Krea does love adding contrast and HDR effects. I always include "HDR, contrasty" in the negative prompts.

Agreed! I tend to think they’re cooking in the kitchen. Runway has been silent for far too long. Like, suspiciously so.

I'm going to circle back to the Krea upscaler once I get a chance to play around with it a bit more. I'm convinced with the right settings, we're going to get some super cool stuff out of it!

Man AI evolves SO FAST and we are still at the beginning. It's stunning but at the same time scary. Where we at in 5 - 10 years from now? The gaming industry will be completely change within the next few years, till the hardware is good enough to run AI with ease on your own PC. There will be several AI engines or just THE ONE/EVERYTHING AI GAME ENGINE and you probably buy prompts for a game insteat of buying an actual game. Or you create your own game based on your own prompt. The future will be insane, it is so crazy.
playing around with some new AI 3d stuff right now! Should have a video up pretty soon on all this stuff. I said it in Nov of last year: Start brushing up on some 3d basics! (And really, all you need is the basics!)

Great video, nice work! So much competition hitting with the AI video. I feel they are all scrambling to get a "one up". But imagine your company gets to a good point to release an update - and then another company puts something out better than yours. Do you release, or get back to work to increase quality? I feel if someone like Runway or Pika release anything less than what we are seeing now would cause them to pause. Its also a tough crowd out there - anything less than what is expected from any of these companies would cause some harsh feedback.
And the Keith Richards reference! haha. I feel if he stops doing drugs he would die. They are definitely keeping him alive, somehow. I need to look into his diet.

Thank you for the video! I do have one question, if you could answer, please. I work with AI videos, and I would love to use Krea upscaler, but is there a way to upscale the video without changing the real footage, just give it a bit more details and clarity, without changing colors and textures?

Really impressive stuff, I wondered if you were going to run the Krea output through Rope or FaceFusion first before then performing a final upscale. Would have been interested to see the results there. Shame about the Krea price point, but fair enough.
I still need to try that! More experiments coming soon! Curious as well to see which direction works best!
What if you upscale a video, then run it through the upscale again? Does it get twice as good?

Apparently Topaz have no plans to make a creative AI upscaler for AI generate content for either photo or video, I don't know if this is true. As an owner I really hope they do because I fear it won't be long until the Topaz software is redundant.
The problem I have with video to video ai is the shot to shot consistency. It just isn't there yet and is very difficult to clean up. I haven't tried ltx yet?
Hop on that waitlist! I think they're opening up the doors fully really soon. I'm going to test some of the shot to shot consistency this week. I think if you keep the AI sliders on the lower side, it should work.

Another great and informative video. Please make a new workflow of these apps for the best outputs + your experience and guide us. I want to make such videos and explore the possibility of using them commercially. I am ok with paid subscriptions if the output is usable in some way in a commercial project.

Why not use Korea first and then use topaz on top of it to upscale it even more?
In Krea, what exactly does 1.5K resolution mean? What are your before and after resolutions?
There's a bunch of that halo effect going on with the upscaling, like when you put something though a sharpen tool on Photoshop on too high a strength
WOW, Krea done good on this (and remember its the worst its gona be). Would love to try this but at around £47 ($60) its a bit high for me currently when you add in other tools i pay for. May treat myself next month just to try it as it looks great.

A bit costly right now, I understand-- but, I think this will follow the same pattern as the image upscalers and will soon be pretty much standard w/ all the Video generators soon enough. Still, amazing results.

Good question. I have not pushed it yet. I'm going to do a followup using Dream Machine (have you seen that video yet? I just put it out) so, I'll test it out there!

Yup! I talked a bit about that in the LTX segment! The difference w/ the Krea version is that the Creative Upscale will "imagine" some new details for you. Some like that, some don't. I've always been a fan, and consider it a "second pass" on images-- but, I also like the fact that you can dial it down if needed.
ltx studio is ok but the beta NEEDS a better video model ASAP: or it will LAG behind kling, luma and runway gen 3 VERY quickly.

Topaz is great, but paying for updates is kind of not so great, because it feels like they update every week so you‘re running out of free updates very quickly 😅
You dont pay for updates. When you pay again you get updates for a year...

It does. I have some more experimenting to do, because those sliders become REAL important at that point, but I can confirm it works.

Hm I always had issues with any type of upscalers because the quality changes a little too much for my liking (guess I’m a little too a*al about that kinda stuff) but video upscaling might be something good to use if the original generation’s quality can be improved upon, albeit it still being random I guess. Thanks for the vid!
