    Rented one of these at my local trail yesterday and I was so impressed with it! I already have a Trek Roscoe 7 on order but if I had the choice between the two I'd strongly be considering the Vitus based on the spec per price. Unfortunately, as is the case for everyone, there are very few bikes available at the moment so I wouldn't have had a choice anyway!

      You'll still enjoy the Trek Roscoe 7, was also looking at that. At the end of the day it's just about getting out there and enjoying the rides!! So hard to get anything now these days!

    I didn't think I'd like the grips. But, after using them, they aren't bad at all. I normally use oury. I, also, changed the pedals quite quickly. I'm not certain what brakes yours came with. Mine came with Clark's that i did not like as much as the XTs i had on hand. So, those were changed, too. In the end, this is a badass bike. Enjoy yours, bro.

    Nice vid pal, I’m running tannus tubeless inserts front and rear on my sentier and I’d recommend running on the front aswell. Mutes all the harsh vibrations and bumps that u feel from ur handle bars, better cornering with the sidewall support aswell as the added overall protection. I don’t feel near as battered after every ride since running them. I’d recommend the tannus tubeless over the cushcores as theyre way cheaper and still have all the same benefits while being lighter weight, easier to install and u dont need green specific valves that font match ur bike. They’re only £30 right now on amazon sold by amazon eu when u click the buying options whereas they’re £45 everywhere else

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I watched something on punctures on the Gmbn tech show and a number of people mentioned tannus in the comments, some even recommended the armours to go around tubes. So there seems to be cheaper options than Cush core and like you said don’t have to run green valves. Thanks for the recommendation and saving money!

    I don't know if you've changed the grips yet but give some thought to your mitts/gloves before you do. I have the same bike (which I love!) and I agree that the grips are quite firm and unforgiving, but they feel really secure to hold. My mitts (which I also use on my road bike) have really good padding for comfort, whereas my fingers still have a good hold on the grips, so I don't feel the need to change the grips.

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Stan Dan, I've actually gone with the DMR deathgrips. I prefere riding without gloves but do want to buy some as they will protect my hands from cuts and scratches when I fall. Which ones have you got?

      @@DanEscapes Well they seem popular so I'm sure they will work well. I'm also a roadie, so I use a pair of Specialized road mitts (can't remember what they are called). Hi Dan, nice video! I have a Sentier 29 VR 2020 and I love it a lot! I am sure you will be happy with your purchase :) I got a 800mm wide bar with my L size, and at first I thought it was too wide. But after a few runs I got used to it, and now I appreciate the good control I get from the wide bars, so give it a try! I am running tubeless but without inserts. I am afraid the inserts will make the bike feel slower to accelerate due to the increased rotating mass. Where I live the terrain is quite flat so easy pedaling is prefered. but what do I know? :) Cheers!

    • @DanEscapes
      @DanEscapes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey David, sorry for the late reply. I love the bike and I have stuck with the current bar width, like you love the control. I decided to go with inserts with tube, I made a video with upgrades I made to my vitus including changing to lighter tyres and tubes. Has made a massive difference when riding uphills. When I put the inserts in with the original tyres was very sluggish. You made any upgrades to yours?

    • @davidalberius6107
      @davidalberius6107 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DanEscapes Great! I will have a look on your upgrade video too. I have done some minor upgrades, I started with the tyres as you did. Replaced them with Schwalbe Racing Ray and Racing Ralph which turned out to be a good choice for easier pedaling. Then I unwillingly had to upgrade rear derailleur which broke (SRAM SX) and crank set (SRAM SX) where the through axis sheared of. My mechanic told me this is a common issue with SRAM SX model, so I replaced both parts with NX and with DUB for the crank set. Really happy about the change since NX is much more robust compared to SX. I swapped the original brake pads with "Disco brake pads", which was also a small improvement. I also added one volume spacer in the fork (1 is standard so I have 2 now). This allows me to have a little "softer" setting of the fork without bottom out on bigger hits. I will keep an eye out for new upgrades on your channel ;)
