As a person who has had mental disorders, I always enjoy these kind of pictures. And I can attest to the fact that having someone to love and encourage you through it is so important - so needful.
So true. I recently met a girl who had been institutionalised for a good few years, she'd been subjected to electro shock therapy and buckets of drugs. A long story cut very short; she was released, I met her out walking in the countryside, we fell in love, she recovered. The only 'treatment' she needed was understanding and love. We're awaiting our first baby in January.
@TrudyPatootie A lovely little boy. Not without complications as mama's nervousness brought on pre eclampsia, Merlin was delivered 2 months early. Superb nursing brought him through. The stress and worry about the baby's health, his very low birth weight and all those wretched tubes in the incubator caused a bit of a crisis with mama being temporarily re-admitted into the secure unit and more blasted drugs. She is now fully recovered and proud mother of a noisy, greedy little darling that doesn't appear any different to a full term child. What an adventure. Love conquers all.

I think for many years the entertainment industry has been pumping out films that have messed up the mental and emotional states of people by so much negativity and dishonor as well as bad attitudes are suppose to be cool that now nobody wants to deal with anyone. So these older shows help to remind us of how people should communicate. Otherwise it’s gonna be home sweet home permanently. Thanks for the show and keep up the great work.
This was near the end of the series, as Dick decided he'd gone as far as he could with the "FOUR STAR PLAYHOUSE" format, and wanted to produce (and host) a different anthology series for the fall of '56- which turned out to be "DICK POWELL'S 'ZANE GREY THEATRE'" (although it *could* have been titled "DICK POWELL'S WESTERN THEATRE", because the series eventually moved beyond adaptations of Zane Grey's stories).
Dick Powell always preferred the "porkpie" style fedora~ my least favorite. I've also noticed many western actors adopted a "signature" cowboy hat as well: Randolph Scott, John Wayne, even Charles Bronson.
Ummm. Yes. I'm amazed at how people think previous decades were SUCH dark ages into many ways. From what I see now research seems to have gone insanely off the rails.

@@TrudyPatootie Very many thanks for your interest and kind thoughts. I wish you and yours all the very best - and a happy ending to your story.
Nice thoughts about marriage, commitment and oneness.
Many thanks for these uploads, nice way to.spend a 🌧 rainy afternoon. A mini- marathon. Loving it! Best to All the Viewers, as well! PEACE!
Joanne was a great actress. Her best role was in the Three faces of eve. This episode is nice.
Joanne Woodward looked great with dark hair!
More of a dark blonde I guess .
She was beautiful either way. Great actress. Loved this segment. I like both Dick Powell and Joanne Goodward.
This was A GREAT STORY! Very intelligent characters. Superb Ending!🥰
Joanne Woodward so moving and average in the same time.
Thanks for sharig.
💙
These short films are a real treat. Very many thanks.
Such maturity! So refreshing. I love the original commercials are terrific,
My mother had a Singer like so many women around the 50's and 60's I suppose. Now my sister uses it as a part of decoration 😊
Excellent episode. Joanne Woodward gives a wonderful performance. She played a more mature character in Three faces of eve later on.
Makes sense because the 3 Eves were all stunted when she was a child.
This was her second appearance with Powell; their first joint appearance was the October 1954 episode "Inheritance".
Lovely Ending 💜

"Watch the Sunset" was originally published in the June 1956 issue of "REDBOOK".
Unfortunately, Redbook has become trash.
If you're lucky enough to collect those eras of magazines, the stories & artwork are supurb!
Incredible. And I love the innkeeper's dialog.😁 And yet another reason shown why doctors are NOT to be trusted with EVERY life altering decision!
“You go over there and sit by the window and keep your shirt on. Mrs Morland will have supper ready just as soon as I cook it” 😂
I love these golden oldies. Thank you so much for doing the work and sharing with us.
I like the SINGER logo 🙂
When the narrator says the red S , it sounds like he’s saying resass😂😅!!!
That was sweet...bittersweet 🌹

20:00 It's just that Dr. Cameron and his repatterning. 😁
Yay! Thank you!
334 a week that's outrageous
Not in our lifetime would we see $3.34 / week.
Is that Joanne Woodward??
Yes, indeed ...🙂
I thought was her wasn’t sure. She had beautiful husband.
Unmistakable voice for one thing.
Yes!!!
❤❤❤❤
Goodness I've got a Mum roll on in the bathroom 😊
Enjoyed the show. What’s with the timer in the bottom corner?
VCR taped originally most likely.

Did one fly over the cuckoo’s nest this early ? 1956 !

Certainly not a thriller 🥱
