    I have the same planter and can’t figure out how to get those middle closing rollers to stop bulldozing ground unless I roll the top link way way back. Glad to see I’m not the only one but I feel like it should be a bigger diameter roller so it actually forms the row and shuts the row

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I figured it out. Till the ground. Let it rain on the ground and dry. This makes the ground firm allowing the roller to work properly. The planter doesn't like fluffy dirt.

    Those two packer rollers that run in front of the seed drop. Looks like they dig in and slid a lot. Is that because your to deep or what. Looks like a nice unit for planting. Maybe its just me, but I always make my rows with the slope of the land so that way water can drain with the slope. When you make rows cross ways, water will erode the downward rows and wash the rows away. Looks like your plots are like mine where it slopes both directions. I always go with the slope that is the greatest. Here in Louisiana, we get over 60+ inches of rain per year not counting hurricanes, so its imperative we do what we can to capture water by using cover crops or divert water as much as possible.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't have enough grade to worry with it. The agriculture agency recommends rows like I have to slow the water down; thereby, decreasing erosion. If the rows are straight down hill, the water speeds up running off and cuts.

    Hi Tony, Hay what's one of those Planters worth in those parts? Looks real nifty. By the way My T265 turned up after waiting for it for 7 months, the hangup was waiting for the backhoe attachment & just like you I really like this tractor. You get a lot more with the TYM than a JD or a Kubota these days.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      TYM is a great value, plus they are tough. My T474 has over 200 hours of hard work, but not one failure. The T25 has 83 hours with no failures. The planter seems to work really well. I know how to set it up now, so next year will be easier.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy a spreader or drop fertilizer by hand. Fertilizer has become so expensive, it is not economical to broadcast anymore. Some more complex planters have fertilizer hoppers, but mine only puts down seed.

    Problem with the spacing you are using you will be compacting the soil next to where you are planting.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      No issue. The pounds per square inch of soil under the tires is roughly 13 pounds. This is why most tractors come with big fluffy tires or many tires.

    I have tilled twice a few weeks ago after I got my new TYM 264. I will till again this weekend and plant if it stays dry. I started filling my tires today and only got one done. I kept seeing everyone with the tractor on the ground have the bead break. So, I thought I will take mine up just off the ground and it worked like a charm, until it didn't. My bead broke! I did the old ratchet strap and got it back on again and was in the home stretch and it broke again. I put the onion to the strap and finished one side. If my calculations are right, I lost about 5 gallons. I won't even mess much with the release valve. When I hear the pump labor, I will shut it off. I think more than anything that's why it finally worked I just essentially stopped the pump and let it breathe off air and eventually fluid. What a deal. Had to run all the dogs off and close the doors. I will overcome! After I buy another case ;o)
