@@Forferdelse666 I agree, but also I kinda like the demo versions of some of the songs from Facelift because the tempo is a little faster than the album versions
Jerry Cantrell is absolutely one of the most all around journeyman master of the arts level talented musicians in the fucking universe. Guitar player, singer, and holy crap, writer.
I was at a different date, but boooooy... I walked in to the sound check right as he was beginning this song and I cannot describe the feeling that came over me to hear it and to hear Jerry sing it. It was unreal.
It's always bone chilling to hear someone sing their own stuff when others normally sing it. I like hearing Noel Gallagher's acoustic version of Slide Away. It's his song. Not used to his voice on it when you first hear it , but it's really got the quintessential magic for the song.
I think Jerry is not underrated, but he kinda gets a backseat to Layne in a lot of conversations, even though he wrote a lot of the songs, and is an amazing singer in his own right.
Both William and new singer are great they both hold a place with Jerry yea nobody will ever replace Staley to be honest I feel like this type of music only hits people who have been through life and the pain it brings with it today's gen would understand everything has been handed to them
Saw them live in 1991 opening the Clash of Titans tour, never heard of them until they played Man in the Box, completely blown away, still stands out as one of the best live acts I ever saw to this day,
Saw Jerry in St Louis a few days after this and he sang the first verse of bad company before breaking into sea of sorrow. Best pop of the night for sure
You opened fire.....had to keep my eyes close but yes what a beautiful lead solo. Beautiful. See ya.~on ward and upward through the fog I go!! Have a blessed day. The guys in the band always on point bang it out always 100. God Bless You.
@@Beast96GT i don't know about you, but i'd be pretty honored to have people remembering and preforming songs long after im gone instead of them never being played again, especially by friend of mine
Bullseye! I shoulda ducked. Seriously? Lol I'm going g go be late for vet Greg's killing it. Loved when got in. Road and the guys were all so singing...way real
Ok Layne kills this as usual. Omg this mood has got to go. Someone said s thing I'm like wtf??? Huh??? Ok lets get psyched where's grammarly here BTW??? Promise no more school questions. Ill wean myself down. OH THEN WAKE UP AND TAAA DAAAAH! MAYBE. THE SUN WILL COME OUT!!
did you ever try to think that, with the addition of duvall, they were not trying to replace layne, but to move on? search from brendan meier from facelift - Chicago aic tribute. If they wanted a layne copy, they could just hire him
No one will ever touch Layne but these guys still have to make a living.Greg is a great singer in his own right. The Dillinger Escape Plan was a awesome band! I saw this group live recently and they sound awesome in person.
The vocalist is way out of his league trying to cover this song...the comparison is unfair to virtually any singer, but if prime Staley is 9.5, this dude is a 4 at best.
Why Sea of Sorrow isn’t/wasn’t on all setlists , is beyond me. Best track from Facelift.
I saw them live in august the only song from facelift they played was man in the box
@@greghernandez1765 same
Could’ve been a difficult song to play live
@@josephcollins628 that is possible, yes.. though it’s the best track off of Facelift in my opinion. A total sing along in the car, haha! 😎🤘🏻
@@Forferdelse666 I agree, but also I kinda like the demo versions of some of the songs from Facelift because the tempo is a little faster than the album versions
Sea of sorrow is absolutely one of their best songs. Bleed the freak is another topper. It's hard to pick a favorite child....
WOW, that singer sounded great harmonizing with Jerry
Greg Puciato. Notable singer of another amazing band, "The Dillinger Escape Plan"
Underrated guitar player for sure!

Thanks for posting this!

Caught this tour in New Orleans and it was phenomenal
jerry cantrell is the man

Honestly I'm liking Greg more than Will lately.

Its awesome to hear this live with two guitars and keys.
the first time I heard this song in the 90's It reminded me of In the Heat of the Night, always has, it's that bluesy riff that does every time.
That Guitar... and that voice
Love me some Jerry Cantrell 😍😍😍
I was there too and that concert was incredible!

Omg lo e the guitar & lordofthe80's thang ya got going on. Cool.
LaneyBaby.
Wow they jerry and company have "fine tooth combed" there rendition of sea of sorrow on this tour !! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
F'n brilliant
Thanks for sharing! Red lights suck for recording. Seeing them in Nashville hopefully Sunday.
Mind blowing!!
Yea absolutely incredible....
Wonderful.
Love it 😍
Está música é tão perfeita que qualquer um cantando fica foda
Great show
LS would be proud of this rendition
Um no? It's terrible. Layne sang his heart out for this song. This is like the Wish version of Sea of Sorrow.

R.I.P. Mike Starr. from the original bass guitar Alice In Chains.

He does a very good rendition don't forget they are a bit older then Layne. So I give it a 👍. Whose comparing anyway!
Got in the crowd.
Lane is missed
Damn, who is the singer? He is good!
Greg Puciato
Who is the guy Singing, He Sounds Close To Lane ,
Snake of 🔥?
This guy makes me really appreciate William.
Yo, jerry, you shouldn’t have to sing that. Put me in coach!
No needs layne
Drop kick

This singer should be brought in to Alice, better than William. Sorry William fans but this guy is a closer Lane vocal and matches Jerry better
did you ever try to think that, with the addition of duvall, they were not trying to replace layne, but to move on?
search from brendan meier from facelift - Chicago aic tribute. If they wanted a layne copy, they could just hire him
Totally agree
God no he sounds horrible. Maybe if he can control the notes better, but he just sounds like he’s screaming into the mic. William duval any day
@@hermansantos7181 They said they went for something a bit different for that reason indeed.
This dude couldn’t carry Williams mike. Sounds like he’s struggling mightily to me. Yelling and screaming to be heard.
I like dude he sounds good but no comparison to layne❤
No one can be compared to Layne, who had the most haunting voice of all male rock singers.
That singer sounds better than the other guy they use.
Who is the new band members?
He’s playing with other people, band members do that sometimes.
No shade to the other dude, but wish Jerry had done this on his own. Bro can’t quite pull off Layne’s part.
Drums aint right makes it sound weird.
He lacks the groove that Sean has
Maybe he’s not trying to be Sean
Perfect example of ego
I can say the guy gave it his college try, but he is not layne
Too slow
Nope doesn't sound good without layne
Lynn.
Play AOC at the moore 1990 and then listen to this. Cant touch Layne at all.
your son looks like a downy
Lane is long gone. You expect them not to continue playing songs they wrote because of it?

Sorry this sucks.
Not even close to layne…
No shit, do you think the fact that Layne isn't performing might be why?
