this is one of my favorite things about skating. just a simple ollie up a ramp with alot of speed and feeling that nice swift sensation like your flying just makes you want to go faster and pop higher. unfortunatly i rolled my ankles trying to do this over a loooooong gap and hit a pebble. so now im laying on my couch watching youtube
I think it's called a 'euro gap' because it's an obstacle that first popped up in the major European street contests like Munster, in the early to mid 90s. Though originally the bank would be steeper and the gap much bigger. American pro skaters touring Europe during summer would be quick to dub any and everything the came across 'euro' so and so. As in: 'Dude, I hear euro girls don't shave their pits'
The euro gap at my park is really steep. Haven't got it yet. Progressed tho. I can land on top. Just kinda hard to clear it but keep the board under my feet
Can you please explain me the weight distribution, cause the eurogap in my skatepark is a lot steeper, and my ollies go more upward than forward, and most of the times I barely make it to the other side and lose all of my speed
how do i maintain speed while getting ready to pop? i ride up so fast it feels likeill make it for sure, but by the time im at the top of the bump i have 0 speed left... i dont even have enough run up at my park to get enough speed.... do i have to like, pump as im going up and gettin ready to pop?
Sk8crazy99 its because your scared or yo legs are bailing. You just need to keep trying. And get more comfortable with ollieing off or down objects. I would think
I fully commit I can ollie down 3-4 foot stuff pretty well but when i try to do 5 feet or over the boaard feels like its falling out from under me maybe im not getting enough pop
I always rocket ollie a only like 3 inch ollie. On flat my ollies are about two feet I commit. My tail feels so weird poping steep and it takes long to even snap. Help
Hey Aaron! Can you do a video "how to frontside or backside ollie staight from ledge" because every time i do that my nose is popping on the edge of the ledge. Can you help me? Ps: i watch your videos every day and they are awesome! Keep doing what you love man!!!
It seems like this should be pretty easy, but every time I do it I either end up way in the back seat, or I stall out with no speed at the top even when I come at it with all the speed I can get.
I need help really badly. I'm having an issue with a really awkward problem. I skate with my left foot on the board while I push with my right foot, but in order to do tricks I pop with my foot on the tail and I do my foot sliding with my right foot in front of the board. Like in a Ollie I pop with my left foot and slide with my right foot, but in order to gain speed and doing tricks I have to have my right foot to do it. If you understand my issue plz help!! Thanks in advance.
That's called mongo. Its easy to fix. Simply practice pushing with the foot you pop with. There's technically nothing "wrong" with mongo it's just bad style and takes longer to set up for tricks.
Dylan Fundell thanks dude I'll give it a try & NoirYorkCity lol that'll take FOREVER it's like trying to write with your left hand when your a right hand 😅 but thanks for helping anyway much respect
Dillon Jackson dont give me that bullshit "forever" go skate and do it. fyi when i started skating i had the same problem, so i just started riding the side i do the tricks
Technically all his tutorials are applicable to street. You use flatground tricks and learn them down gaps. You take ledge and rail tricks and use them on handrails, hubbas, ledges, etc. Most things that are in skateparks are replicas of things you will find in the streets.
I have big problems with ollies at high speed but, at least I try. Most of the guys at my skatepark can baryly ollie and they go straight down to kickflip :D
***** I never said I called it that dumbass, a lot of times there is stairs under the gap hence the name step-up because you are going up the steps. You shouldn't call people retards if you don't even know what the fuck you're talking about

"A euro gap is called a euro gap because I have no idea." -Aaron Kyro
Haha, yup :)
I KNOW WHY!! BECAUSE ITS LIKE THE GAP BETWEEN THE BRITISH ISLES AND THE EUROPEAN CONTINENT oops got a little excited
i have been waiting for this video in 3 years, and when he finally makes it i manged to learn it a week before...
I feel you bro
It took you 3 years to learn how to ollie up a euro gap :I
Ha! I learned it in 3 tries.
***** I literally had NO idea what I was doing back then
Elis Jonsson Do you wanna go pro?

Aaron your videos are awesome! Keep posting them! 👍
The euro gap at my park is really steep. Haven't got it yet. Progressed tho. I can land on top. Just kinda hard to clear it but keep the board under my feet
Aaron do you have like some kind of magnetic polarity within your feet? cause that board just suctioned to the bottom of your shoes in mid air Woo!
I can see in the slow motion at the back bolt you have a air bubble in your grip tape
It's still hard to me to do ollie in motion! I'd like you to do a video how to do that please!
Yo Arron or any one I ride mongo n I'm switching to goofy n I was wondering what would help n will it throw of my tricks
Can you please explain me the weight distribution, cause the eurogap in my skatepark is a lot steeper, and my ollies go more upward than forward, and most of the times I barely make it to the other side and lose all of my speed
Yo Aaron I need help with my Ollie over the euro gap in Bozeman, MT. I know you've skated it before and it is a really steep incline.
how do i maintain speed while getting ready to pop? i ride up so fast it feels likeill make it for sure, but by the time im at the top of the bump i have 0 speed left... i dont even have enough run up at my park to get enough speed.... do i have to like, pump as im going up and gettin ready to pop?
im obviously doing something wrong because ive seen people hit the euro gap with ease, i just cant seem to get that same effect
These videos really help me out
The euro gape down at my skatepark is way more steep. I could of done this like first try back when I first started skating.
I can do good kickflips and heelflips, but down stairs it waaaayyy harder... Please help!
More speed, commit. That's all you need to know.
When i try to ollie stairs my board just seems to fall out from under me, do i need more pop or what?
Sk8crazy99 its because your scared or yo legs are bailing. You just need to keep trying. And get more comfortable with ollieing off or down objects. I would think

Sk8crazy99 more pop would just send you higher into the air, making the drop higher. so no, you don't need more pop. you just need to commit.
I always rocket ollie a only like 3 inch ollie. On flat my ollies are about two feet I commit. My tail feels so weird poping steep and it takes long to even snap. Help
Nikolas Gibson Same man. On flat I can literally Ollie around 3 feet, but I get not pop on the ramp up.
Nikolas Gibson You're the kid in some of his videos right?
That Euro Gap name explanation cracked me up. Wasn't expecting that really.
Guys I have independent stage 11 size 129 trucks, what size decks should I get if I need a new one?
But I have a 7.9 deck but I want to know the range
This vid came out right after I learned to ollie euro gaps, now I gotta kickflip it
Ok so I have had this trick for like a year but last week for some reason I just clipped and ate it really hard how to prevent this
Hey Aaron! Can you do a video "how to frontside or backside ollie staight from ledge" because every time i do that my nose is popping on the edge of the ledge. Can you help me? Ps: i watch your videos every day and they are awesome! Keep doing what you love man!!!
Its been 6 years, did you learn them yet?
What is the easiest way to get good at skateboarding ! I really need help so pls help!!
Just keep practicing, you will get better.
The euro gap at my skate park is way bigger than thay and the ramp across from its not very big so its hard to get enough speed to try it
Elite Apollo word
I go to a skatepark 15 mins away a lot and that euro is hard cause the ramp is steep and the gap is longer than I can Ollie :-/
I'm afraid of ollieing up the ramp but the board slipping out backwards under me for some reason
A vid that explains transfers would be great! :)
It seems like this should be pretty easy, but every time I do it I either end up way in the back seat, or I stall out with no speed at the top even when I come at it with all the speed I can get.
I wanna go to Woodward west but it's super expensive just for a week

learn riding the way you do the tricks and never ride the other side again until you learn it
Dylan Fundell thanks dude I'll give it a try & NoirYorkCity lol that'll take FOREVER it's like trying to write with your left hand when your a right hand 😅 but thanks for helping anyway much respect
Dylan Fundell & NoirYorkCity actually if I look at it you both said almost basically the same thing 😅😅
Dillon Jackson dont give me that bullshit "forever" go skate and do it. fyi when i started skating i had the same problem, so i just started riding the side i do the tricks
3:24
I never commit when trying this. My back foot keeps coming off. any tips??
Go fast and maybe set your front foot a little bit farther back
man up and land it
Thanks for the help
Are you gonna make a skateboarding made simple on street skating? :)
Technically all his tutorials are applicable to street. You use flatground tricks and learn them down gaps. You take ledge and rail tricks and use them on handrails, hubbas, ledges, etc. Most things that are in skateparks are replicas of things you will find in the streets.

Why "Euro" gap?
It was the first place that type of obstacle appeared. Also called a London gap as it appeared in London in 1997 (or so my google search told me)
@@brailleskateboarding Thank's for the info. I landed my best tres on a euro gap 👌
Some people call it a step-up
***** I never said I called it that dumbass, a lot of times there is stairs under the gap hence the name step-up because you are going up the steps. You shouldn't call people retards if you don't even know what the fuck you're talking about
Euro gap = step up. By the way this is the smallest euro gap i've ever seen.
You know he says you need to push your foot out but thats just a boned ollie.
