Tariffs in Mexico Has Paused For 1 Month In Exchange For 10 Thousand Mexican Troops To Mexico's Side Of Border To Combat The Flow Of Fentynal and Migrants. This is a drug war not a trade war.
And President Trump Has Talked To Canada once but will talk again at 3 pm today.

I believe you're missing the point of the threat of tariffs applied in this specific set of circumstances. Pure diplomatic pressure that Trump is unafraid to use.

One thing seems to be missing from your analysis Rosie: The threat of tariffs is for diplomatic leverage, at least in part. One stated reason for the Mexico tariffs, for example, is that the U.S. has received little or no cooperation from Mexico with regard to securing our southern border. Trump threatens 25% tariffs and what happens? Lo and behold, just like that, Mexico authorized 10,000 troops to patrol their side of the border. What was Trump's response? To pause the tariffs for a month. This is precisely the intended outcome in my opinion. I think some of the pearl-clutching over impending economic doom is premature at best. Let's see how it all plays out.

And if a BMW suddenly costs 5000 more, guess what? ----if BMW wants to continue selling them to us, they will lower their price by 5k ,or the car sits on the dock.
And by the way, DOGE just this week kept FOUR BILLION DOLLARS from leaking away.

Good points Rosie.. If no deal is reached, I look at the Canada situation as a 50 percent tax increase, 25 percent on each side, which essentially cancels out any “profit” from the tariffs on either side..

You're totally right Rosie. Depression is here and it looks like they all try to save themselves somehow. This thing of the tariffs is going to be very bad for the US as most of the goods are not produced inside the country but rather imported. People have to pay 25% plus on products imported from Mexico and Canada, 10% from those coming from China etc. These countries will retaliate and US export will feel the damage very soon. Many little entrepreneurs will bankrupt and many activities and stores will have to shut down. It's bad, mainly for the Western countries as China for sure won't be affected too much. ❤

I know little about economics on a global level, so I'll have to rely on common sense. If our president doesn't keep his family and friends (US citizens and our geo neighbors of North America) working in harmony and productivity with one another, chaos will continue. This country's debt has continued to grow under both party's administrations, however, we need to stop spending in excess of the revenues gained year after year. Our nation can't continue borrowing from foreign entities to help pay for the debt in this kind of global atmosphere. I'm fearful of what's coming next in terms of domestic and global strife. The "leader" of the free world is an ignorant, hateful, ego-fulfilling tyrant.
