browse for info, KRAFTWERK - Computer love, the original melodie is "quoted" by coldplay in whatever's the name of the song, ok? just check by yourself, bye
@eat0the0earth Coldplay asked permission for the song directly from Ralf Hutter, and he said yes. Personally, I'd like to see a remix of both songs together, lyrics and all, with some tempo adjustment.
oooh I just got Computer World. I need radio activity, kraftwerk 1 and 2 to complete my kraftwerk cd collection. Well, I´d still need some german and english versions, but, you know...
apparently, coldplay spent months goin thru kraftwerks lawyers and putting loads of effort into contacting the band to ask to use the riff, and they heard nothing back apart from a piece of paper sent to them with "yes" written on it.
I'm guess music played on some kind of Sinclair ZX Spectrum, or maybe Yamaha MSX home computers via AY-3-8910 or YM2149F sound generators. They have same sound at same 1.75Mhz frequency. Gameboy can't sound that way. I mean just try to find some Spectrum tunes on TH-cam and listen the similarity :-)
Covox ..great job m8 ^^ great Electro-Pop/ Chiptune sound.. Kraftwerk would be proud of it.. i think Coldplay should never cover this awesome track, just negative for them xD
Yes. Slagsmålsklubben is Swedish. :) Same with Detektivbyrån. I might also recommend Machinae Supremacy, different style but similar and the creators of Sid-Metal.
@asphyxiaphilia Contaminate? how is using it in an entirely different manner AND environment contamination? Coldplay may not be your favorite band, but they're still pretty good, so have some respect.
Kraftwerk is at least 9 million times better than freaking Coldplay. It makes me sad that Ralf let them contaminate this legendary tune, though I've not heard the track sampling it and don't ever plan to. Covox, on the other hand! Respect! This version is maybe a bit busy and a bit short compared to the original but it pulls it all off, I get shivers when it all resolves around 3:00 and fades out real slow...
about the coldplay song, this particular case it's not Sampling, tecnically talking.. They quote a riff, not sample, sample is a certain technology. Good bye!
dont bother with 1&2, they are a real disappointment after hearing autobahn and after. only get it if you are real devote or a collector. 1&2 are still kind of intertesting though
Here's the deal with Coldplay. Coldplay is a business. They wanted to cover Computer Love because it's got a great melody. I'm certain their army of managers and agents insisted that they not attribute Kraftwerk because it would confuse the plebes that buy buy buy their records.
I love Covox, one of my favorites.
Found this on Pandora, thanks for the upload, I wanted to share it with friends.
Lovely! 8 bit all the way!
KRAFTWERK !! YEAHHH !! Alter, ohne Kraftwerk gäbe fast all die geilen, elektronischen Trax auf der Welt nicht !!
this is brilliant!
Best song ever 💕
love it, love it, love it!!! simlpy...
Even on 8-bit equipment, this song is still a timeless classic.
Wow, yeah, nothing compares! This is great
Simplesmente espetacular nossa é uma obra prima chega a emocionar tempos que não voltam
Amaizing Gameboy version !
I love Covox one more than the original :)
Awesome cover!

Timeless german classic.

I stand corrected!
@asphyxiaphilia 'though I've not heard the track sampling it and don't ever plan to'
Then you do get an opinion
I remember the first time I heard this song in a compilation of Virtual Boy video game footage. Sweet.

Thats because it's made on a Gameboy :D
This song reminds me of a girl. A girl i will never ever get the chance to get closer to...

awesome! Could somebody say me who Covox is? i didn`t find info about him..
He is Thomas Söderlund from Sweden. If you go to my page you can see his first live apperence.
Sweden again!) I see plenty of talented people from Sweden write amazing 8 bit music! Slaagsmaalclubben (sorry if some errors) is from Sweden either?
Yes. Slagsmålsklubben is Swedish. :)
Same with Detektivbyrån. I might also recommend Machinae Supremacy, different style but similar and the creators of Sid-Metal.
Ok, Thanks! Anyway my absolutely favorite is 047 another Swedish group. I wish they don`t write music anymore((
Ok. I dont know them but will check it out. :)
how did u make this? where do u get the 8bit things and is it easy to use?
Is it weird that i only know of Computer Love, and nothing of this Coldplay song?
@asphyxiaphilia Contaminate? how is using it in an entirely different manner AND environment contamination? Coldplay may not be your favorite band, but they're still pretty good, so have some respect.
coldplay ASKED if they could use it and they said yes. so they didnt steal it.
liar, one of your yes's is wrong, filthy bitch

who do you really think wrote the hook? the 80s band or the 90s band?

No 4 bit?
what?
The lyrics are totally re-arranged or wrong, but still a good version!

That Tune sounds like Talk by Coldplay
this is such a bad cover of computer love by kraftwerk
