As a native Californian, I have learned so much about my home state. Thanks. The video is great. My idea of a "hike" is taking a walk through the flatland of my neighborhood
Aww, my old stomping grounds. Did this hike countless times with my dog Ranger when I lived in San Diego. A great trainer for ambitious hikes like Mt Whitney.
Hi Josh, it’s been crossing on my mind to go hike to this place. So, I finally I did it yesterday on Sunday after I saw your vlog first to get more information. I parked at the side the road of CA 67 (I got it from Google or Apple Maps for direction). Started from there hikes the trail that pretty steep so I made couple rest before got to summit. Waited almost an hour for long line to take picture. Then hit the road again back home, I stopped by to Burger Bench as recommended it in your vlog. I didn’t disappoint, the foods so good taste. Thanks Josh ....
I miss Cali so much. Moved from there to New Mexico 10 years ago. Glad I came across your channel, it brings me a little closer to home. Thanks for what you do!
Should try blue sky to Poway Lake to the top of Woodson down to 67 then all the way back to blue sky. One time we did that and the line was large the first pass by potato chip rock and a lot shorter on the way back. 67 to the top is shorter distance and steeper. The huge rocks are cool and are good photo opportunities. Or before potato chip rock take the lower trail that leads toward the gold course then walk a short distance on 67 to Woodson trail head.
Wow Josh that looks so deceptive from the opening shot; but half way hearing your breathing and seeing that incline for over a thousand feet you earned a cool brewski; maybe even two. Great hike.
Did the trip to Potato chip rock on Presidents day. We took the short route which was 2 miles one way. WOW that shit was work! Be aware that is a non-stop incline to the top. Workout for sure.
What a cool hike! Being an Australian, my mind boggles at the elevation in some of the hikes there! Ours are so small in comparison.... it would be literally breath taking for me haha haha
Love the content always happy to see you post something new! Can you please also include roughly how long the hikes take you in your videos? I know it's different for everyone but nice to have a ballpark. How long did this hike take round trip? Thanks!
New to your channel and im loving it thanks for the content its much needed especially to us folks that never been and would love to explore sometime ( me) 😂😂
If you want a 'shorter hike' you can come in from the east side. Steeper incline but wayyyy shorter. Totally worth it. Also it is possible to climb from the bottom of the chip - you have to wedge yourself in and shimmy up the crevice but it's completely doable if you don't want to make that leap and possibly severely injure yourself (remember a life flight is $20k!)
Josh from California through my lens that food you ate at the end of this video looks delicious and Josh from California through my lens I like your videos.
I can see Mt Woodson from my house , a 15min to the lower trailhead, on a weekend I’ve seen over 100 cars parked at upper Ramona trailhead with county sheriffs Controlling parking. People line up to Get a turn, kind of a joke (Disney Land) if your out for a mind clearing hike. I feel sorry for the people who live on the road between the parking and the chip.
Hey Spider Girl. If you are the young lady afraid of SPIDERS (or know this person) whom I met on the way down on Friday, April 19th, 2024, I think you dropped something. Please contact me so I can return it to you. Be safe.
Why would you climb that slice of a rock like that, let alone jump on it. Irresponsible! This is the same or even worse than people climbing natural arches for selfies. Or how about leaving trash behind in nature. UNSUBSCRIBING to both channel.
This was my very first hike ever took me 6 hours total. I been on a weightloss journey this was beautiful thanks for sharing the videos
I gotta wonder how many people jumping up and down on potato Rock it's gonna take before it breaks...
And it's a long way down when it does - that'll be a national news story for sure
"And to our right, ladies and gentlemens, the halfway point of our ascent to potato chip rock, we have the infamous Butt Cheek Rock" 🤨@2:44
My heart stopped when you jumped on the rock!!! 😱 awesome video, of course 👍

How’s New Mexico treating ya?
Epic hike and a cool payoff at the top.
Agreed, it is a fun one!
My grandpa lives right below it!
That's just a few miles from our house. We can see Mt. Woodson from our front yard. We live in Ramona, on the other side from Poway.
Killer hike! Killer burger!! Hope to be in San Diego later this month and will add both to my itinerary.
One of my favorite hikes. I like the other side better from the highway...huge boulders everywhere.

I went there last time. It was an hour hike plus an hour waiting for a photo! Long long line!
You went the hard. Only 3 miles but all uphill

Burger Bench was fantastic! Just ate there this afternoon. You need to keep doing this for all your future videos!
Thank for the video, I’ve always wanted to do this hike the long way and not the EASY way. Reason why I haven’t hiked it in a while.
Recently I went there with my cane, it's so stif hiking. I stop tahe a deep breath every 15 minutes. It took me the whole day trip.
I have not visited this place, but it seems to be a very popular place to take instagram photos.
Wow looks awesome! Thanks for sharing
Last two weeks of March 2020, we should have another super bloom. March 5, flowers are starting.

It does seem like an unusually hot winter. Phewww. Crazy rock. People may be afraid it will break.
