I HAVE A THEORY!!!! (i NEVER have theories) What if, abstraction is just an escape from the digital circus. The circus realizes that you're of no use anymore and throw you back into the real world. AND (i just thought of this as i was typing the first theory) when they abstract, if they do go back to the real world, they wake up in a hospital bed as if they've been in a coma.
