I don't know, I think the SGRho's did it. They were deep for SGRho. Delta's always come hard, but I'm glad to see that SGRho stepped up...SERIOUSLY. Where I'm from, SGRho is maybe 3 to 5 a chapter, where AKA and Delta are 20 plus.
Delta Sigma Theta meant by that remark is that when they broke away from Alpha Kappa Alpha, they went on their own to establish service to their Communities, fighting for women Rights [even though the White women didn't want them to partake in the Suffrage march in 1913] and other things. Their Founders [DST] felt that AKA wasn't making significant progress to help their People and other things. Hope this explanation helps.
Then don't make a vow to AKA. They are a social group? Fine. Not the group for you? Perfect. Do your own thing...kinda like the Zetas and the SGRho's did. Create something you are passionate about. Don't make a vow to a group, get your panties in a bunch and take your vows to something new. In my family, we have a name for folks like that...

For instance, if some ladies of DST always hear from some ladies of AKA maybe saying some things like: "We mothered you women first", "Your Founders were disloyal to AKA" and other things; it may could be raise a lot of animosity toward them and they could react like that. Since they are of the same kind of People, they ought to be respectable to each other. In my honest perception.

predominately White Institution at Butler University. Indiana State can pride itself in having two Greek lettered organizations, which is a Sorority and Fraternity founded by Americans of African stock within its Land, Sigma Gamma Rho and Kappa Alpha Psi.

I thought the Deltas were the first sorority to actually give back to the community when the AKAs were just a social group. I thought that was why there was a divide. I thought that the akas that left and founded DST left for that reason. I heard they wanted to more than just look pretty. Is this not true?
@msgeorgiabama No Im not a part of the greekdom and my question was sincere. I have said I want to do this and that and once I start I figure out that it isn't for me. That's happened to alot of people. The organization wasn't for them and they left and founded DST. Everyone has to take their own journey. I feel like maybe they saw AKA as a good group and wanted to join so they did. If they got there and wanted to add something to their organization, they had the right to suggest it.
