It's there way or claiming the oceans are not level .. when they are . They raise the ship then lower it down to sea level .. 7 in difference is a lie

It should also be added that Cape Horn is one of the most hazardous areas for ships in the world. Winds blow west to east uninterrupted by land and waves can reach 30 metres or more in height. Icebergs can be encountered as well. It wasn't just a longer journey for freight: there was a chance the cargo wouldn't make it at all!

Keep in mind the U.S. instigated the war between Panama and Colombia because Panama was part of Colombia and refused to let the U.S. take control of the land so the U.S. got Panama to start a war of independence and provided Panama with weapons.

Would a 20cm drop over a distance of 80km have created that much of a current? That's one part in 400,000. Not that it was feasible to have a sea level canal the terrain in between the two oceans.

Read about the whole history. This video gives only an idea of how the Panama Canal works. France started to build the canal in 1881 and gave up in 1889. During this time, about 25,000 people died, most from yellow fever and malaria. ... Many workers were also exposed to burning phosphorous. All locks raise the ships 85 feet above sea level. It's like riding a huge ship over a hill. The whole trip goes up on the hill then down, that's how the locks work. At that time there were no cars in the USA.
At the time of its construction in 1913, Gatun Lake was the largest man-made lake in the world. It was created by the damming of the Chagres River, and a crucial part of the creation of the Panama Canal as its waters operate the Panama Canal locks each time a ship passes through.
