Actually i pity his character because he really loves her but he dont know how to show it. Bcos he grow up seeing his father doing those things to his mom. Even if he did love his wife, that is absolutely no way to love someone. He was toxic and abusive. He really needed therapy and some psychological help. Props to the actor for conveying his character so well.

Finally, someone said it here. People shouldnt get mad at Ma Ri for not giving him another chance because as she said, she really tried to love him back. They should not blame her because it is hard to start loving someone who's ill and been hurting you. But partly, Ma ri is at fault. She shouldnt marry him at the first place knowing that she has no feelings for him. However, she badly needed to receive help for her mother that time. :(. I was thinking that if Ma Ri just fallen in love with him before their marriage, and if In Wook's dad won't stand on the way, she might have become a great instrument to shed a light and support his healing. Unfortunately, it didnt happen and it was all too late when he was desperately willing to get medical treatment. Everything seems over when he has finally see with his heart. :( Tbh, I couldnt get really mad to any of the character in this story, even at In Wook's father. Perhaps they all have dark pasts which they werent able to overcome and had shaped them into who they are in the present. But great are those who managed to cut the cycle, forgive and choose kindness. Lastly, yes! The actor who portrayed In Wook's was charismatic and applausable indeed. His acting and the original Ma Ri's is my favorite. 💗

Park Ha Na and Ryu Soo Young brought me into this drama.. Park Hana was such a great Actress that Yoon Ma Ri character suited her so well while Park Han Byul was weak in her expressions but Ryu SooYoung carried the show himself all the way till end. Ma Ri was a sympathetic character where she was loved the most by her husband (in a wrong way though) and the Doc (made her face into his ex wife). Kang In Wook is also a sympathetic character who is metally ill and obsessive to his love one who tries to run away from him. Ma Ri didn't find way to build up their marriage and only found ways to escape for herself. Doc Seo is not a sympathetic character as he chose to accept his cheating wife himself and made Ma Ri face into his late wife and then ignored Hae Ra's feelings but used her for help. Ending was so lame...no love was in sadness but love in selfishness of both Ma Ri & Doc Seo.

I like Kang In-Wook more than the male protagonist. Not because of his looks, character or the actor but because he is so PATHETIC. That wretched man needs help, he is lacking of guidance and enlightenment on doing right things, he doesn't know how to live life, it's like the wrath in his whole being is the only thing that's making him breathe. He knows and he feels those people surrounding him never loved him even his wife who ONLY TRIED to love him and never understand him, WAITING for him to CHANGE but ran away eventually and she never TRIED TO HELP HIM (mentally or emotionally? Well, I can't blame her, only true love or masochistic person will endure it 😜) These kind of people will have difficulties in terms of loving a person in a right way bcos they was never nurtured by those people who they grew up with. All in all, he's broken that's why he needs help, if this kind of behavior get fixed, I'm pretty sure he'll be a really really great person and more humane, we can see those gestures when he's protecting his wife from his father. He still have guilt, regrets and show weaknesses unlike his father, a pure evil. The male protagonist was obviously surrounded by love. I can say he is strong, he just had a mistake. His wife.

the husband made the story interesting. His character was well portrayed. The leading lady is so boring from the moment they change her face (actress). She's not a good actress. Plus the ending was so-so. The husband didnt recieved any medical help to change his attitude, it's just so sad that he grown up and die with resentment

The lesson of this story is shown in the most perfect manner - Greed, Lust and Anger are three gates to hell. So who was the most greedy and lustful character in the drama? Was it Kang Woo? No, he wasnt. Because, the reason why he loved Ma Ri was bcs he was still searching for his mother in her after he met her to heal his scars that his father had given him throughout his life. Place yourself in his shoes, how would you feel as a child if your dad constantly beat and torture your mother? You would be totally helpless because you would be killed! Does any child deserve that? See, this is about human psychology. We become what we've faced in our childhood. You're mature enough to understand why Kang Woo behaved like that. It's not easy, even he didn't want to be a bad person but his trauma consumed his true character - the innocent, lonely, loveless and hopeless child searching for a mother's love. About Ma Ri, I won't give any explanation bcs she has our sympathy. So who's the greedy person here? The DOCTOR! The main reason why Ma Ri is dead, and Kang Woo as well. All his life he chased behind the idea of love, his idea of love was a woman's beauty rather than her character. It didn't bother him whether that woman is a cheater, all he wanted was to get her love knowing that she never loved him. Isn't this toxic and superficial? His wife died but then also, his selfish desires had no end to it. Luckily, he found a broken vulnerable girl who was used as a pawn by the doctor and then getting her back at any cost, even though if it meant her to die was his goal. How can you even justify such ending where the doctor ends up with Ma Ri? Now be happy this drama has ended
@BlackSheep Creations had there not been this doctor, the drama would've received it's deserved ending! Anyways, we've wasted our energy and time convincing people why the story was ruined but nobody seems to be paying heed to us, the makers have no sense. I don't understand why they showed Hae Ra (Doc's best friend) in the posters when she was made a sidekick. In the middle, things were still fine. I thought that she would team up with Kang Woo to help him bcs she was jealous of any girl who was friendly with the doctor. But then they wanted to glorify the Doctor, so they made Hae Ra a side character showing that she is okay with whatever the doctor wants. She was okay with the doctor having a romantic relationship with Ma Ri who had Ha Kyung's face. Does this make any sense? Well at least I'm glad that the show makers did justice to the title of the show "Love in Sadness" by showing that none would find a happy ending to their story. Sadly, the characters were butchered with the Doctor's entry but Ryu Su Young kept the show alive with his brilliant performance as Kang in Wook. After this show ends, people will remember Ryu as Kang Woo while others will be forgotten.

Actually she did love him in the beginning of their relationship but he was abusive and obsessive with her, if he wouldn't have made Mari stay at home all time and let her follow her passion for painting, maybe the ending would have different.

This is not the first time I watch Park Hanbyul in the drama but honestly her acting is just so-so.. Even Park Hana's acting is better than her. Ji Hyunwoo is a good actor, I've seen his acting in Queen Inhyun's man and Angry Mom, he's one of underrated actor but his character in this drama is not that good. I like Park Hana's acting a lot. I saw her acting in The Promise and she's good. Ryu Sooyoung? No need to say, he's amazing.. The story is just boring..

They should not blame her because it is hard to start loving someone who's ill and been hurting you. But partly, Ma ri is at fault. She shouldnt marry him at the first place knowing that she has no feelings for him. However, she badly needed to receive help for her mother that time. :(. I was thinking that if Ma Ri just fallen in love with him before their marriage, and if In Wook's dad won't stand on the way, she might have become a great instrument to shed a light and support his healing. Unfortunately, it didnt happen and it was all too late when he was desperately willing to get medical treatment. Everything seems over when he has finally see with his heart. :(
Tbh, I couldnt get really mad to any of the character in this story, even at In Wook's father. Perhaps they all have dark pasts which they werent able to overcome and had shaped them into who they are in the present. But great are those who managed to cut the cycle, forgive and choose kindness.
Lastly, yes! The actor who portrayed In Wook's was charismatic and applausable indeed. His acting and the original Ma Ri's is my favorite. 💗

Park Ha Na and Ryu Soo Young brought me into this drama..
Park Hana was such a great Actress that Yoon Ma Ri character suited her so well while Park Han Byul was weak in her expressions but Ryu SooYoung carried the show himself all the way till end.
Ma Ri was a sympathetic character where she was loved the most by her husband (in a wrong way though) and the Doc (made her face into his ex wife).
Kang In Wook is also a sympathetic character who is metally ill and obsessive to his love one who tries to run away from him.
Ma Ri didn't find way to build up their marriage and only found ways to escape for herself.
Doc Seo is not a sympathetic character as he chose to accept his cheating wife himself and made Ma Ri face into his late wife and then ignored Hae Ra's feelings but used her for help.
Ending was so lame...no love was in sadness but love in selfishness of both Ma Ri & Doc Seo.

I like Kang In-Wook more than the male protagonist. Not because of his looks, character or the actor but because he is so PATHETIC. That wretched man needs help, he is lacking of guidance and enlightenment on doing right things, he doesn't know how to live life, it's like the wrath in his whole being is the only thing that's making him breathe. He knows and he feels those people surrounding him never loved him even his wife who ONLY TRIED to love him and never understand him, WAITING for him to CHANGE but ran away eventually and she never TRIED TO HELP HIM (mentally or emotionally? Well, I can't blame her, only true love or masochistic person will endure it 😜) These kind of people will have difficulties in terms of loving a person in a right way bcos they was never nurtured by those people who they grew up with. All in all, he's broken that's why he needs help, if this kind of behavior get fixed, I'm pretty sure he'll be a really really great person and more humane, we can see those gestures when he's protecting his wife from his father. He still have guilt, regrets and show weaknesses unlike his father, a pure evil. The male protagonist was obviously surrounded by love. I can say he is strong, he just had a mistake. His wife.

The lesson of this story is shown in the most perfect manner - Greed, Lust and Anger are three gates to hell. So who was the most greedy and lustful character in the drama? Was it Kang Woo? No, he wasnt. Because, the reason why he loved Ma Ri was bcs he was still searching for his mother in her after he met her to heal his scars that his father had given him throughout his life. Place yourself in his shoes, how would you feel as a child if your dad constantly beat and torture your mother? You would be totally helpless because you would be killed! Does any child deserve that?
See, this is about human psychology. We become what we've faced in our childhood. You're mature enough to understand why Kang Woo behaved like that. It's not easy, even he didn't want to be a bad person but his trauma consumed his true character - the innocent, lonely, loveless and hopeless child searching for a mother's love.
About Ma Ri, I won't give any explanation bcs she has our sympathy.
So who's the greedy person here? The DOCTOR! The main reason why Ma Ri is dead, and Kang Woo as well. All his life he chased behind the idea of love, his idea of love was a woman's beauty rather than her character. It didn't bother him whether that woman is a cheater, all he wanted was to get her love knowing that she never loved him. Isn't this toxic and superficial? His wife died but then also, his selfish desires had no end to it. Luckily, he found a broken vulnerable girl who was used as a pawn by the doctor and then getting her back at any cost, even though if it meant her to die was his goal. How can you even justify such ending where the doctor ends up with Ma Ri? Now be happy this drama has ended
@BlackSheep Creations had there not been this doctor, the drama would've received it's deserved ending! Anyways, we've wasted our energy and time convincing people why the story was ruined but nobody seems to be paying heed to us, the makers have no sense. I don't understand why they showed Hae Ra (Doc's best friend) in the posters when she was made a sidekick. In the middle, things were still fine. I thought that she would team up with Kang Woo to help him bcs she was jealous of any girl who was friendly with the doctor. But then they wanted to glorify the Doctor, so they made Hae Ra a side character showing that she is okay with whatever the doctor wants. She was okay with the doctor having a romantic relationship with Ma Ri who had Ha Kyung's face. Does this make any sense?
Well at least I'm glad that the show makers did justice to the title of the show "Love in Sadness" by showing that none would find a happy ending to their story. Sadly, the characters were butchered with the Doctor's entry but Ryu Su Young kept the show alive with his brilliant performance as Kang in Wook. After this show ends, people will remember Ryu as Kang Woo while others will be forgotten.

Nobody is justifying the abuse that Kang Woo had inflicted upon Ma Ri, but Kang Woo doesn't deserve to die such a tragic death, a death so tragic that he's left all alone like ashes in the water. You may have had a bright childhood, so it's impossible for you to know what goes on inside a little 7 year old kid when he's departed from the only person in the world who loves him/her the most - his/her mother. Therefore, kindly don't try to tell me and lesson me about how I should think about the right and the wrong. We're not wanting Ma Ri to end up with Kang Woo who has abused her so much, we just wanted him to live a better and dignified life without Ma Ri after suffering from his punishment

I think people shouldnt get mad at Ma Ri for not giving him another chance because as she said, she really tried to love him back. They should not blame her because it is hard to start loving someone who's ill and been hurting you. But partly, Ma ri is at fault. She shouldnt marry him at the first place knowing that she has no feelings for him. However, she badly needed to receive help for her mother that time. :(. I was thinking that if Ma Ri just fallen in love with him before their marriage, and if In Wook's dad won't stand on the way, she might have become a great instrument to shed a light, didnt give up, and help him heal. Unfortunately, it didnt happen and it was all too late when he was desperately willing to get medical treatment and repent. I believe that what he feels for Ma Ri is love. However, He didn't know how to, and it wasn't the perfect love that can cast out fear. Everything seems over when he has finally see with his heart. :(
Tbh, I couldnt get really mad to any of the character in this story, even at In Wook's father. Perhaps they all have dark pasts which they werent able to overcome and had shaped them into who they are in the present. But great are those who managed to cut the cycle, forgive and choose kindness.
Lastly, yes! The actor who portrayed In Wook's was charismatic and applausable indeed. His acting and the original Ma Ri's are both my favorites. 💗

And for me i think if only mari love her husband for real the ending might be different since as what i have observed her husband is in need of love, and to be cared of since from his childhood till adult his father not treating him right always beat him but because she got married just to escape her life/obligation to her mother so maybe thats the reason the husband feel that she will run away someday cause he dont feel her love...
Actually she did love him in the beginning of their relationship but he was abusive and obsessive with her, if he wouldn't have made Mari stay at home all time and let her follow her passion for painting, maybe the ending would have different.

@@julial1530 yep but she said that very early, in the episode where her plastic surgery hadn't happened n she was telling about her life to the doc she said that in the beginning before she got married things were good, she was happy. It was after her marriage that things went downhill and he started beating her. He didn't let her take her paintings to the world herself, the only thing she wanted to do. Making all the feelings she had for him dissappear.

This is not the first time I watch Park Hanbyul in the drama but honestly her acting is just so-so.. Even Park Hana's acting is better than her. Ji Hyunwoo is a good actor, I've seen his acting in Queen Inhyun's man and Angry Mom, he's one of underrated actor but his character in this drama is not that good. I like Park Hana's acting a lot. I saw her acting in The Promise and she's good. Ryu Sooyoung? No need to say, he's amazing.. The story is just boring..

The doctor is a third party to this relationship, he didn't love her for who she is nor does he deserve her. If she had helped her husband, he wouldn't end up killing her. The husband only married her because she had his mother’s face. Seriously did you all ignore the bruises on her arms from where he beat her or him using her mother as leverage or that he was tracking her every move and she couldn’t even meet her friends openly, or how about the fact that so far (on episode 10) even despite having a new face, the terror she feels every time she sees her husband even though he should not recognise her, this was a woman who was abused and traumatised by someone who didn’t love her but was only obsessed with her.
