Thank you for sharing the public with knowledge about tb , we are totally behind British farmers , we have no rival for the incredible way our British livestock are cared for loved by the farmers who work so hard to supply us with dairy /meat products . It’s disgusting how the ministry and government treat you keeping you in the dark shame on them 🙏🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👏👏🐄🐄🐄
As bad as it has been for your family and cattle, I'm glad you are talking about it. Not only to educate people outside of the industry about the highs and lows of dairy farming. But, just as importantly (or maybe even more so), to get it all off your chests and out in the open. Gone are the days when you cram it all down in as far as you can, only to blow a gasket (or much, much worse). None of us want to end up like that. Maybe the best that can come of farmers like you talking about these things is concrete solutions and actual movement on correcting the problems. As you so rightly said, nothing has improved on this matter in your lifetime. So maybe, just maybe, listening to the farmers who are actually doing the work every day, and seeing first-hand what is happening in the countryside, would be a great place to start. And, there's no need to apologize for how you feel. You've had a tough break. You obviously care about your cattle. All the best to your family.
Completely agree with your dad that government doesn’t want a uk agricultural industry! Such a terrible waste of good cattle. Keep going you are all doing a fantastic job.
Why is nobody backing you up and sorting this out. It’s about time these wild life do gooder are brought to account but they seem to think wild life is more important than families farming ,in our area we are struggling with flooding but yet the EA won’t dig out because of the wild life all this needs sorting out guick a lot of farmers will be gone.thank you for your videos and keep up the good work
@@stevemarks9360 what are you goung to eat when there are no farmers and no food. We will all have to go and hunt and eat the wildlife. I'm so sorry for you all. I subscribe to Karen Moynihan in Ireland and she is having the same problem. It's shocking that there seems to be no progress or development in the testing or vaccine. My heart goes out to you.
Thinking of u all at this sad and stressful time. The government don’t care about the cows and the farmers!! They care about the badgers and the butterflies more but there not going to feed the country. Keep ur chin up girls ❤
Congratulations on putting the real TB story out there,,,a great video of real trauma caused by pressure of farming today ...qe lost our entire herd march 2022 ,,everything and are just trying to rebild again now ,,,65 years of hard work gone in a day😢

Ladies, thanks for sharing your 'crap-days" as you say.. How you show the reality of farming is exemplary and should have a daily BBC update for the public. I'm crying with you from Hamburg😭😭😭
I can feel your pain, and destress. I was dairy farming in Ireland forty years ago, and it was the same then. My dairy herd was wiped out twice in three years, and it left me broken both financially, and in spirit. I thought I can't carry on living this way, so I sold up, and emigrated to Australia, and sadly never farmed again.
Yes and nothing done to help you out either breakdown and badgers left to continue the spread-but that's what the industry wanted and you an unfortunate victim. Same happen me,I pulled out too.
You are amazingly strong to be able to go thru something like this, But I have to wonder can you produce enough food for your dairy to not allow them to open. graze or is that an impossibility? I ask this because in New York an California the cows never leave the barns even Canada keeps their cows including their beef cows in corrals so with this method the animals will not come in contact with wildlife to get infected with TB. And also is there a way to eradicate the Badgers and raise the fences to a height that will prevent them the deer from mixing with your livestock? It saddens me to just now find out about this incredible problem. I wish all of you the very best in you endeavor to survive and win this terrible situation.
An amazing (for all the wrong reasons) video, I am so glad you made this - is there any chance of getting those in Govn/Power to watch it and realise how bad their policies are. One thing that did come over so well is the absolute love and care you have for the cows you have. I am also glad the valuation guys doesn't like doing it either. I think the tractor driver must have one of the saddest jobs in the world too.
Sorry you Folks had to go through that… We only get to see a little Glimpse of what you all go through on a daily basis! Totally understand your frustration! Stress level 💯 Thank you for sharing your experiences! ✌️🇨🇦🚜
Great video that highlights the plight of farmers that are in this position year after year. So sad but brave of the whole family to be involved and make a point. Keep going and make a difference x
Girls - a brave one - very moving - something we never suffered when we milked - our neighbours lost their herd twice in 12 years and tragedy went with that - I can remember my grandfather telling me he had a shorthorn in the 1940's that would let the badgers 'suck her dry' - something needs to be done to make this better and reduce the risk - conservation is not the same as preservation and culling is part of that - good job and thank you - can't have been easy
This is beyond unfortunate to experience these losses. Farming is more than a business. There are animals with feelings involved in day to day life for the farmers. 🐄
Gutted for you but thanks for sharing the reality. Your dad’s points are very valid - unfortunately those that can influence, don’t want to know. So frustrating!
Great video highlighting the TB problem. We need to keep buying our own products and supporting the uk or there will be no work/jobs in the future . Its sad we import so much stuff that should be produced here 👍
It is not only sad to have to import food ... It is dangerous! Look at the rationing of WW2. Food supply is vital to a country and the survival of its people.
Very sad to see this video, I feel your pain. We normally have about 1250 cattle on our farm but due to going down with TB in January our numbers peaked at nearly 1700 when we had to start selling (giving almost) our calves to an AFU. All these animals have had to be fed and cared for at huge financial and emotional cost. Fortunately we had our 2nd clear test in November and are now free for the next 6 months, who knows what will happen then. There are a lot more financial effects than you stated, even down to the cattle we are now selling coming into a different financial year. The whole thing is a disaster for British farming. Looking forward to a more upbeat video next time

I totally agree this process is unnecessarily traumatic for all involved. Another factor to mention is how the stress affects milk yield on those cows that do pass the blood test! If we can test the cows, why aren’t we testing the badgers? And then dealing with the problem at the root. What these wildlife do gooders fail to realise is that we don’t eat the wildlife and they don’t produce anything (other than TB) yet they are protected and farmers are prosecuted for trying to clear their land. On the other hand, animals that are producers or products of the food chain are repeatedly exposed and then culled when they test positive. How is a cow’s life less valuable than say a badgers?! The deck is stacked against the farmer. Always has been, always will be!

Well done for all your videos, you do an amazing job. I Know exactly what you're going through, even if you wanted to, you can't throw in the towel. A couple of questions: After slaughter of the animals are you informed as to whether any of the cows were in fact clear. I understand that this often happened in the pre -blood test days. It was very disturbing to see so many young animals go, and that 6 year "old" looked like a real good cow. Is there any foundation in the argument that Maize is ideal food for badgers and extends their feeding/ breeding season and numbers to the detriment of cattle by providing more vectors for the disease. Finally I understand that you will be tied up with cattle movement restrictions which could be in place for a long time. Is this correct.? Thanks. I suspect that many of us out here wanted to give you all a hug; life is hard sometimes.
Bloody hard to watch but as I say from one 3x dairy farmer to u fab ladies TB is so hard to see 27 beautiful cows leave the farm I don't understand why dairy cows are not vacc for this horrible disease yes mainly because of badgers they either should be vaccination for them I do feel for u I was in this situation 17 years ago we lost 40 cows 30 in calf heifers never again I said but thank God our last herd remains free from TB sending u love and hoping your other cows do OK give them speak girls a love from me ❤
I think one needs to drill down and look at the bigger picture in politics and British industry in general. My beliefs go along these lines. The British Government seem incapable of supporting any industry. They seem to think it is better to bring in foreign goods and firms Eg Russian gas Chinese electricity Indian steel. I believe , indeed know that they believe the British stock/money markets is where it is at and any other form of activity is superfluous to their master plan. Rubbish is transported by ships to third world countries and dumped and forgotten. Problems in the Ag industry is forgotten/ignored. Yes money markets are important BUT we should be doing more to keep our resources within the country where we as a nation have control. The Government of whatever colour Labour or Tory etc need to start thinking about its own indigenous peoples, land etc and getting control we are sleep walking into the abyss. Love your blogs and family and thought you were although justifiably angry spoke with passion, sense and dignity. God bless and wishing you and the farm best fortune into the future.
I feel sorry for what you and your family are going through. I agree completely with your father, the disease has been around way too long for them to of not found a cure or a vaccine. If the same happened to humans they would come up with a vaccine in a few months ( like the supposed Covid vaccine) Lets hope the exposure TB is getting through youtube and other social media helps push the government to do something.
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Albert Einstein It's the same here in Ireland. Current TB eradication programmes are going nowhere.
It is extremely upsetting, what a waste of time when the root cause is not addressed. This has been going on since the 1950's.....and nothing has changed.
Mum and Dad are well pissed off and rightly so 👿 The whole system is broken in this country and the people in charge don't seem to care. I'd normally say ''chin up and move on'' but this is a massive financial loss to any business. ☹
Is it accurate that TB is gotten from infected wild animals, and the cows would have had to share water with the wild animal? Jeremy Clarkson had TB issues; in his case, it was the shared water source with badgers in the area. However, badgers are protected and can not be culled unless they die of natural causes.
The ministry seriously need to look atbwhatbtheybare doing and if theybreally want to irradicate tb they need to properly compensate farmers for all the lost value and income and do something about dealing with some of the wildlife carrying tb
What a tragedy, people after theire desks are the worst sometimes. I don't think they know what farmers feel when cows have te leave the farm. The financial aspect of it not included... I hope you have a lot of twin heifer calves in the future and maybe, if it's a solution...zero grazing.
Hard to watch. Poor girls. Hopefully all the development work to validate the new tests will allow a vaccination role out in the next couple of years and this heart wrenching situation will be a thing of the past.
How many of your cows in first load were confirmed as reactors by meat factory vet. In Ireland where im from 2 out of 3 nationally for decades are declared Tb free when it is too late.In Scotland they blood tested the national herd and are now Tb free. I dont know if they culled or vaccinated any wildlife. There is also the issue re actual reactors in meat factories and where that beef ends up in the food chain. It also appears that no country is attempting to trace the actual TB animals back through their breeding. A big number of both herds is coming from relatively few bulls via Ai and a few of these bulls could be doing big damage.
You've done amazing. You've all brought it to our attention. But the government won't carry on doing anything about. It is so destroying I my heart believes for your family. I was informing, but in a lot smaller than you are and it eat. It just destroys you daily keep going girls. I do love watching your programme, your videos. But it is terrible
At this point you would think our governments/veterinarians would find some way to combat this Tb... Our Tb in humans has a vaccine... I struggle to know that farmers and animals have to go through this.... 😢❤ My heart goes out to you, your family and farm...
So sorry to hear your tale of dealing with TB reacters. I don't think that the addle brained idiots running the country have any idea of the impact of TB on farmers. They will say that badgers don't spread TB but it is a fact that since badgers were designated as an endangered species that TB has steadily increased. I have friends living just up the road from you in Llandewi Velfrey who not only have a bypass being built on their land but have had 4 acres extra taken to set aside for badgers. It beggars belief that these civil servants can be so stupid
in humans TB is treated with Isoniazid Rifampin & ethambutol & drugs does eliminate effectively Mycobacterium tuberculi but in cattle i have to get knowledge # 🇵🇰
Its not fair that you dont get your milk production values not on the valuation and everybody knows a milk cows life is alot longer than beef a 6yr old cow is just starting to hit her peak

The ministry seriously need to look atbwhatbtheybare doing and if theybreally want to irradicate tb they need to properly compensate farmers for all the lost value and income and do something about dealing with some of the wildlife carrying tb
Is this the first year of tb testing or is this every year you lose this many cows
This is so sad. Bloody badgers. I’m so sorry.
exactly same here in ireland ,, only way is to quietly do away with any badgers or deer on your land and say nothing ,,
What a tragedy, people after theire desks are the worst sometimes. I don't think they know what farmers feel when cows have te leave the farm. The financial aspect of it not included... I hope you have a lot of twin heifer calves in the future and maybe, if it's a solution...zero grazing.
So sad, but like you said, they won't be happy until we're importing everything 😢
Hard to watch. Poor girls. Hopefully all the development work to validate the new tests will allow a vaccination role out in the next couple of years and this heart wrenching situation will be a thing of the past.
Good video girls
So sad
It’s a wild life problem something has to be done or it will just continue for years more.
Are you suggesting getting rid of all wildlife ?
@@sarahann530 Yes, getting rid of all wildlife is the obvious interpretation of @jameswilson9142 comment. Grow up.
The Welsh government has wasted 10 years messing around
We desperately need a new government in Wales
Bardzo fajne i pracowite dziewczyny. Pozdrawiam serdecznie
Add Urdu language in the caption of the video. Please please from pakistan please❤❤❤❤
I just don't know what to say. 😥
Very sad watched Karen’s video also same situation over there in Ireland.
in humans TB is treated with Isoniazid Rifampin & ethambutol & drugs does eliminate effectively Mycobacterium tuberculi but in cattle i have to get knowledge # 🇵🇰
Its not fair that you dont get your milk production values not on the valuation and everybody knows a milk cows life is alot longer than beef a 6yr old cow is just starting to hit her peak
In this case ignorance is bliss.
Sorry, Heartbreaking. Never considered it fair that you are always given only market price.
Culling badgers don’t work either. What about vaccinating badgers?
Bet you still get paid the same
