- We got off to a head start earlier when I showcased the Motul/LBWK set, but the other two are nothing to sneeze at! Let's have a look at the next mix of Hot Wheels Team Transport, along with a look back at some of the Snake & Mongoose premium models.

I remember back in the day, most big funny car and top fuel teams concentrated on match racing and raced 2-3 times a week at different tracks all over North America. Many teams had 2 cars, 1 on the West coast and 1 on the East coast and the driver would fly across country to drive the car. Some teams would also hire a driver if the car was booked at two different tracks at the same time. Most two car teams
I like them all. But I think my pick of the bunch is the 962. Absolutely gorgeous. I love that casting.
I’ll look straight past the skyline and go for the Plymouth Cuda thanks, my days of JDM are a thing of the past, who knows they may return, but for now I’m into a lot of 70s American stuff.
what’s funny was i completed a mission in a hot wheels video game that explained the history of Snake and Mongoose, which is cool
Snake & Mongoose is the best ones in my eyes since I'm a huge drag racing fan 🏁
I think when I was little I had both the Snake & Mongoose Funny Cars with the deployment parachute packs (as the cars race down the tracks, they catch a "V" shaped fork ,pulling a string that pulls out the parachute from a box as the car racers past,the parachute deploys behind the car)

I had the yellow snake & the red Mongoose that came in single packs like 20 years ago. But misplaced them & I always think about them and how much I liked them back in the day
And now I just recently bought the snake 2 team transport.
The 962 looks great in general, but this shell one just seems to have that little bit of something extra to make it special.

Great videos so keep up the good work. I don't know much about the American dragsters and others really. I do like cars but since I was a boy in my dad's truck trucks have always really fired me up. So these team transporters blow my mind. Awesome series and congratulations to Hot Wheels too by the way. That Shell truck ooh wee can't wait to find that and get my hands on that one.
Nose on the Cuda FC can't accurately protray the 1971. It could do the 72-74 close enough. Tail seems to have no cast details so that can represent 70 or 72-74 with paint alone.
obviously the skyline is the fave but that cuda is FIRE!!!

Just got today at my local Walmart the Plymouth Coda FC/Retro Rig,and some days earlier the Shell Porsche 962/Sakura Sprinter Team Transports (my local Walmart started a couple of months ago getting Team Transports after not getting them for many months)
I ment the Plymouth CUDA (SPELLCHECK!!)

Didn't realize until after seeing your video (and zoomed in to my picture of this Funny Car) ,that the Cuda was a Dom Prudhomme Snake ll!!!
I seem to remember when I was little that I had both the Snake and the Mongoose Funny Cars with the parachute set (as the cars race down the tracks, the front of the cars catch a "v" shaped fork that pulls a string that attached to the parachute stored/tucked into a box,when the. cars pass the boxes attached to the tracks the string pulls out the parachute and the parachute is deployed behind the cars)
What a coincidence. Just this year, I've happen to find the original vintage redline Snake II in very near mint condition with original decals intact, And now there is a transport set version coming out, I'm going to be looking for that set to go with my original redline. That is a very cool set.

This will be my first opportunity to get the Snake 2 from the pegs. I grew up watching that rivalry and had all the Hot Wheel toys with the Snake & Mongoose branding. They changed cars every year, and sometimes during a season if memory serves, so I have to believe the different cars represent that. You can have all the Motuls- give me a Snake 2 and a Porsche with Shell livery!
I can see a huge trend possibility with the old set you bought continue with team transport. All the old castings and livery coming back with a hauler to accompany it.

I have the Snake & Mongoose Drag Busses and track set.
On a related note...
Just saw a few minutes ago that (according to Ministry of Diecast), that some new premium 2packs are to be released Dec 2022, including a Snake and Mongoose (Funny Car ??) set
Saw some more details about that 2 pack,they do open, showing the engine, etc
They are Funny Cars
That Skyline might just be my new favorite Team Transport set! I like that one more than the one used in the Mountain Drifters set! 😊👍

Looks like your the only one who likes the Shell set. I’ve been to several Targets where the pegs are swamped with the Shell (one had at least 10) but the others are nowhere to be found.

These have appeared in Australia.
The real yellow and white snake fc s have vastly different chassis. Funny car technology was evolving rapidly in those years.
Mattel has mixed and matched the various chassis with the wrong bodies over the years. Just a kids toy after all.

My 962 came a little mustard yellow instead of the vibrant yellow on the truck anybody else get that or is mine a bad casting?
4:30 I'm still waiting for it to hit the pegs around me, as well as the 917k. It'll be November.

Plenty of them on eBay. I got mine at Target 2 months ago.

It's not too much of a deal breaker, but it's odd that they're using the older serif-ed Shell logotype for the livery in this set. Wonder what's the story there.
Because the real car had that serif typeface
