No it’s more as a hobbie that can turn into more of a sport because most people will treat it as a hobbie but when they get into it it turns into a sport for them, like me I treat it as a hobbie because I can’t practice my ping pong I can only practice at school and rn I’m at the top.
Table tennis is a hard sport in my opinion so to be able to play so well this young is impressive. Why you ask? Table tennis requires a lot of self strength control cuz u can't hit too hard or soft. You also need to have fast reaction. It's not the hardest sport but it's certainly relentless towards beginner

You have to have good concentration, but most rallies don’t even go on for more than 15 seconds. It might be physically tiring if you’re playing constant matches against a top 100 player who’s ball placement is incredible, but for the most part it’s not that much physical activity.

Those who bashed these young boys that they are not as good as the table tennis players in China or Japan, you don’t know this. First, table tennis is not a popular sports in US like China. There is not a lot of competitors, coaches and clubs in US. There is also not much incentives to gain in this sports in US. Because of these, it is hard for them to reach top rank internationally but they are trying hard! Another thing too is they are full time students, they only get to practice in a free time when they are after school and have finished they academic homework. In the video, you will hear that they wake early morning and practice before going to school, and then practice again after they finish their school and homework. In China, those top athletes go to sports school and sports college to focus on training in specific sports. I bet you these two Indian American boys not only are good at table tennis, they also must be top rank (first or second place) academically in their school! Why did I say that? Because I have two boys, my oldest son had been through and done that and my youngest son is following the same footsteps like his brother now. My oldest son, five years straight in Team USA, competed in internationally World Championships and made medals, and is also a academically high achiever (ranked 2nd of 1090 students in high school), and now in Stanford. I must say, great job to these Indian American boys! Keep it up and you will succeed! Go and make America proud!

Johanna I Was unofficially the best player in my country(Sweden) 2 years ago, I retired from table tennis the year after... By unofficially, I mean that I won against everyone in the series and came 1st among the top players in the country, but I only made it to second place in the nationals...
They've reached the level where they have to increase their strength and work out their bodies to be better because they've already mastered all the techniques and forms..

I started lifting at 11 it’s not weird. It may look weird at first because they look small next to machines but they will get there, they are probably hitting puberty already so they will gain size if they workout and eat right
