I have this and it won't find the light on the app, Tried adding serial number and still won't find it. edit : After 2 hours of nearly tearing my hair out and yelling and screaming at my pc(lol) I got it to work, Tried everything and was about to return it. Make sure you put the controller box VERTICAL on the back of your monitor, I'm not joking that fixed it for me as I had it horizontal thinking it wouldn't matter. Hope this helps someone from stressing out. What an unusual problem though, Never had issues with other controllers being in a different position.
arena 7 can reflect the screen color also it helps led strips also but they are not strong enough. actually lifgt strips turns off when screen is black but arena 7 do not turn off totally it give a little light enough to see around a bit untill sreen color is back for led strip..
Can I ask where you got the light strip? I noticed that the power supply is for 220-240 voltage, which is surprising because I thought nowadays all power supplies are for 100-240v. Thank you.
Yikes, I thought the Corsair option was expensive but damn. I mean I know Philips is a pricy brand but this is just a super basic strip and you need to also get the bridge if you dont already have it. So twice the price or more depending on the kit you get.
Hello sir Prawn ! Thanks for the great review. I'm looking for a backlight system for a Samsung g9. How does the Phillips one compare to the corsair ls100 ? I'm planing on using it mostly for gaming.
Is it possible to run two of these in series for a large monitor? (48") I don't want to buy the bigger strip and be forced to run output through a sync box
Do you think the light would still be able to be positioned correctly if my monitor had a bump going diagonally down the back? It's a part of the design from my monitor (MSI G27C5)
If i was to buy this a standard strip, and a bulb would the standard philips strip and bulb connect and mimic the colours of the game as well as the monitor strip?
@@Alex___R why do you need a phone and a hue bridge? isnt there an alternative with open source software which is cheaper and works with other RGB strips too?
Noooooooooo. My hue bridge alwayyysss disconnected. Is that common with the bridge, if not I don’t mind buying it. But there was time with mine where it literally wouldn’t work for 2 months then work for only a week etc.
@@TheProvokedPrawn oh that's awesome! My monitor has only one hdmi port and that's taken by a capture card and I was worried it would as a review I read said it did

@user-db1zv9ew5u Yep, it's Way too much. I think I'll probably purchase a standard 2m lightstrip and put it behind the monitor. Much more budget friendly. ( still 70-80 though 🤑)
Even after watching this full video, I still don’t understand how the power strip “reacts” or “syncs” to the color on the screen. I was reading other reviews on here and you said you also need a “Phillips Hue Bridge Smart Lighting Hub”? If I remember correctly? But I still don’t understand the mechanism behind how the hue hub and the light strip working together to react to the screen light. I don’t see any sensor camera which I see in govee products for that to work? I’m sorry for sounding like an amateur but this question has been bothering me for a while now. 😅
@@TheProvokedPrawn yeah, but how does the app send the colors to the lights? Via Wi-Fi > Bridge > Wi-Fi > Lights I suppose? Wouldn't that give a bit of latency between the effect on screen and what the lights shows? i still don't get it either...how can the app know what's on the monitor ? I'm pretty sure it does not react and sync to the monitor video, I can't even see it on the demo video, it's just blue all the way, makes no sense
@@whitegoodman3438 As far as I understand it, all the lights have their own "Zigbee" network. Every Zigbee device can communicate with each other, and when you setup the app on the computer, you connect it with the bridge which connects your pc to the Zigbee network. Your computer can then directly communicate to any of the lights directly, so it chooses the light with the best connection(presumably the light strip in this instance) and tells it what colors it needs to be. If you have many lights in your setup, the lightstrip may then tell the lights next to it how they're supposed to then react.
@@nicofieuhome It does actually react, the problem is the wall behind their monitor. Any color change is gonna be hard to notice on walls that aren't white, and it's particularly bad in this video. The only devices you need are the light strip and a hue bridge. (Alongside the computer and monitor, that is.)
Do you know if this will work with Hue Sync in an entertainment area? I’m wondering whether this would work as the bottom section for a TV.

Are you referring to the power box?
Hello, how does your pc connect to them? Is the strip itself enough? Do I need the bridge or the sync box?
you need the bridge but dont need the sync box if its on PC. they have a program you can download from their site instead.
Im thinking to buy this too but I have LG 45 Ultra wide is that ok for the curved monitor?. or the light will be short?.

Question: If I just want to sync my monitor and use this with the app installed on my computer, do I still need the Hue bridge ?
Dont forget that phillips release their new gaming monitor with ambiglow , yes that is Philips 252m1rpe Full HD 240Hz
I tried looking it up but can't find any info on it and only one youtuber in Indonesia had it. Guessing it'll come to the states at some point
Great way to add some personality to the setup. 👍🏽
Do u need a sync box to sync the lights?
want to know too
Does it have many spots of different color according to the screen ?
wish they made this for a larger monitor... i have a 48" gaming monitor

I cant Seem to find the 32-34” option. It only shows 24-27” monitors.
It's on the Philip's website

How do I get the hue sync box to work with only my TV or does it only work with using other their devices
which setup would you recommend for a 49" Samsung monitor, the ultra super widescreen kind of thing?
Sadly most don't cater to it. A mix of hue light strips and bulbs on the desk would work well though

Yes. If you put them all in your entertainment area in the Hue app.
Can you use the play bar expension cables to extend the power?
Will this work on a Mac?
is it worth it over the corsair ls100 for ambilight specifically?
My experience was LS100 wasn't as good th-cam.com/video/Aa6gRdqPbns/w-d-xo.html
I wonder how this would work with my big 800r curved monitors. Worried the curve will stop the adhesive from keeping the clips on
hey mate, would this work on a curved ultra wide?
yes, mounted my strip to my curved ultrawide just now!
0:54 half should be orange and the other white… doesnt seems to work properly sir.
I dont get is, where does it adapt automatically to the game or movies colors?
