Very interested to see how that skid works in a sidehill. The skidoo t-motion seems to lose it's edge in a sidehill. The Alpha seems to be based on a similar idea. Time will tell. You should get one......do it...do it.
That mono rail is pretty epic but i still prefer the wedge shape on the front of my Poo, that one seems a tad fat on the front kinda like my old nytro back in the day. Very nice ride though the color scheme is sweet
So when Polaris and BRP come out with their versions of a mono rail skid are they going to say it's they're own revolutionary design? This could be a big deal..... Just like Cats industry leading AWS (A arm wish bone front suspension in the 90's)…. of course that has been copied time and time again. I hope Cat - Textron has patented this.
So what if it's junk? do they then reap all the rewards too? let me guess your Ford is better than any Chevy ? Grow up - its called real world stuff, someone will copy and probably improve on it. and so on
A new standard for mountain industry? Unless they figured out a way to keep an edge with a monorail and not washout then I can't imagine this thing sidehilling anything but a loose wet noodle.
I think it's unfair to make a judgment on it yet. It hasn't even seen snow for the general public yet. I say we give it some time and see how it handles.
@@syxxes lol, It's unfair to judge but not unfair to speculate at all. Monorail isn't new. Look at their promo videos. They're all just donuts or jumps. I'd love to see a video of them in the steep trees
The XFs come on the Ascender PLATFORM. I say "platform" cause the proclimb and ascender chassis them-self is actually almost the same. Everything around it is build differently though. And its actually a really smart move by AC to save money but have a complete new platform, that handles complete different.
Why can you get 2014-2015s for 4500-5000$ then? Did they only retail for 6000 new? I'm talking about M8000's. Just found a 2016 M8000 141" for 5000$ with 156 miles on it actuially. Can't tell me that's terrible resale, lmao.
That's hilarious. Can't wait to see these on the market in 2 years for 4-5k. And a 141 is useless? What world are you from? 14X sized tracks are the most popular sizes sold. Ever. You realize 10 year old skidoo's have higher resale than 2-3 year old Arctic Cats? Lmao.
Talk to a guy at haydays and he thought cat went overboard with it. He rode them last season and he said the sled washed out on him , because there is to much flex. He might be right. can you have to much of a good thing ? I suspect maybe ski-doo didn't go more with a flexible suspension like cat did. You have to know that ski-doo did a lot of of research on this flexible suspension. Time will tell if this works in the mtns.
Alpha One and Ski-Doo T-motion are a totally different concept. The Alpha One is a rigid skid frame throughout. Think of a single shock on a motorcycle swing arm, only the track deflects from horizontal. (Example: A Ninja motorcycle cornering, rigid frame/swingarm using the side of tires for cornering). The Ski-Doo T-motion is not rigid, it pivots. (Example: Pinch a drive belt in the middle and wiggle it.) The track is still parallel with the skidframe.
I think a lot of people are gonna hate on it because it is such a large step for the snowmobile industry as far as suspension. I think it's really easy to hate on it. And to be honest I'm not totally convinced yet either. But, I'm not ready to take someone else's word on it who likely was only on it for a short time. I'll decide for myself. But you are right! Time will tell!
@@deansikorski6596 yes you are right Dean , but the concept is the same. Make it work better side hilling or turning in deep snow better. It is pretty neat engineering.
The problem here is all the people that ordered this sled will be screwed when they come out with an 850 or 900 motor with this skid in 2020! Including myself!
Well, this is true that "No matter what year you buy a sled, you should have waited a year". You'll be good on this motor for awhile! So no worries there!
At this point I would love to say something positive about Polaris, cause I like different things about all the brands...! But it's a struggle, cause... this comment is actually true.
They must not of fixed the belt blowing problem if the put a temp gauge in there cause my pos 2015 blew 7 belts in 500 miles now i ride polaris was a cat guy my whole life super happy i switched cat garbage
It will be stuck all the time...Powder will SWALLOW that turd..... looks like a groom-trail flat-lander machine. Definitely NO good for Ski Patrol work or pulling a recoverery sled. Nice toy..... Not for the Pros.
Gotta admit, that cat looks sick
Pretty sharp machine, thats for sure!
Best views iv seen on this machine so far..the fit and finish looks amazing. Bravo AC
Gonna be an interesting ride! She's tippy!
@@syxxes looks like shes guna send nicely for ya

I ain't saying one way or another yet!
I went with c motion 😉
great video, no bullshit.
Just killer!!!!!!

Do you happen to know if the rail can be powder coated? Or find out and post in a later video?
I'm pretty sure it's made out of aluminum, so yes, it can be powder coated. It will have to be stripped down fully though.
I'm more worried about the bonding/ glue. I'm tried to contact Cat but no one will give me an answer.
I think it already is powder coated...

This is a patented design. Arctic Cat are the only ones that are going to be able to do the mono skid
Syxxes Performance And so they should. Work well done... so they should reap the rewards!
Or the slide rail of late 60's thru70's AC 1st
So what if it's junk? do they then reap all the rewards too? let me guess your Ford is better than any Chevy ? Grow up - its called real world stuff, someone will copy and probably improve on it. and so on
please tell me you are getting an alpha one for this upcoming season
No comment as of yet!
Thanks for the info
This will set a new standard for the mountain industry. Very nice job ac.
Looks amazing.
Gonna be very interesting to see how they ride, that's for sure.

It's a cool sled. Gonna handle like nothing else.

I don't live anywhere near a mountain, but damn I still appreciate some good engineering.
I thought it was cool at first, then I got to see it in person: "Okay. This is realllly cool"
Beautiful looking sled, only if I lived closer to the mountains. Are the XF's on the ascender chassis or are only the M's?

What's the dry weight on that thing?
Farming 4G 444 lbs
201KG
I have a scale that I will hook this thing up to in a video soon. Then will know for sure!
How does it know belt temp?
Nick Mieloszyk I'd guess infrared perhaps?
Farming 4G that's my guess, but I'd love to see it!
And how can we retrofit it on older models :-D
I have to look into this more, cause the embarrassing truth right now, is that I don't know the answer to that!
Will be very interested to see the real world performance and longevity of these machines.
It's different! Just have to see how well it holds up now!
Do you guys take kidneys for trade .
Money or organs. Come on down!
Just wait a year and the resale will be less then half of retail. Cats lose value like you wouldn't believe.
Klas Eriksson yeah he sells cats all the time !he supports shit made over seas and company’s that spend there money all on marketing 👍

This is killing me,mine hasn't arrived yet
They are -just- starting to land. The Alpha's were the last productions
Just got the call that mine came in and needed to schedule when to put it together
Schwing!

I must ask. Which one of you work at a cat dealer?
Ralph's Motorsports!
Do all three of you work there?
Nope. Just me.(Matt) I am a tech there.

Ohhhhhh helllll no how is that possible
looks pretty cool.. but then again for the price they are asking these days it better be fucking amazing.. losing 12k in 4 years on value seems harsh
Trade a kidney!
Arctic cat, the reason Polaris guys needs turbos

Anyone wondering what happened to this dudes duramax
Sold'er. Didn't wanna pay for it no-moe.
Dont blame ya diesels are expensive
I loved it. But I just looked at it one day, and said "It's not worth it."
ya fun while it lasted though 👍👍👌🏻was a minty truck.
anyone else thinks this looks like evangelion Unit - 1
Only $47,534.99 plus tax !!!

Glad you're happy on your Polaris!
my 15 has never had a belt issue... sure yours was set up properly?
I never blew a belt on my 15 not to mention the switched clutches completely in 16 soooo
Belt issue has been fixed since at least '14. if you had that much issue then the problem was something with your sled alone.
I wish I had the credit 2 get 1
Gonna be exciting to see how they handle in different snow packs.
I dont like the placement of the rear shock, feels like it can be crushed pretty easy.

Glenn Stone so in other words, you can’t afford one....😂😂😂
Greenid Guy lol
Arctic scrap. They will never change.
That thing is ugly, looks like something from en early 90s.
Obsoletefreedom yes because snowmobiles looked like this in the 90's....
