That's almost exactly what happened to Rainbow in Austria. Ritchie Blackmore, like Alan Lancaster, had a fight with a bouncer during the show. The bouncer turned out to be either a cop or the hall manager. You can find this story on TH-cam too. Getting arrested after a fight is pretty scary - happened to me - but imagine the same thing overseas, with a language barrier.
Don't know what he said about the _Fourth Chord_ album, but I know he didn't like _Thirsty Work_ as it was too reliant on keyboards. My critisism of it is that it makes Quo sound like a country band.
He didn't like thirsty work AFTER it failed. He was in hospital when it was written. Same with the acoustic stuff.. it was HIS idea then he claimed he didn't like it afterwards... always took what he said with a pinch of salt... he was great at marketing
What a life he had. He maintained his sense of humour and glint in his eye throughout. RIP Rick
IMHO Status Quo are much poorer without Rick Parfitt.
Really miss Rick. Not that I knew him but wish he was still with us. He’d still be Rockin’.
Met him a few times. When he was in a good mood he was great.. Francis was always great... told me many stories.
Rick WAS Status Quo ... Rossi was the frontman .. But Rick was the pure spark that carried QUO.
Rick was the sound of Quo.
Rossi is and always be Quo.
'I'm shoved in this cell with an armed bank robber - he was a nice guy, actually, we got on all right'. Classic.
I bought the EP when it came out. It was released in 1975 to celebrate the band's 13th anniversary. I was 15.
Snap!
Really enjoyed this
Glad you enjoyed it
Great guy 👍
