@@pacbiggie4338 Oh, when they came the didn't have no tongue, no believe, no traditions, no values , no social structures, no history, ...?
Thàt is non-sense. But as the living social identity and memory is Congolese, of course, Congolese they are.
That said, the Benye to the lake Tchad, the Chari or the Ouaddai, than the Bahr Al Gazal ...is one of the roads : Bantu-speaking people that cultivated eleusine coracana ,their ancestor passed by Ethiopian highlands ( Bakongo)... But there ancestors can to have taken a road more north ( at least - 2500 BC ... maybe 4 000 BC )...From Djoliba Sokoto - Gagere - Komadugu ...to reach Lake Tchad, the area was a lot less dry...
It is not important : cattle came from Mali, but they can have learned breeding cattle... The cattle passed north ...however resistant to trypanosomiasis... it has been recrossed a first time with auroch , out of Africa, and gave Bos Zebu or Bos Indicus. A part went south and west again, and the culture of eleusine picked on the road....
Others moved trough the grasslands of Bateke or the Sangha, passing by Cameroon. All are Bantu-speaking people, but the migratory movement is very old, and ...tiny. A lot more important movement follows the raids of slave-hunters, and people run from al sides, terrorise to survive, and start new nations... and so are born most of Congolese modern "tribes". With a legend of ancestor-hunter discovering new fertile lands...
The roots in Nigeria are often very old... and gone...a very long time ago. Maybe all long before 1000 BP ? We can't see , if we find bones and pottery which tongue they spoke... I have "long hair" and do speak lingala...and nengue tongo of the Marroons of the Maroni-Tapanahony... never they would be able to see that on my bones.........so, let us be carefull with such suppositions.... Maybe they didn't speak Bantu at all and learned them, as the Pygmee-tribes did learn them... Kinshasa speaks ( poor) lingala, "Indubil", but most ancients were Bakongo..... Marroons speak an Indo-European, germanic language... and the Saramacca have still a Luangu-culture.......

Sorry to disapoint, but the Afro- Brasilians are descendants of Angolans and not Congolese. As part of the Portuguese colonies, slaves mostly from Angola and few other Portuguese colonies, such as, Cabo verde, Guine Bissau, Saö Tome, Moçambique, etc, were taken to Brazil, where they settled. The Congolese were colonised by the Belgians and taken to Belgian/ French colonies throughout the Caribean etc.
Not that it matters much, because whatever part of the continent they were taken from, they were All Africans.

I am not african, but watch lots of videos filled with beatiful music and dances all the time, these people are specially talented for that, nobody, just nobody comes close to them, and they make it look so naturally and easy, I can also say that nobody enjoys singing and dancing like they do, no matter in which country they live. And, as you can see, they perform wherever they can, they are the attraction, not the place. Thank you for uploading.

Stanley, all of Africa is Bantu. Same tribes-same people. Gikuyu = Kru = Khulu = Guru, Ngweni = Kweny - this is the tribe of the Khoi khoi or Khoekhoe or Khoesan or bushmen - hunter-gatherers that is all the way from Mauritania/morocco all the way down to the tp of South Africa, including kenya, Ithiopia, Chad, Sudan, Israel, yemen, all of Asia, it also houses the (m)Bete, Nzima, Madiba (nelson Mandela's clan name)/Madida/Malinga/Masinga/Mashinga/Madinka/Malinka clan, of which the Sotho Lozwi/Rosvi Mambos come from - a lot of Zulus and the Ngwane/Wane clan from which most Zulus, Sothos, Luba, Lunda, Kituba, Kikongo, Nigeria, Benin, Gabon, Mali (or Madi), the King of Swaziland is a Ngwane- Swaziland used to be called KwaNgwane, Tswanas and Machi etc. fall under this group and there are more than 800m of us in Africa, Gusii = Kisii = Nkosi = Ekossi = Ngozi (KiNgozi is a predecessor to Swahili or Swazi/nguni languages), Mambo = Embu = Igbo = Oshivambo and then under Gusii you have Fing/Bafikeng/Mhinga/Mohecans, Fong/Hongo/Kongo/Bafokeng/Mohawks, the Meru/Moroa/Borwa/Birwa or Mlilwana/Mlilo/Biro - the Moros, you have the Nama, the Mbatha, the Ndaba etc. You still have pure Zulus such as Zulawa, Wasoulou who have a musical instrument called Nguni. You also have the Jukun who say they came from kwararafa/kororofa which was in Zanj/Zanzi/Zagwe Ithiopia/Ithyopho which was in the South East Coast all the way down to South Africa. we call ourselves Nguni by the way, meaning we are Kuni/Kone/Koni/Ngoni. At least 10m West Africans came to South Africa before colonisation. We passed Kikongo and all the great African city states at the time and stayed there. All Africans have common ancestry, even the Ethiopians who claim they are different - we have the Silomo/Dlomo/Pokomo/Dolomo/Duruma/Oromos all over Africa.

Bantu cultures are predominantly in Central Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa. There are only a small portion in Southeastern Nigeria, beyond Nigeria they are not typically native to West Africa. If you are speaking of West Central Africa yes, but there aren’t any in Benin, none in Niger, none in Togo none in Mali, none in Ghana, none in Burkina Faso, none in Liberia, none is the Ivory Coast, none in Sierra Leone, none in Guinea, none in Guinea Bissau, none in Senegal, & none in the Gambia.

Be little quiet : it is almost non-sense : part of Congolese come of recent migrations out of Cameroon ( Bateke, Anamongo, Nakusu, Ntetela,...) others of the highlands of Zambia ans Zimbabwé, related to the Nguni , as Baluba, Lunda, "Bangala"...). Bakongo start to come a lot earlier , from actual Tanzania by Katanga till Kasai.
Other recent migration, Bantu and Nilotic of north-eastern Congo . And some people of Oubanghui - , Ngbandi - came relatively recently from the south of Darfour (Dar Fertit) as do Lendu and Mangbetu. Ngbaka come from eastern Cameroon.
The kings of the historical dinasty of Congo were Teke of Cameroon, where no Teke remained.(State of Anzika)
All those got mixed up less or more during migrations ans slave-wars and colonial interference.
57% is just non-sense. But it could be Coastal central Africa south of the Ougoué till Namib; It could be Central Congo of West-African origin , Central Congo of South African origin , with but few "mixing" . Luba wouldn't marry easily nor Kongo , nor Babeembe ... matrilinear cultures, and neither dispized Anamongo.
      ...
But, if you would be Ndeko, you will be Mwana Congo...and, however I am Mundele, I am mwana Kongo, "nabotami mbala mibale, nzoto na poto, molimo na mboka, and I give You : be wellcome home".....

How is this possible? The way they sang when he sing started is how we Zulu people sing. It's like the same style of singing. Africa is one.

We are all Bantu. Even our languages often sound alike. This area is where the Bantu migration started.

If you can't see past the dirt and appreciate the beauty of the moving bodies and the rythm of the sounds, especially the gongs, then you are lost

I am white European Australian but I take an interest in cultures very different from my own. I can't understand what these people are trying to express but I like their joy in movement and the drum rhythms and voices. Music speaks an international language that all humanity can understand because it speaks through the emotions, not the intellect. These look like very real, authentic natural performers, not too stylized. I like the different people doing their culture in their natural, unpolished way, not too stylized. Just natural.
