Howard the Duck is one of my favourite 80s movies! The suit was part of the charm, and it had great VFX and an amazing soundtrack! 10/10 from me, and not even in an Ironic way.
I think Howard The Duck would have been ruined with animation. The duck outfit was part of it's charm. Great to see her positive attitude toward her movies! So many actors put them down as if they were too good for them.
I was working at Universal as a kid in security and I drove a car on the lot and had the keys to mostly everything.. One day of many I was bored and decided to check out the apartment interiors on New York Street on the backlot. I went down to a few of the lower apartments and was shocked at what I found. One or two of the fake apartments were FILLED with Howard the Duck scripts and props and miscellaneous stuff!! This was about 1 and a half years after the movie had tanked at the box office so I was baffled as to why this stuff was sitting there seemingly abandoned instead of having been collected up after production finished like most movies. I was part of a Christian Bible Study that took place once a week in "the Big Black Tower" building on the lot and one of my friends worked in the finance office of the Studio so when I got the chance I asked him about the stuff I found from Howard the Duck. I'll never forget.. He laughed and said that he was working a lot of the days after the film was released and when the earnings reports were delivered to his office the person in charge of the financials for the picture would just drop his head and shake it in disbelief.. It was very sad. He said they had just given up on the film and really didn't care about it anymore.. Just one of my many little fun Universal happenings..
Thanks for sharing that awsome story! Make sure to post your eyewitness account elsewhere as well, just in case this TH-cam video is taken down for whatever reason (change in copyright policy, ownership, licencing, etc.).
Hey, I think Howard the Duck was awesome! I don’t know what’s wrong with people sometimes. It didn’t get any of what it deserves in the box office. Lea was awesome, and it wasn’t bad that she sang too. The Back to the Future sequels are a perfect demonstration of how groundbreaking both Industrial Light and Magic aaaand Amblin could get, distantly establishing capabilities for filmmaking that are taken for granted today. I didn’t realize Lea was married to Howard Deutsch, the director of Pretty in Pink.
16:30 she talks about the Suzuki samurai and she sounded like she was from Minnesota! Just that one little bit. So I looked it up and she’s from Minnesota! I gotta good ear, what can I say;)
It’s wincing to the fact that Leah Thompson has her character around her that makes her very invert and overmatched meeting void In that regard. I wonder if she is ever done something so fascinating that people would never have expected itIt’s rinsing all. 1:43
@ricardo demetrio alonso rojas I kow that movie have many followers, I also watched it as a child, but I think that it was a flop and a bad movie. I hope that soon a new movie would be released... I liked the cameo at the end of Guardians of the galaxy.
@@pedrorodriguez2755 That's just not true. It was a flop at the time, but it also has a HUGE cult following, and no movie considered to be "one of the worst of all time" could possibly do that.
So sexy in Howard the Duck. I was so jealous of that cigar smoking water fowl. Lea would have made an AWESOME catwoman with her dancer build. Julie Newmar build with an even more angelic face.
Eddie Murphy lifted that whole thing they did with Michael playing the entire family at the dinner table for his movie The Nutty professor, The Klumps....
Quick question, why is the most interesting thing that Lea Thompson is ever done on her tire life? I mean the Jane doe Was supposed to be a success, a great success, but what is better for c type of? counterbalance to her Hollywood film, making.
I just bought this on 4k metal cover. The reason why is what she hinted to. It was duck with a fine ass white girl. Simple as that. And she's right. She's being modest. But she had a smoking hot body and the camera should have been on her constantly. And she is right crispen was a genius. Now movie directors can't use your part without your permission. He did something for everyone. This is a very nice woman who definitely understands how beautiful she is. And understands she's a lucky woman and appreciates all people. I'm sure those reviews were very mean.
Lea.my God in heaven they had him upside because from his point of view the twin towers were falling ......they were mad at him for missing his marks? That wasn't even him that was a imposter...They were so made at him for missing his marks from 3 years ago they made the imposter hang upside down..i cant believe you are that nieve.
She seems rather bitter about Howard The Duck. I guess I get that. Because it was supposed to be this hot project and another successful movie for her, but it was pretty badly mismanaged and turned into an embarrassment. Much of the success she garnered from back to the future got wiped away with this movie.

9:40 - I so respect her acting ability, because she said that without cracking up.
My entire family loves the Howard the Duck film!
shes still a heart throb for me even today
Same
This was 16 years ago buddy

Great comment section. Well done.

Howard the duck was a flop? I loved that movie as a kidd.
It is regarded as one of the worst movies of all time.

@ricardo demetrio alonso rojas If its done with time, and the closest to the comics, I think if would be great.

Interesting, she’s good on such levels and so concentrate on others. She really knows how to give a kick to it. 1:56.
Hey, @Henryk6203. I couldn't agree more. Thanks for watching!
Best, David
I always liked Howard the Duck !!! Its not a great movie but its nowhere near awful.
So sexy in Howard the Duck. I was so jealous of that cigar smoking water fowl. Lea would have made an AWESOME catwoman with her dancer build. Julie Newmar build with an even more angelic face.
True !
What a wonderful woman.
It was not the Ducks fault and this movie was not bad at all, great animations, music etc.. The audience was not ready for it at this time.
Lea is a FUNNY beautiful and talented LADY!!
Eddie Murphy lifted that whole thing they did with Michael playing the entire family at the dinner table for his movie The Nutty professor, The Klumps....
Ummm, no. Eddie Murphy playing every part at the table was comedy genius. And BTTF dinner scene was a lot of obvious hack jokes.
I thought at the beginning he said his name was David Letterman.
You're not the first to mistake me for the great and powerful Dave!
I loved Caroline in the City
Alright, we have to "rock on" with our universe and acting method keeping actress/director. Stay safe everyone!
lea, i loved you in red dawn!!!
I have to say Howard, the duck formatted film who is early Forensic work To make it a strange full film in the world 0:49
Her husbands a lucky man. She's delightful.!
That's an offensive statement to both of them.
She's charming.
I don't like how the interviewer corrects her take or opinions on Howard The Duck comics.
Yeah, she definitely didn’t like that. She obviously researched the part before taking on the role so certainly she knew all about the comics.
Howard the duck & Marty mcfly r good guitar player's

Really that is just her offers. Seriously? 3:51
LEA THOMPSON RIGHT ABOUT HOWARD THE DUCK ?
Loraine your my girl 🤩👍😁
My biggest regret is that Lea Thompson could’ve been much better as an actress and just playing flimsy rules in its sub genres. 0:02

What the heck...can you start with grammar before you talk down to a successful person?
She was there. You weren't. Case closed.
