    The difference between Milwaukee 18 V and DeWalt 20 V tools is kind of a lie by DeWalt. They both have the same number of LiOn cells. Milwaukee uses the nominal voltage rating of the battery and DeWalt uses the max charged voltage.

    Its “hackable” any time you add to cart and it splits the total across the individual items. Make no mistake, this isn’t taking advantage of home depot. We are talking about a company worth hundreds of billions of dollars. They are not stupid, and it has become obvious they are using it to their advantage. Win-win in my personal opinion.

    • @CarlYota
      @CarlYota 26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think he meant he didn’t look into whether these kits had alternate product pages that are hackable obviously the pages shown aren’t hackable. It’s only the free gift versions that are. But HD usually has non hackable versions of thier hackable deals for some reason. Case in point, the m12 drill deal for 169 is hackable if you go to the right product page and choose the ratchet as the free gift.

    None of these deals compare to the HF Hercules deals you posted - got that $180 high torque long anvil torque wrench for $50 (with 2nd tool for $50 also) and also the two 8Ah 20V batteries for $100. That deal is still going on. Also got a Bauer 20V brushless cordless SDS+ rotary hammer for $30, and went to eBay to grab some Hercules-to-Bauer battery adapters (and a Hercules to Ridgid adapter also) so I can use those Hercules batteries with the lone Bauer tool. Currently in 4 battery ecosystems - Ridgid, Ryobi, Flex, and Hercules, don't need another!

    I have the ridgid line of battery powered nailers and I love them. I don't use them as much as I did the pneumatic because my work load is lower but they have performed great. As far as batteries I've transitioned over to the max output line. Far better than the standard batteries but not as good as the "Octane" line IMO.

    Great info, Bear. But even on sale, those prices are too high & seem to be aimed at pros rather than DIYers, like me. I mean, drive over to the nearest HD to grab an occasional use $280 impact wrench? I think a lot of us DIYers are willing to give up some quality on Amazon (though some are 4/12 stars with 0000's of reviews) to get a no-name for < $100.

  • @meagaindave2049

    I wasn't going to chime in on this until I saw the first Ryobi offer. That kit with the standard (not HP) 4ah and 2ah batteries with a charger is normally $99. Sure, during Ryobi Days it was 99 but WITH a free tool. Point being, it's $99 regularly while the HD website is showing it "marked down" from $203.94. There's no way, NO WAY that kit was ever that much! Which proves my theory that HD makes up ridiculous numbers before being "marked down" for a high percentage off. Cmon HD!

    The thieves and HD's piss poor remedy to it have made tool shopping near impossible, wait 20 mins for someone to come unlock the cage, pull the item(s), then wait in line while that person totes the tools to the checkout person, then wait for the one live person checking out to sort through the tools they have been brought for the ones you want, only to play the game with the door alarms because they didn't deactivate all of the anti-theft devices in the package. I understand they need to respond to thievery, but if the remedy turns a 5 minute run for X into close to an hour... it's just not worth it any more.

    Is it just me or is this really not much of a DeWalt sale? Everyone of those tools is usually about $250 as a complete tool/battery/charger combo. With normal batteries, of course. Feels like they added a Power Stack battery to the normal kits, left price alone and called it a sale lol

    The Milwaukee deals aren’t so great. I got better deals for bare tools off Amazon. You usually have to wait longer even with Prime, and they often cancel your order even though they claimed to have it in stock. As far as batteries, I can’t tell the difference between Milwaukee and 3rd party brands, so I only buy 3rd party now.

    So there's 74 comments here so hopefully you see this. This is with regards to your video one paid reviews. Back story. I bought a cheap pair of binoculars on Amazon a couple weeks ago. Today I got a post card in the mail from the seller asking me to give a 5 star review in return I would get a gift or be put on their "try this " list. How in the world did they get my mailing address?

      Some deals let you choose a free tool or battery when you buy a kit or tool. This gets priced on the receipt as two separate items. You can then return one and get a portion of the money back.
      For example the m12 drill and ratchet combo shown for 169 has an alternate product page where you buy the drill battery and charger kit for 169 and you get to pick a free tool. The ratchet is the most expensive so if you pick that the recipe will show the drill kit as $90 and the ratchet as 80. You can then return either the kit or the ratchet and get that money back if you only wanted one of them. This would be a great price for that drill kit for $90 when it’s normally $169. So do you want the ratchet or do you want to save $80?
      That’s what we call “hackable.” And sometimes they are packed together as a inseparable kit that shows as one item on the receipt / shopping cart. as the product page shown in this video. Those are not hackable.
