claws are still razorsharp, love hearing that engine roaring again.
An absolutely beautiful machine. 5/5, but if I could make it 10/5 I would!!
Thank you for uploading.
sighs...I just want to give it a hug
@CrazyVaniaMCC
Pretty hard when the Jagdpanther went in to production Februray 1944. The Battle of Kurk happened from July-August 1943.
Incredible restoration project. How they could bring such a machine back to life? It's not like there's alot of spare parts and mechanical manuals laying around for Jagdpanthers. Greatest tank destroyer of WWII, on July 30th 1944 3 Jagdpanthers from 654 AT knocked out over half a squadron of 15 Churchills in under two minutes.
beautiful tank destroyer, probably the most useful of the war
Moving condition ... super!
wow, looks like it just came off the assembly line. beautifully restored.
all german engines sound so smooth
I play world of tank and one of my signature tanks is this. Thanks for the video.
@@CarLos-yi7ne lol
@@CarLos-yi7ne I think he has some 2000 hours+ now
I have DJ headphones and had the volume up full blast.. holy shit it is better than music.
omg that jagdpanther sounds awesome.

Holy Sh8t, it is ALIVE.
The Sports Tank of Tanks.
SUPER 👍
What a BEAST!
@gcrav The Jagdpanther had some problems, but not as frequent as the Tiger II because of it's Tiger I engine. The Jagdpanther had much less armor, reducing a lot of stress on the engine. It was fairly fast for a German tank destroyer.
Its a R.E.M.E. post war Jagd. built at M.A.N. under the british, found in a firing range some years ago
One of my most favorite tanks of all time. I'd like to see a new line of these someday. Maybe even bigger and badder! >:) 5/5 FOR SURE!
from watching this you can see why our boys got tank phobia. hard to think this was fighting on the battlefields nearly 65 years ago. the germans had some good weapons
WHAT A SOUND!
Maybach ich höre dich!
GEIL.....einfach nur geil!
It has been blown open though, by what I think was a 76mm gun. As well as having its side cut open to allow you to look into it.
I believe the 411 stands for how many people had to change their pants on the battlefield when they saw this monstor rumbling towards them.
Sherman knocking out a Jagdpanther? I doubt you could find even a single account of that happening. It was probably the best and deadliest tank destroyer of the war. Fast, well armoured and a night mare for main armament.
Listen to that engine purr.
Actually, it's the followup to that song; Maybach HL230 P30.
Just listen to that monster roar!
So when the description says "Mike Gibb's restored Jpanther" does that mean this is privately owned? Because that would be totally sweet...
The biggest tank (I believe) was the German Maus. Only a couple were built, and never saw any action.
And your right - the Jadg Panther was a tank destroyer, not a tank. The fixed turret gives it away.
Just listen to that engine purr.....
Ooops, sorry. Actually just after I made my comment I realised it wasnt the people bovington. Well done.
listen to that beast growl!
a Perflectly restored Jagdpanther like this deserves a much better camuflage like the late 44 3 colour ambush schemme.
@xXThePanzerXx In ww2 the most useful tank destroyer is the StuG 3
you need one hell of a trailer for transport :P nice vid =D
綺麗なヤークトパンターですね!まだ使えそうです!
si
beauty! I want drive in this!
if i ever come into ALOT of money ima try to buy that thing
Sadly it broke down before the show could start....shame shame shame!!!!!!
beautifal
Closer to, it must have been a nightmare rolling up in a Sherman and seeing anything beyond a Panzer 4 Ausf D!
@HeavyPanzer1 Its not a main battle tank, it was an ambush tank destroyer.
Even more scary; you would NOT see it. These things always had a way of being well camouflaged.
@YaYzIwInZ My mistake. I was thinking of the JagdTiger, which had the 128 mm gun. All of the late war gun boxes were produced in desperation to get mobile guns to the front ASAP. The Hetzer seems to be the only one that worked out well because it was maneuverable, versatile, a small target, and relatively reliable.
that things is a beast
lovely maybach
but the real beast is whats towing the trailer!
that is the best thing in german engineering!
I bet the jagdpanther can still beat new tanks with his big special armorpenetrating amo
size of it, its amazing...beauty
Sweet Maybach engine sound
@4shacks1house you do know that the first to use sloped armor in ww2 was the french and the germans first did it after they encountered the T34 which they tried to copy with the VK3002 (DB).

So i think that saying that Jagdpanther is a tank is not a total non-sense ,for everyday people .
Great to hear that heavy old petrol engine purr
If you can find them, they got for about 1.5-4mil in USD
Best tank destroyer in WW2
lucky man Mike Gibb is vey rare tank there
Mehr als das! Deutsche Dieselmotoren von früher würden heute noch ohne Probleme laufen.
What I find funny watching all these tank clips is the people giving directions. One thing that made German tanks so great was radios. Hand held 2 ways, nextels, even just a phone everyone has nowadays. Yet they flap there arms and yell as loud as they can.
No turret - its a tank destroyer
& they dont drive it fast because here in the uk we have a 30mph speed limit in built up areas.
Must have been a nightmare to be in Sherman if you knew that there was Jagdpanthers and Tigers around you :D
the panthers woudn't likely be any where near you when they destroyed you
@formeandyou83
It's only slow because they are moving it carefully off the trailer so as not to damage it, the jagdpanther had a topspeed of 46 km/h so it's certainly nt a slow machine.
ahh thanks, i didnt know that, cheers dude (Y)
@xXAlphaRevanXx Unfortunately, there were less than 500 made. Depending on which source you read, there were between 400-415 made.
I just say that even if the word "tank" is not suitable for pure specialists , for common people watching this Jagdpanther it's the first word they have in mind.
This definition is not mine , found it in a dictionnary ;o)
that's great... but will it blend?
It could depending where it hit. Modern tanks are pretty tough.
@natsplit I never said they were 'destroyed'. They were abandoned by their crew and ddestroyed because they're in-operable.
greeeeeaaaaaaaaaat sound =D
