As someone who does IT support at schools, vga and hdmi is the standard. Its very rare for any of the towers they buy to have display ports or dvi connectors. Some of the pcs they have only have vga and so you need to use a basic graphics card to add hdmi and dvi functionality.
@@szba98 In many cases VGA is not only good, it is essentially NECESSARY for projectors and external displays in many school and corporate environments. I WFH and was sent a pair of external monitors, the standard desktop displays the company uses, they are Dell, and they have 1 VGA and 1 HDMI, nothing else. They are 2019 models. In these environments NONE of the extra capabilities of "better" connections are used. We're still talking about 900-1080p displays at 60Hz still being standard. It gets the job done and they are cheap to replace when they are damaged or fail.
@@szba98 Well, a lot of monitors only practically have vga ports too as its all good a monitor having display ports and dvi but if your tower only shares a vga port with the monitor, which is often the case, you have to just cope with vga and tbh, teachers and pupils aren't really gonna notice the difference in quality
It makes sense since a large percentage of people who didn't lose their jobs during the pandemic were working from home (if they had jobs where you could) so they wanted the cheapest computer possible. You also had millions of kids doing learning from home and if you needed a computer for them, the cheapest would do for homework and such.

People won’t go out of their way to spend a lot of money on a pc or phone, for whatever reason products like these aren’t viewed as necessary by average consumers on a budget so they simply don’t prioritize spending extra money on them. The beats headphones are popular in contrast and most people buy them for style points, their phone, and simply their music. Everyone listens to music.. it isn’t too hard to believe no one seems to care about buying a product everyone is going to see
The thing is that beats are overpriced for what they are. They always seem on sale to deceive consumers that they are getting a quality product for cheap when beats are almost always on sale. You can find other brands around the same price that deliver way more and more affordable products that sound as good, if not, even better than beats for around half the price. Yes, I know that many people are okay with buying more affordable products when it comes to electronics. Still, when there is better bang for your buck options, they should do some research besides just organizing by best-selling and picking the top item in the results.

Since Windows 8/8.1 anything with less than a quad core, and 8GB of RAM for Windows is a no go, but I have a feeling if these machines came with a good lightweight Linux distro like Solus w/Budgie DE, and Libreoffice they would do just fine.
Currently having a fun best buy experience, ordered a power supply from them for a PC build. Everything else for the build from other companies got here a few days ago, but Best Buy has yet to have the PSU picked up by the shipping company... it's been a week since I ordered it, and they haven't even put it in the mail.
Say what y’all want. But the Beats headphones are DOPE. Sound great and are fashionable, can go with a outfit if you care about that. I only do if I’m like on vacation or not
Yes, my sister was looking for PCs and I guess she didn’t consult me and got that HP pc, she wanted to install a graphics card for the sims, but when I went to check I was greeted with the same surprise, a single stick of ram.
When it comes to headphones, the NUMBER ONE quality is COMFORT. I realize Austin sometimes forgets where he came from, but this is just common sense. If you can not wear them and be comfortable, they are pretty much paperweights.
As a ex Dell vendor who worked in Best Buy is that 1. people think good windows laptop cost $400 and Amazing laptops cost $600 without a sale. They think anything over that they should just get a apple computer. They all go right to the value wall and when you tell them they can do nothing more then use word and visit basic websites they say thats all they need. Its a lot of convincing to get to over to the mid tier 14" laptops that are $800 2. Desk Top towers are mostly purchased by older people, easiest sale you can get after telling them about the additional fee for a disk drive they buy it right up. 3. Something I heard a lot was "I just need to use this computer once or twice a month to pay my bills"
I just priced that HP system out on PCPP (list/pgMJ2m) with the cheapest options and it's $639, after a $40 MIR, and assuming they at least put a quality NVMe drive in it (WD Green in this case). The only reason it is that expensive, is the i7-12700 in that thing is $380 by itself, and the cheapest case listed on PCPP that fitr the parts is apparently $42, so I'm sure that could be even cheaper.
His point is that, for general use, there are far better devices for the money. You can get a laptop that has the keyboard, mouse, and screen for far less than the cost of this tower and it'll perform about the same when browsing Facebook or checking your email. He's moreso asking why such a simple desktop that costs so much is so popular when better options exist for less.
You've got to give it up to the Beats branding and marketing department that they're the best selling headphones 7 years after their peak relevance. Apple essentially killed the company and yet, still, there they are.
For the thousands of times they were complaining about the desktop, I think they looked at this system the wrong way This isn't the type of system the people use to game on. The only test the conducted was a CS:GO test, however, this is the type of computer that schools and offices would bulks of, with high RAM and storage options(not this particular option, but there's many other options of this same system with different ram and storage specs which actually work for something like that)
No self respecting IT department would buy hardware from HP, HP makes home user hardware. I've kitted out whole call centres and comparable hardware Dell Optiplex desktops would cost considerably less.
To be fair when people come into BestBuy and want a laptop, they don't expect to spend more than 300 $ people do now know/want to spend money on a good computer
Can I suggest a new rating scale? -Brick(just an object) -It Works(does its job basically) -Cookie(St*rb$cks Cookie, dropped a $) -Cake(Tasty for awhile, lost wallet) -Buffet(never let's you down, overdraft fee)
I absolutely LOVED my old HP Media Center PC (purchased in the early 2000s at Future Shop ...so perhaps even worse than Best Buy! 😁) but that was many years ago. If you're looking to dump that HP Envy TE01-3254, I know someone who could use it!
I'm surprised he left out the price of the OS on the desktop which should be about $100, add the K/B and mouse and suddenly the desktop ain't as bad as he makes it seem. With the $350t 12700, i's more like $700-750 and though it's still a a pile of crxp PC for enthusiasts..... just sayin.
Funny how in that Dropbox Capture ad, there was a 2009 iMac that doesnt even support Dropbox Capture because being too obsolete with MacOs X El Capitan... Just pretty funny for a tech brand...
@Austin Evens the Celeron isn’t the cheapest processor Intel. There is the atom that gives up everything for efficiency. But the Celeron is more for business work like spreadsheets, Internet, surfing and PowerPoint
Very insightful. My workplace buys devices on my recommendation and I'm pretty sure we bought both the windows laptop and boost mobile phone. The phone died within a year due to the battery no longer holding a charge. The computer works but its only been a few months.
Those cheap Asus machines are not the worst when it comes to $200 laptops. You'd be surprised to learn that they have indeed got NVMe slots in them (the E210, E410 and E510). I've found that yep, it makes a HUGE difference, even a cheapo SSD.
The HP Desktop at the start of the video is actually the same one I use lol. But I have the RTX 3060 12GB, 32GB of DDR4, and 11th Gen i7 Configuration. Frankly I think this thing is the best investment I've made but Jesus I can imagine it without a GPU and this video speaks for it when it's unbalanced..
Just for reference, I just bought a prebuilt from Best Buy for 1050 dollars so it’s not that much more with a Ryzen 5 ,16 GB of RAM 250 GB SSD with a 1 TB hard drive and a 3060 holy cow. This deal is so bad it’s crazy.
On Amazon last month I got a PC for $850 it was on sale Has Ryzen 5 5600G 16GB DDR4, RTX 3060 12GB, about 500GB nvME SSD.. I then bought another exact same copy of 8x2, so now I have 32GB of ram so now the price I say is $900
That desktop almost got me because I was all "If you don't want to game and you just want the basics, then it's fine". But almost 1000??? That's just highway robbery
If your gonna get headphones. Just get Astro A40s... They lasted me like 4 or 5 years of near constant use and the speaker blew out. Every headphone set I wore from the old Triton sets to Turtle Beach to Beats and Logitech all broke in the same exact spot. Where the adjustable size slider thing is. Cracked straight through every time after maybe 12-18 months of constant use. They were worth the 200$ then and are definitely worth the 130$ now.
That PC would work great for a less serious environment. For example, I go to a youth center with PC's that look like that. These types of PC's are simple and are easily repairable and are friendlier to younger kids. I'm not a needy person and I have a gaming setup, so a PC like that for casual work and school is something I would purchase.
i bought a computer similar to that, however, mine had a core i3 10100, a dvd drive, was used, came with keyboard and mouse, came with a 1080p 60hz monitor and only cost $200. you got ripped off.
Don't know why people hate intergrated graphics that much, running a Ryzen 5 and use thier intergrated graphics to game with, with around 50-60 fps. So...
You can actually swipe the fingerprint scanner to open and close notifications on android since i believe android 10, i've used it on my Xiaomi mi A2 lite for at least a few years now and its one of the best features a (almost) 5 years old phone like mine has
Honestly the Galaxy A03s for 60 bucks. You're not playing games on it, but 5 years of software support and it's very usable. It's the bare essentials phone.
It's more shocking that you were able to find any tech at a Best Buy. Ours seems to think it's a home depot/Verizon store. It's great if you need a ridiculously priced fridge, but if you need any tech, you gotta go to Amazon.
When Austin was harping on the HP desktop for the perceived lack of IO he forgot to look at the front of the machine. And when he was summing the monetary value of it he forgot to add the value of the cpu... now I'm not a huge fan of HP but it really seemed like Austin had decided to hate it.
In defense of the IO at my work not a single display has a display port. Also, HDMI uses the same signalling as DVI so you can use a an adapter. So, if you have an old display you use VGA and if you have a new display HDMI. Not having USB 3.0 is nonsense.
The real question is what's the best buy at worst buy?
Well right now probably the $99.99 touch screen chrome book lol

i have that one or something very similar. its one of the worst laptops i ever had. i still use it because most of the work i need it for is off of web browsers so it works for that purpose
I only do if I’m like on vacation or not
Yes, my sister was looking for PCs and I guess she didn’t consult me and got that HP pc, she wanted to install a graphics card for the sims, but when I went to check I was greeted with the same surprise, a single stick of ram.
literally watching this with my studio buds
When it comes to headphones, the NUMBER ONE quality is COMFORT. I realize Austin sometimes forgets where he came from, but this is just common sense. If you can not wear them and be comfortable, they are pretty much paperweights.
As a ex Dell vendor who worked in Best Buy is that
1. people think good windows laptop cost $400 and Amazing laptops cost $600 without a sale. They think anything over that they should just get a apple computer. They all go right to the value wall and when you tell them they can do nothing more then use word and visit basic websites they say thats all they need. Its a lot of convincing to get to over to the mid tier 14" laptops that are $800
2. Desk Top towers are mostly purchased by older people, easiest sale you can get after telling them about the additional fee for a disk drive they buy it right up.
3. Something I heard a lot was "I just need to use this computer once or twice a month to pay my bills"
Watching this at 4:09 am rn cuz am depressed af and this is what is making me happy for the moment
Austin completely not understanding why people would need a desktop computer for reasons other than gaming is absolutely hilarious to me
Like how are you THAT disconnected lmao
His point is that, for general use, there are far better devices for the money. You can get a laptop that has the keyboard, mouse, and screen for far less than the cost of this tower and it'll perform about the same when browsing Facebook or checking your email. He's moreso asking why such a simple desktop that costs so much is so popular when better options exist for less.
10:35 "I cannot hold this with one hand. It's too big" I have heard that quote in other videos.
You've got to give it up to the Beats branding and marketing department that they're the best selling headphones 7 years after their peak relevance. Apple essentially killed the company and yet, still, there they are.
I really appreciate your valuable time, you're among my shortlisted winners..✨️ Contact above..🎁..💬
My son plays on a GTX 1050 which doesn’t require external power. It’s fine for a 10 year old. But I wouldn’t do it myself
This was great, I watched this on my lunch break while working at bestbuy
with the first hp, seeing vga isnt scary....lots of the monitors you buy or would get for free is either hdmi or vga
How many things will Austin smell lol love the channel Austin and I love watching “This is” as well
Hey Austin just want to say been watching you for a long time and love your videos!! hope you're doing good
For the thousands of times they were complaining about the desktop, I think they looked at this system the wrong way
This isn't the type of system the people use to game on.
But you could build the same PC for a third the price with little know how, it ain't bad just over priced
The major complain should be the price.
it was over priced and no dual channel ram. Might as well sell it barebones if they go 1 stick
@@mofman1 a lot of offices still use ho desktops in India tho
this dude is the best youtuber on tech
2:13 - This is soooooo true. This happens at my job too
To be fair when people come into BestBuy and want a laptop, they don't expect to spend more than 300 $ people do now know/want to spend money on a good computer
Can I suggest a new rating scale?
-Brick(just an object)
-It Works(does its job basically)
-Cookie(St*rb$cks Cookie, dropped a $)
-Cake(Tasty for awhile, lost wallet)
-Buffet(never let's you down, overdraft fee)
Why y’all gotta roast my laptop like that lmao
I just wanted a cheap thing to watch TH-cam on
I absolutely LOVED my old HP Media Center PC (purchased in the early 2000s at Future Shop ...so perhaps even worse than Best Buy!

With the $350t 12700, i's more like $700-750 and though it's still a a pile of crxp PC for enthusiasts..... just sayin.
900 dollars for that HP desktop PC?! Even the discount price is a blatant fleecing of people ignorant about computers.
That sponsor was too smooth 😂
Funny how in that Dropbox Capture ad, there was a 2009 iMac that doesnt even support Dropbox Capture because being too obsolete with MacOs X El Capitan... Just pretty funny for a tech brand...
I've been loving the recent content more than ever! Y'all have one of the best teams on YT :)
honestly speaking, as bad as that laptop is the fact that you get the laptop free with your windows key is a great value.
That switch to the sponsor was smooth😳
Thank you I try
Roasting Best Buy never gets old lol
The HP Desktop at the start of the video is actually the same one I use lol. But I have the RTX 3060 12GB, 32GB of DDR4, and 11th Gen i7 Configuration. Frankly I think this thing is the best investment I've made but Jesus I can imagine it without a GPU and this video speaks for it when it's unbalanced..
I bought the same exact one close to 2 years ago but came with the rtx 2060, still using it and plays everything I've thrown at it perfectly
On Amazon last month I got a PC for $850 it was on sale
Has Ryzen 5 5600G 16GB DDR4, RTX 3060 12GB, about 500GB nvME SSD.. I then bought another exact same copy of 8x2, so now I have 32GB of ram so now the price I say is $900
4:38 for that price or $100 more you can get a full gaming PC from asus with i7 rtx 3060 1tb ssd and 16 gig ram
That desktop almost got me because I was all "If you don't want to game and you just want the basics, then it's fine". But almost 1000??? That's just highway robbery
I’m surprised the studios outsold the Solos. I rarely see the studios out in the wild
AUSTIN YOU SERIOUSLY CALLED MY NAME ON WHAT HEADPHONES YOU BOUGHT STARTED LAUGHING 😆 I like Sony headphones and Samsung headphones
i bought a computer similar to that, however, mine had a core i3 10100, a dvd drive, was used, came with keyboard and mouse, came with a 1080p 60hz monitor and only cost $200. you got ripped off.
"I just cannot hold this with one hand it's too big ssshhh" -that's what she said
Dankpods would disagree with the beats feeling premium haha xD Great video, love your content!
Shaq is probably using an IPad
Don't know why people hate intergrated graphics that much, running a Ryzen 5 and use thier intergrated graphics to game with, with around 50-60 fps. So...
the desktop pc is for JUST office work. not gaming.

Crazy thing about that HP desktop - HP has the same one on their website for the same price BUT with a GTX 1660 Super
Pretty soon the Old People will be the computer/Console pioneers from the 80's.
I didn't even know some computers dont come even come with a graphic card
Why is that nerd so shredded?
Tbf with the Desktop, not everyone is a gamer
Weirdly enough some of those boost mobile phones and some us cellular phones are fully unlocked when you buy them, so they can be a good deal.
You can actually swipe the fingerprint scanner to open and close notifications on android since i believe android 10, i've used it on my Xiaomi mi A2 lite for at least a few years now and its one of the best features a (almost) 5 years old phone like mine has
papi austin back with another banger video
The way Austin said "mids" at the end really sounds like spongebob.
In defense of the IO at my work not a single display has a display port. Also, HDMI uses the same signalling as DVI so you can use a an adapter. So, if you have an old display you use VGA and if you have a new display HDMI. Not having USB 3.0 is nonsense.
