Never got the chance yet, but they seem to offer a decent product for very affordable fares. Their crews also come across as extremely friendly, very typical malaysia. As a plus, they have a small fleet of A350s that fly exclusive routes, so it’s worth trying to seek it out as an avgeek to say “I’ve been on the MH A350”.
ive been on the Malaysian Airlines A350 From heathrow to Kuala Lumpur. Everything about it was really good. I dont see why people shouldn’t take Malaysia Airlines. And its really cheap considering if you want a Layover to Australia Rather Going Direct.
Personally flown on MAS airline's Boeing 737 for FREE! it was 2020 and covid lockdown hit when I was at Vietnam. Malaysia took the virtue to bring back every Malaysian back to our home with their own fleet. Kinda suprised because despite being an evacuation transport, they still treated every passenger with good services and in declining financial stability Malaysian Airlines still made sure every citizen gets back home safely without any charge
I have flown with Malaysia Airlines on their Boeing 747-400, Boeing 777, A330, Boeing 737-400 , Boeing 737-200 & 300, and Fokker-50. My destinations or departures are as follows: 1. Alor Setar 2. Dubai 3. Johore Bahru - Senai 4. Kota Bharu 5. Kota Kinabalu 6. Kuala Lumpur International 7. Kuching 8. Labuan 9. London Heathrow 10. Miri 11. Penang 12. Perth, Australia 🇦🇺 13. Sibu 14. I asked that on a video on the main channel yesterday and Simple Flying replied and said that he is on the road and has a different microphone to the one he usually uses
Hey simple flying! big fan here I just wanted to give a suggestion for possibly the next fleet deep dive video! So here is my suggestion "Air India". Hope you can do this airline!
Malaysia airlines is one of my favourite airlines (probably because I've flown them a lot), The A350s on the Heathrow- Kuala Lumpur route are great, comfortable, friendly crew, good entertainment, great food and a smooth flight
6:18 London, Tokyo (NRT&HND) and Auckland (AKL). But the latter 2 are not always guaranteed to get the A350s, sometimes they use A330s for those routes.
KUL-SYD routes are now so busy. Not sure why Malaysia Airlines does not try to operate this route using the A380. Many transit passengers to India, China and Korea uses KLIA as a transit hub because its typically much cheaper than transiting via Changi
I had the good pleasure of flying onboard one of Malaysia Airline's Airbus A380 between London and Kuala Lumpur. Unsurprisingly, that remains my favourite aviation experience to-date. Whilst this video covers the current fleet rather well, I'd also like to share, that many years ago, Malaysia Airlines used to pride itself on the quality, warmth and hospitality of their cabin crew. Unfortunately, that's a quality Malaysia Airlines seem to have lost in the last decade or so. Cabin crews on my flights in recent years haven't been as friendly, warm and helpful. In fact, I get better services from cabin crews of its national and regional competitor, Airasia. Hope it's something the airline can work on so that we can one day see a return of the spirit of its old tagine, MH is Malaysian Hospitality.
Interesting choice to remove IFE from their refurbished 737s and install tablet holders instead. Could this be a new trend for short haul aircraft on full service carriers, what with streaming services becoming popular? The airlines save on maintenance and fuel through reduced weight too. Is lack of IFE a deal breaker for travellers, even if these streaming content through airlines’ app, is available?
I flew from Melbourne to KL for two F1 GPs on a A333....both trips were great due to the top service by the cabin crew and the quality meals......really appreciated the courtesy and effort from them.....10/10!
2024 here, malaysia airlines are sending its a350s to tokyo, london, doha and melbourne. a350 is becoming the long haul powerhouse as a replacement soon.
Fyi, “Mohd” in any Malay name is pronounced “Mohammad”. Is a shorterned version, used due to name registration simplification. At time, its further simplified to “M.” eg. “M. Ali”.
Recent reduction in frequency due due availability of parts & newer aircraft, MAS need to look beyond legacy supplier like Embraer which offer newer aircraft for regional route. This might help MAS aggressive expansion!
thats because the a380s are not good enough for airlines and are stored, they need to at least go to some flying for a bit or else they will sit there rusting and might not be suited for flying after a long time of storing.
Surprising that not a word was spoken of Malaysia Airlines most famous and rather cursed flagship, B777-200ers most famous for, we all know why! Their intro into the fleet in 1997 was widely publicized and actually the longest flight recorded till around 2006 I think (MRA registered triple 7). Post pandemic and twin accidents the 777,747,380 long haul fleet disappeared and only the much smaller 350s, that too only 6 remain! Hope in the future they buy larger jets like the 350-1000 or the 777-9 or best of all bring back their 380s. But it's nearly impossible and practically non happening🙃
Malaysia Airlines should purchased more of the A350’s rather than only 6 fleet. also the B787-10, A330-900NEO and A321-LR for more long hauls and fuel efficiency
Thank you for the video. Did you get a cold? Your voice sounds like another person, but the rhythm and way of speaking is clearly the same like always.
MAS should follow Vietnam Airlines fleet modernization. The biggest mistake is buying A389 in the first place. They should have gone for B748 instead last longer! Yet they should variance their fleets by adding more A359 and B789, the you have the future bright
I'd buy those A380s if I could get them for the ridiculously low price of €1 each plus a share of any profits made from them for x amount of years. But in reality Malaysia Airlines wouldn't agree to that because my business model would be (pardon the pun) winging it.
I have flown all their types over the last few decades. Perfectly satisfactory. However try getting a refund from the airline and the verdict descends to utterly abysmal

Only the longhaul routes are worth it. In short domestic and asian routes you're better off with any airline other than MH.

Flew on their A330s recently. Not terrible but they are showing their age especially with other Asian carriers having 787/A350s to ICN.
Their a330-232 is really old, from air Berlin
Really need to get rid of those

Did the host pick up a new microphone? Does sound nice and crisp but maybe a bit too radio-like, the old one was a bit more gentle and pleasant.

flown in one of the a380s back in 2013 to london heathrow..13hrs flight. a380 is majestic..

@@WafiyNF24alt no, the a380 is a failure. no one was dramatic or talked much about it during its retirement for most airlines.

It's sad that they are now focusing on the Asia-Pacific region so Europe and American destinations probably won't come back
