    LoL 😂 are you implying of Josh at J and H as one of those who just review new reels just to sale and had not actually used it before reviewing? Hmmm you got a point there Capt. Nap!

    I had the torque 30 star drag, phenomenal reels!! I wish I never sold it, now I have to buy a new one!

    So I use a reel based on the line test AND if I’m fishing jigs or bait or both. The size of the fish caught is irrelevant. I’ve caught plenty of 200+ lb yellowfin on 60lb. Caught 2 90lb yellowfin one with a Penn 501 and 30lb and 1 with a Newel 500 or whatever and both reels blew up and we had to handline them in the rest of the way.
    What were you fishing on the 40 and what on the 30?
    On the sunset feature I would think it’s so you could break it off the bottom or when you get sharked and want to point your stick at ‘em and break ‘em off.

    My lad , after 2 hours landed a 9foot bronze whaler on 15kg line
    On a torque 40 ld 2 speed , I swear I heard the reel laughing at how relaxed it did it !!!!!

    ....and actual or real world used make sense and an objective review...here you mentioned of using the sunset while the other reviewer who did not put mileage on the reel said No as it will break the reel or lead ro something catastrophic...🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

      Just think of "Sunset" as "Extra Full", but there was not enough room on the arc for it, so PENN substituted the same word used by Zane Grey on his custom big game reels back in the day, and [interestingly], the same word used by Shimano on their reels sold in the Southern Hemisphere [SA/Aus/NZ].

    Do the torque have thrust bearing like the fathom?

    • @fadelover123
      @fadelover123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The torque is essentially a fathom on steroids. Stronger frame, better Anodizing, better drag design and much stronger gears. I love my Torques, more than Talicas.

    Whats sunset?

    • @tunanorth
      @tunanorth 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Sunset" is essentially "Extra Full", which did not sound quite right, and would not fit in the small space allowed on the reel. It is also the term used instead of "Full" on Zane Grey's historic custom-made big game reels from back in the day.

    I don’t see how free spool can be that good with three years of heavy use with no service.
