    You mentioned pop-up campers...
I ride a 2011 Victory Cross Country with aftermarket trailer hitch.
I purchased a 'Time Out', pop-up camper with the intention of towing behind my bike.
For the first couple of years I towed it (with the Victory),
but in the long term it is just to big and heavy
Inside the camper I can pack a lot of gear but it ends up being to heavy.
I have found the best use for this camper is behind one of my cars.
I purchased it new for about $5,000.
That was a mistake because I have only received about half that in value.
I now think I would have been better off with a small cargo trailer and a tent/hammock.
    Those are my thoughts.
    Thanks for sharing yours...

I agree with Dana Clark about the trailer. The campers are to heavy that is why I have a cargo trailer and a tent. My trailer weighs 125 LBS empty It is 20 Cu Ft. Not sure what it weighs with all my camping stuff but think around 220 Lbs. I carry a lot of gear because I like to be comfortable. Think the Lightest camper is about 250 LBS empty.

Thanks for the review -- very well done. On my 2017 -- recently replaced the rear OEM Bridgestone 170/70/16 with Michelin 180/65/16 (.15 smaller O.D) at around 6k miles, was almost 80 percent worn, hard to find the same size. Michelin is a little fat with cornering slightly better having more bite on the road. One negative about this bike: water pump (coolant) leak was fixed around 3500 miles under warranty.

I have a Vaquero, and pull a trailer with it sometimes as well. With the receiver tucked up under the rear fender, when not towing I remove the ball, tuck up the wiring, and you'd never know it wasn't standard.
I got the Ivans flash ( with the update) at around 600miles. So worth it. Bike runs smoother, and cooler, with no more popping and farting. I would recommend to anyone with the 1700.Pulling an empty trailer, you hardly know it's there, when it's loaded, you notice it. Braking distance, acceleration, and economy, are all affected.
Can't comment on campers, as I travel professionally, gathering hotel points, so vacation hotels are free. But I think a trailer and tent is more practical, as you may want to haul other things, without having to take the camping gear. A camper is purely for camping. I use my trailer to haul my suitcase and toolkit to the airport when I'm heading out for work, to go to the store for a several cases of water to resupply my garage fridge, and for touring too. Basically, anything I can do with my car, when I feel like using a bike instead.
I really like the Vaquero, and I'm thinking of replacing my ST with a Voyager, for when I want to carry more than the Vaquero can handle, but not so much as to need the trailer. Like you, I added a foot extension to my stand, and will do the same if I get the Voyager. First thing will be the Ivans flash, though.

I heard you talk about the Ivan's reflash. I have an identical bike that I bought last spring and had the reflash done on it before I ever drove it off the lot. I am actually planning on sending it back for the update some time. I am in Olympia and would let you give it a ride to see any difference.

The ECU flash is definitely worth doing. I bought my Voyager last May and sent the ECU off the day I brought the bike home,
Tom Dhamers: The update flash, which is no cost other than shipping, is well worth it, too. There is almost as much change with the update as there was with the original flash.

I'm interested in the Voyager, so appreciate the info you share in your vids. If you ever ride at night, I'd love to see a vid of what the dash looks like at night, as well as get an idea of how much light the bike throws with the driving lights on.

Kenda makes a tire, Kenda Cataclysm 180/65/16. I like Kenda, they have worked great for me on my Voyager

I thought I heard somewhere on one of your videos that you were considering have your ECU flashed by Ivan. I was wondering if you are still considering this or have you changed your mind. If you have already had your ECU flashed...what do you think?
