I credit Anthony Simcoe for making this ending into a very forceful emotional experience, cause his reaction and subsequent pure screams of unbelievable sadness is what gives the meaning of the ending true impact. Its pretty fun that in this finale of the fourth season, the eidolon pilot is (badly) voiced like he speaks way in the back of his throat... however, in Peacekeeper Wars, the eidolons sound completely human. ^^
Do you know who voiced him? Listen to the audio commentary! And he voiced it like it was directed. If he had done it with his normal voice, you would know who he was!
I was in the chat room when it was announced the show was going to be canceled. Everyone freaked... it was a madhouse. Months later this aired. Wow, were people mad at scifi on the savefarscape message board. I think I about screamed when Dargo did.
I remember back when this episode hit the airwaves. The internet collectively lost their minds and the fact it was known the show was cancelled created a huge firestorm of anger from all corners of the world. Thank goodness Peacekeeper Wars happened to (mostly) tie things up.
It was such a shock to see this at the time, especially when it ended the entire series... I'm grateful that the fans gathered together to muster up funding to finish it, albeit in only a two hour movie block, but it was worth it! I miss this show! It was the best Science Fiction series on TV and nothing else even comes close to it! I wish it would come back...🥰✌
Crap. I am a grown man and have seen this episode several times and each time I get choked up! Farscape was not a perfect show but no other show EVER made me feel like I do about these characters. This was a character-driven show and in that it succeeded brilliantly. I didn't agree with every choice and we can all find inconsistencies and flubs with the story, but the characters made up for it. And John/Aeryn have left a permanent impression in my life. It was one of the biggest TV blunders ever to cancel this show prematurely. While I hold out hope that a Farscape movie can still be made, I have mixed feelings about it. I dread that it will follow the comic story line. That would make me scream like D'Argo at the end of this episode (Nooooooooooo!!!!!!). Anyhow, Farscape re-watches are now a way of life. "Hold two- press 9-1-1 and release." Classic man! Classic!
It is great when you experienced it after the Peaceleaper Wars were available. I was a fan when the show aired, but it was on a lesser known channel 3 am in the morning in Germany and I had to give up on it midway season 2 because staying up to watch every Monday morning interfered with my job too much. And when I revisited it, I could get salvation immediately... but it would had me enraged otherwise.
I'm going to be honest... I never looked at this as a sad ending. The way Crichton and Aeryn reacted... it's like they knew after all of their wacky space adventures, conquering time, space, even death to find their way back to each other, that they'd be okay. For the other characters it's traumatic, sure. But these two go out with smiles and not even a series cancellation could convince me they weren't coming back to continue their story some way.
The most emotional, brutal, awesome and sad ending ever! This series is the best sci-fi show ever made! All the characters are unique, with different purpose, the universe is huge and complex. It is fun, smart, the make-up is great, battles, romances and interactions interesting and also the evolution of the characters is fascinating! Look at the idea: a band of various prisoners forced to survie many dangers in a living ship! I love the design, the song and the colors provided by Moya. ^^ Fortunately, a spin-off was made! ;)
I remember watching this episode on TV and Claudia Black telling the audience that the show was canceled. That was a heart break. Killing off the main characters then ending the show.
I wish someone had the original BBC footage, complete with the announcer saying something along the lines of 'despite the To Be Continued, that was in fact the last ever episode of Farscape'. I don't think I'd ever been so shocked into silence by an ending. Then angry. Then straight online to summon the troops.
uma das melhores séries ... até a 3a. temporada, depois dá pra abandonar e se não tivesse o piloto astronauta humano americano a série seria impecável.
"Let's land on the water planet to rest! It's uninhabited, no one will bother us!" -Crew of Moya "Yeah, but it's a season finale so....." -Farscape Writers
And (for a time at least) it was the _finale_ finale. I remember it. It hurt so much. We didn't even have the prospect of the miniseries. It was over like this.
If the show had continued into a 5th season and bypassed, I would have the John who died from radiation poisoning return. The aliens who had the knowledge of wormholes would bring him back because Scorpions had now mastered the technology through the dead Johns DNA.
The Peacekeeper Wars are a continuation of Farscape. All three, including the baby survive via rigel picking up every shard to reconstruct them in his mouth/stomach. Aeryn & John give birth to a baby boy. They name the baby Deke which is short for D'argo, after D'argo dies saving them in the next series.
And then they've turned the whole thing into a joke in Peacekeeper's Wars. I don't mean they should've stayed dead, but the Eidelons ended up being such a pathetic idea... a "get out of jail card" to wrap up the whole series in a 3-hour movie. Here the Eidelons were clearly meant to be an intimidating new antagonist, or a powerful ally to the Scarrans, what we got at the end was a joke.
When Aeryn tells John the baby is his, I knew that from the beginning. Well duh. Even if someone else was going to be the biological father that person is not there. John is so he is the physical father by default.
The thing I've never understood, I will never understand, is when Syfy canceled the show they didn't insist the episode end at the 3:50 point. It was a perfect ending. Instead it became a fuck you to their fans who stood by the show to end it like this. In my opinion, Farscape is the worst series finale of all time - fans were left numb and not in a good way. They killed off the two main characters ... the reaction shot ... fade to black. Yeah, I know they eventually agreed to make the peacekeeper wars but I don't care. They didn't respect their fans and I moved on. I've boycotted Syfy ever after... I've never watched the movie and I never will.
You're spare parts, bud. They were hoping another network would pick them up. If they'd tied it all up, that would have hardly contributed to keeping all of them employed.
I thought it was hilarious and ridiculous AF which was so very Farscape, but I watched it years later when I could watch the movie directly after without wondering if the story would ever be resolved. I recommend a rewatch so you can try to overwrite the lame memory. The movie was good but I wish it would have been a couple more seasons, of course
Man, D'Argo's scream hits hard, its been years since I last watched Farscape and I still remember this entire sequence.

Isn’t he the precursor from Jak and Daxter?

Thank the power of fans making it happen
@@biguy617they masterfully trolled everyone to where the fans demanded more to tie up the story. Was really smart of them to do that.

Please put this show back on the air. I love this show

There is a Farscape movie. it's called Peacekeeper Wars...
Rygel is pure gold 😂 have so much love for this series, glad it got a proper send off

Still crying in 2019 !

Just finished the show. Amazing.
D'argo out here with better acting than we've had recently
This was perfect lol. Sh!t never stops happening to them lol 😂

It's never explained where they got a frelling boat from...
The DRD's conjured a wormhole weapon in the space of an episode. I think they can make a boat happen. #SpaceWizardsDidIt

It said "to be continued" at the end of this episode. And the Peacekeeper Wars are to be continued still. I hope this will happen soon!

Perfect end to that relationship and the series..
Well I’m glad the movie was made, if it wasn’t than I could say this is the worst ending in any TV-show.

What a horrible ending

What a crap ending
