How interesting Steve. Fantastic insight to how things were many years ago. No health and safety in those old days. Many thanks Steve.
Yes I loved it !!
Only one word for it steve"WOW"
Yes Tracy ..my words when I turned around the corner, and many more wow's when I got inside
You were like a kid in a candy store. :) Thanks for the tour. Beautiful ship.
Yessssss Loved it ! There was no space onboard to go to Barcelona cuz they 5ake 50 people to work as crew, I would have gone 👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was great, there must be a few sore heads, unless the crew is mostly small. Thanks for the tour.⚓⚓👍
Think they get used to it Narion
@@EnglishmaninMalta I think years ago people were alot smaller.
What an amazing ship and brilliant that you and us at home could share the experience, thanks.
My pleasure! I loved it
Fascinating to see the Gotheborg Steve. It’s reminds me of an old sail ship that we saw in Venice about 9 years ago. I bet it was impressive to see it sailing in and out of the Grand Harbour 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed it I was lucky to get onboard
Hi Steve that was an excellent video a very enjoyable watch. The wooden tall ship was amazing and I enjoyed you walking around the different parts of the boat. Thank you for making this video. The Valletta water front looks lovely.
Thanks 👍 Bobby
Very interesting Steve lovely ship loved to have had a poke around what a beautiful day 😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it David
Hello Steve Thank you for the tour Great felt i was there
You would have loved it !
That was awesome, what a beautiful ship, glad you decided to have a look over it and share it with us. They were certainly sailors in the old days.
Thankyou Steve it was lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it John
My wife and I saw it on Friday evening when we went to Senglea Point. It is a beautiful ship worth visiting. Our Grand Harbour Marina should be filled with such old historic galleons and old sea craft to go without history.
Yes I loved it and the tour was fantastic !
What a fascinating look around the ship amazing.
It really is! I was like a kid at Christmas
Am absolutely fascinated with ships especially the old wooden ones, so much caricature.. here in Liverpool we see a lot of fantastic new & old ships that dock here, giving us the chance to visit & board them.. i can’t remember ever having to pay to see them, we was welcomed open armed to view them.
My best memories was boarding a Canadian ship called HMCS Protector in the 1980’s when she visited Liverpool.. the crew provided us with a fantastic party on board in the evening.. with free drinks & food, I can remember the ceilings was draped with parachutes.. It was amazing !!
Then I was taken to see the crews sleeping quarters, then to the galley kitchen were all the cooking was prepared for the crew, very interesting indeed, then onto the officer’s mess room where they enjoyed time off.. yes 👍 it had loads of snacks and beers lol 😂 it’s a pity you was only able to view the minimum part of this amazing ship. X
Just to let you know why am so fascinated with ships, my grandad was a Sargent major in the army R.E.M.E ( Royal electrical and Mechanical engineering) .. he left the army after 25 years of service, he then went on to working in our museum in Liverpool, reviving all the beautiful models of ships, reviving all the old train carriages, and the old cars .
When I go to our museum in Liverpool am proud to say my grandad done this for all to see.
Luck you BUCKO I loved the tour..Wish we get more in Malta
Well worth 10 euro ..Dont mind paying for such great fun !!
I loved.loved,loved it ...wow.....What a treat for me !
Awesome tour . Well done x
Thank you x
👌 Tanks Steve😊 for showing us this wooden ship,🙏💝 it was interesting to see /💃but should't you be sailing to Bacelona lol..from Copenhagen DK 🇩🇰
I asked if there was space....Mary I would have been tempted
Hi Steve
What a pleasant way to spend the afternoon in such glorious weather !!!
The sailors on the original ship must have been very short or had extremely hard heads !!!
Most enjoyable
Regards
Peter
Glad you enjoyed it Peter ..I loved it !!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TALL SHIP ⛵ 🌊
The "Gotheborg" must have looked awsome coming into Grand Harbour In full sail! 😲. Steve if you thought that was low beamed you should see our replicas of "HMB ENDEAVOUR" 🇬🇧 and "DUYFKEN" 🇳🇱 - about 5 ft high floor to beam. . BOTH built here 🇦🇺 with the help of British shipwrights (of course). Love tall ships.
THANKS for the tour Steve ⛵ 🎥 👏.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
Glad you enjoyed it, Not sure was on camera, He said came in grand harbour without sails ...But still sorry couldn't make it ..was a salute from the ship and shore
Great video, very interesting 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Michael
Hi we are over staying in Bugibba from Cornwall, where I watch your vids at home. There are three of us in our party. I used to live in Malta as a child from 1963-66 and so it’s a very nostalgic place for me. I return periodically and have been surprised at the amount o f building and new roads and increased traffic. I lived in Sliema and then Birzzebuga, Pretty Bay way back then. Good to hear all that’s going on from yourself. Is the wooden ship still in Grand Harbour would you know? We are here until the 3rd Nov
Welcome back, no sorry Jane it left on the Tuesday after the video just here for a few days !! Shame it was awesome , but sure you will find many other things going on in Malta, have a great time x
Thankyou Englishman, by the way what’s your name, is it Steve? We had a Seahorse cruise around the islands and out for 7 hours. 3 hours at the Blue Lagoon. Owen our skipper was great as were the crew. Thoroughly recommend! Thanks again! 👍

There is another fully functional wooden 3 mast sailing ship, the Amerigo Vespucci a training ship of the Italian navy launched in 1931. It was in Malta last August.
Guess this is the biggest?
@@EnglishmaninMalta the Vespucci is around double the size, 100m long, 56 m tall and 16m wide
@@Cydonius1 No idea just repeating what was advertised
@@EnglishmaninMalta hehe its ok, they probably built it with Ikea furniture inside lol
@@EnglishmaninMalta
Ahoy Captain Steve ⚓ & Cydonius1. Steve, You're right, the "GOTHEBORG" is the largest "WOODEN" ocean replica in the world.
The Italian Navy training ship "AMERIGO VESPUCCI 🇮🇹" is "STEEL HULLED".
All beautiful ⛵ ⚓ ⛵ 🌊.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
