God loves varieties so he made us all of us different, it really amazing, I'm a Ghanaian and i live in Dublin Ireland, but even here in Ireland, the people who live in Dublin, has entirely different accent from those who live in cork but it the same country and the same people, just like Accra and Kumasi. We need to walk in love and embrace our differences. The white don't have same accent either.
That’s awesome because what makes us different from the other makes us unique 😊 Ghana and Nigeria are secret lovers of themselves but only makes noise in public 😂🤭 we all know this #LetLoveLead Meanwhile welcome to my channel ☺️🥂
@@bluebeatricearchibong Well said! The truth is: Ghanaians love the courageous and the bold nature of Nigerians and you hear a couple of Ghanaian preachers referencing that in their sermons. And I am also learning from different you-tube channels that Nigerians admire Ghanaians on several fronts. So, you aren't far from the truth! The two countries are secret admirers of each other!
Nigerians are so adamant even though the dictionary will disappoint most of their pronunciations. I'm Kenyan n Nigerians say our accent is like the Ghanaians'. Funny, cz all along Kenyans believe Nigerians speak like Ghanaians( u know that whole peculiar west African accent). I could identify with many of the Ghanaian pronunciations which are same as ours- purse, husband, bus, introduction, nurse, doctor, up, journey, money. Anyways it's no doubt Nigerians love "o" Just like sharkboy says.
Well I feel there’s an influence from 🇳🇬mother’s tongue since the Nigerians were colonized by the British but through indirect rule like I mentioned in the video… Meanwhile the Ghanaians over stress their phonetics🤧
@@bluebeatricearchibong Yes it's generally mother tongue influence which is felt across all countries ie. Even Kenyans pronounce some words uniquely that other countries wonder like the Ugandans are mostly shocked at us as we are with them, south African pronunciation sounds strange to us too😆 . I believe it's a blessing cz we are each able to have our "original" English that we speak however way we wish and are not compelled to copy our colonizers- we now own this language our way( I'm so happy about African words n slangs now added in the dictionary). We can thus identify each other by how we speak. Not only English, all other European languages are spoken uniquely in former colonies. Anyways, if I'm not wrong, both direct n indirect rule was used in Nigeria- direct in the North n indirect in the south. Therefore, I believe the issue at hand may be the fact that the British didn't have settlements in Nigeria like they did in Kenya, Zimbabwe, S.A etc. thus y'all pronunciations veered to be more African/ Nigerian a bit too much compared to others. Interestingly, if u watch old Nigerian history clips capturing your founding fathers you'll hear them speak quite different from how u do now- they speak almost like the queen's English. All in all our diversities, peculiarities are what make us who we are and we should embrace all of it! Peace ✌️
True, the overstressing of phonetics is more inclined to a more British pronunciation, if u don't stress then it's African.eg. Pastor= pastoh with Nigerians then Pastah with Kenyans / Ghanaians. "Or" in British English is pronounced "ah". You can check that on an audio dictionary to see.
th-cam.com/video/drmfQQMonE8/w-d-xo.html listen to how Gowon speaks an accurate Queen's English and to how Ojukwu pronounces country as "kantri" which today Nigerians pronounce as "kontri" th-cam.com/video/rfHzgND_7Js/w-d-xo.html
You can see the difference between the older generation of the Nigerians of the 70s and the ones of today. I thought he was a Ghanaian until I saw the name
@@bluebeatricearchibong I have use google to check some Ghana pronunciation it still doesn’t sound British instead I will advise you to watch British movie and see that Ghana accent is not close to British but Nigeria.
