Erik Betts was credited as being one of the Putty Patrollers on Seasons 1&2 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in addition to as he says a stunt/martial arts actor for the Red and Green Rangers. He also was Panther on WMAC Masters.
Just to clear some things up, Austin St. John and Jason David Frank did portray the red and green rangers but it was Erik Betts who did the action scenes on MMPR.
Eric Betts putty patroller 60 episodes 1993-1994 (not a power ranger at all Austin St. John and Jason David Frank were professional in martial arts they did there own stunts) however all footage with helmet on was from Senti so Eric Betts is a lier and a fraudulent use of Fame he was a putty nothing else even his bio says so and the power rangers cast list he lied to get all eyes on him in this and he sucked which proves he lied
@@darksuperman2099 actually according to imdb....yes he was the red and green stunt double..... Its likely the show didnt want austin or jason potentially getting injured. Yes both were able to do it...that doesnt mean they did....stunt doubles have been doing that for years ..there has even been some battles behind the actor who is capable wanted to do the stunts but the production company wouldn't allow it
Man,I wish Capcom would have made this into an arcade game. Imagine Chun-Li against the original six Gladiators like Lace or Zap, or Ken vs Nitro. Half of SF's fighters are athletes. It be hilarious and awesome to see how the Assault Round would go without their special moves and just parry the attacks
@@grizzlor5340 Red Dragon (Chris Cassamasa) was Scorpion (of course, the voice being provided by Ed Boon). In addition, Hakeem Alston (The Machine) was the first guy Liu Kang fought when they got to the Kombat Island in the first movie.
Eric Betts was also Panther in WMAC Masters among dozens of other stunt work for everything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to the most recent GI Joe flick.
it's interesting to watch this after seeing the Netflix documentary they mentioned that after some of the Gladiators sued for licensing rights and were fired from the show, they changed the format of the gladiators show to focus more on the contestants and less emphasis on the gladiators themselves episodes like this kind of prove that to be true
As a kid, I thought the actors who played the Power Rangers did all their own stunts and everything. I didn't even know it was adapted from and used footage from Super Sentai!
No. It's mostly the megazord/mecha fights and morphed fights that are footage spliced from it and overdubbed by the actors. The only time that it's not footage from Jyurenjaa/Dairenjaa/Kakurenjaa etc, is the unmorphed fights or some american exclusive footage (i.e. Thunder Megazord vs White Tigerzord)
I can see him doing the stunts for ASJ but JDF? He did a lot of his own stunts, so it kinda makes it wierd to see the green ranger in the background when considering that Betts was only photoed in the Red Ranger suit and as one of the Putties.
These gladiators are not really bad. They are just doing their job. At the end of the show I like how the gladiators give the contenders their props at the end. The omly gladiator I do not like is Turbo. He was very mean.
Power ranger guy acts so tough yet he only got one basket in powerball, scored 5 for being a bitch in hang tough, 10 because Turbo cheated. those are his points. So basically, he only really got 2 points which is even worse than his opponent. Then he lost the lead in the Eliminator, and his aforementioned suckier opponent was too out of shape to so it took him about 7 years to get up the versaclimber and then he couldn't get up the damn treadmill in the end.
It looks like he came into the competition injured. You can tell by his taped up knee and the way he bent it when he did that backflip during his interview.
Paul Ferugheli And somehow thats supposed to make me respect his WWE run? He is constantly referred to by the company as one of the biggest lows in the companies history. I didn't make it that way , he did.
Paul Ferugheli Hahaha him being a former football player doesn't command respect. Should we all show a little respect to Rae Carruth or Aaron Hernandez too?
Tae bo reference, hahaha. I remember this episode (I didn't know who Billy Blanks was at the time). I'm sure the contenders were good athletes, but it was one of the worst combined performances on the show. Only 20 combined points, and 10 of them came on a disqualification (though in fairness, I think Erik would've made it to the top). Other than that, only 2 combined Powerball goals, and 5 Hang Tough points when the contender made no real attempt to get to the other side.

I remember this episode! This is Panther from WMAC Masters! Lol
Speaking of WMAC Masters, one of the masters became an on-screen Power Ranger.
@@animefan25 which one

Mystic Night you’re hating too hard. Jason and Austin body frame changes in the uniform...clearly they did not do every stunt...stfu
He was also panther in WMAC masters.
"It's Morphing Time!"
I remember this.. Erik Betts (“Panther” WMAC Masters), he’s cool.

It was on the NES
One of The Gladiators, is Name For One of The Power Rangers Seasons: Turbo.
I'm coming for you Tsunami!!
I don't think too many others will get this reference. Well played.
this version of Gladiators I like best when the uphill treadmill is at the end!!!
Erik Betts was a WMAC master
His Ki Symbol is Panther
He probably got the job offer after that back flip 😂
The Gladiator Sabre went on to play Jax in the Mortal Kombat Annihilation
And Malibu played Motaro.

My favorite cast member was former Raw General Manager Mike Adamle
What about Houston's Own Lisa Malosky, tho???
Eric Betts was also Panther in WMAC Masters among dozens of other stunt work for everything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to the most recent GI Joe flick.
Seeing him right off the bat, I thought "I've seen his face before", then I realized, he's Panther on WMAC Masters too.
I miss the show
@37mafia1 Erik Betts was a stunt double for MMPR Green and Red. He also played Pudgy Pig.
Erik's "Girlfriend" watches on...
This show is awesome.
watch the UK verison
Ty Marshall is there a difference? and what is it called
In the UK it's just called Gladiators and its better and the Intro is way better than the American Gladiators
my boy panther from wmac masters.
Deshawn Holmes I was hoping someone else would know that as well. Rock on!
back in the day...people were more physically active compared to todays generation
your not the only one who thinks that
*you're
How come you say that? I see a lot of physical activity in stuff like the WWE.
Isn't Saber Jacks in the second Mortal Kombat movie and Raven in Tekken?
Yes he played Jax in Mortal Kombat: Annialation.
“Eric’s girlfriend Gloria”..idk about that one 😂.

He did stunts for ASJ...but he done a couple stunt scenes as green ranger til he broke his hip
Super Mega Rangers, that is definitely a Super Mega Win!
I think I remember this episode way back when!
you have more episodes , Season 4 perhaps ?
losing time 4 an injury check and making it up 4 a big victory, eric is some contender.
I've been looking for this so I asked Erik Betts himself and he sent it to me
could you upload some compelte episodes from Season 3 - 4
If he was a power ranger, what color was he?
Red/Green. He was the stunt double for Tommy and Jason.
PANTHER!!!
I recalled that because I remember many days of hearing him say "I AM PANTHER"
The one thing they did not indicate that the guy is just a stunt man not the actual Ranger
Dame he sweet he was just playing with them
That was a pretty close that's for sure
That event was a farce when one gladiator crossed the line at the Wall

It WAS good watching guys like Kyler Storm and Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry embarrass Turbo.
Mike adamli was a very good commentator on here, he should've never gone over to the wwe
Adamle was in the early stages of dementia at the time.

Erik Betts Ki Symbol Panther
Lets get one thing straight, he was a Ranger stuntman, he wasn't an actual Ranger!!!!! LOL

He was a former football player. Show a little respect.

This rerun aired the year that the team finished with the second-worst record in the NFL (it came from a fall 2007 rerun on ESPN Classic.)

They did.

power ranger stunt double, not power ranger
