The 2 outside sensors need to be oem ones. Centres can be eBay ones. Hope this helps anyone

Hi there, I had the same problem and had to take the rear bumper off. Just remove some of the plastic trim in the boot and then 6 nuts hold the bumper on. To test the connection plug use a multi meter on the continuity setting. One of wires turned out to damaged near the plug end. Soldered in a new section of wire .
    Hope this helps

Posting this for anyone else trawling for solutions as I know it’s an old video. There is an issue in that the two outer ones MUST be genuine but the inner two can be aftermarket. Note you can use Landrover (Valeo) parts as Valeo were the OEM manufacturer apparently and much cheaper than BMW dealers - this is the best article I found: forums.m3cutters.co.uk/threads/cheap-pdc-sensors-no-good.106767/

I have similar problem with my car. When put in reverse (auto gear box) long beep sound about 3s occurred. Two of four sensors weren't clicking. I saw that the connectors were not plugged in good. I clean the connectors and plugged in and have clicking sounds of every 4 sensors. Than start the procedure and car works perfectly but only 5min .After that i lose every sound in cabin. Now wouldn't beep when i put in reverse or when parking nothing. The sensors are clicking but i lose the sound.

I have the same issue on my M3. Just saw another video from DiagnosticWorld. Looks like if sensors fail, it should trigger a code - it actually tells you which sensor is malfunctioning... Which also has to be cleared once sensor was replaced.

xiaorpowr it's not the sensor's it's the control unit in the glove box where the fuses are, £19 for a 2nd hand uniylt on eBay swapped them over and now works perfectly.

Andrei Alin . No sorry nothing I've tried has worked, checked all fuses I even changed the sensors themselves and gave the rear bumper a good clean but still no luck. they do work now and again very frustrating but when I do get them to work I will upload a video asap.

Hi mate you don’t need to remove the bumper.. the black plastic trim across the whole bumper which the sensors sit in removes separately prise of from the edge and pall. I did it myself very easy fix.. I’ve replace all my sensors and I’m just waiting for the fault reader to clear the error code

Lee Murphy you must replace the white plastic box, where PDC is standing on.
It‘s right in the package room under one of this carpet covers.
There ar normally two plugs with about 10 cables. One is white and one is i think blue at the E46 and violet at the E39.
