    A little history and back story on HP boots. They are a sister company of Anderson Bean. They were started to compete with all the companies that were essentially knocking off the styling AB is known for but at a cheaper price point. HP is made in Mexico but by a factory owned by AB so they have total control. Unlike many boot companies that use factories in Leon Mexico to make their boots for them and put their name on them. HP brings the AB styling and quality at a cheaper price point to their AB and Rios brands. HP essentially was created to help combat the other companies beating AB with their unique styling but at cheaper price points. AB started or renewed a lot of the trends you see today from the double welts, vibrant contrasting colors, etc.

    Interesting enough I just got a pair of Anderson Bean (makers of Horsepower boots) mine are smooth ostrich with emerald green tops and from their made in USA line! I love them! They just say quality from the first look! I agree with everything you said about the Horsepower boot as it applies to my boots! I own Tecovas, Lucchese, Tony Lama, Justin, all various exotics, and these Anderson Beans are built as well or better and feel great! More people need to look at Anderson Bean and Horsepower as an option! Value and quality for the money is phenomenal! Glad to see your review! I'm new and just bought my first 3 pairs. I'm still trying out. I got 2 double H, one is the darker reddish bison, the other is the lighter tan with white stitching and the 3rd is a Tony lama smooth ostrich lighter but is a little rough leather. Lol so I'm not sure how that is considered smooth ostrich. The Tony lama feel great right out of the gate, lighter if course. All American made. I'd love HP but to stay with US based boots price goes up alot.

It gives more options for use outdoors than all leather in my opinion. One thing...would you have sized down when wearing without the insole? Yep! ABs aren't the only brand to have hybrid soles though. The insoles in the HPs are a bit different too and the exotics have a stacked leather heel, ABs are a bit more traditional inside with a hard leather insole under their removable insole and they have a bonded leather heel.

      A regular cowhide boot with a hybrid outsole would be perfect. I remember wearing my leather sole boots in school and college and I had to get them resoled often because walking on asphalt and cement sidewalks wears down a leather sole fast. If I were to do it again I would try to have a hybrid outsole. Horse power has some budget cowhide options and Justin has an inexpensive option with their George Straight black boot with a hybrid outsole

      You cannot get a quality boot for less than $100. If a boot is regularly priced for less than $100 it means they don't use the high quality materials necessary for a true cowboy boot and they definitely aren't hand made. Maybe hand crafted but that's completely different. Hand made means that nearly every step is done by a person using their hands and that costs money. So they are lying. Hey man
    Question
    I have talked to you a time or two about sizes
    You and I both. Seem to run a 12 B
    Stinking foot is too narrow with that 12 shoe size
    It can be aggravating
    I went with the Luchesse Burke Giant gator boots in A 11 D to make up for width, in those They seem to be fine
    Still not broke in yet on left foot but fine
    I noticed these you tried on are a 10.5 D
    Do you normally go down that small on the wide square toe boots like that
    I have a few pair of Anderson beans Full quills in a 11.5 D
    Always thought they were ok in size a bit looser now after wearing a year or so but ok
    And I’m starting to think I went to large in those too if you are doing a 10.5 in those or 11 D
    I never tried on a 11 D in that style or a 10.5 D
    Either
    If the people in the store wools have been knowledgable enough to say Oh…. You have a skinny foot but wear a 12 shoe
    Then you should do a 11 D or maybe even a 10.5 D
    I wouldn’t have 1000$ worth of boots that are a little to wide right now ..
    Kinda of tired of not knowing for sure, glad I found you on here having a size close to me or similar that knows
    I’m starting to think length doesn’t mean much at all when your trying to get close to that B or C width
    Any insight to share on this greatly appreciated
    The boot stores have no clue most don’t
    Just sell boots
    It’s sad .

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Width is more important for sure but it would be nice for companies and stores to put more B widths out there. I will often have to go to a 10.5 D in a wide square toe because 11D is too wide with all the space in the toe box. That's part of the reason wide square toe is offered by so many brands is because it's easier to fit people and make less widths.

    • @HunterErwinMusic
      @HunterErwinMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeremiahCraig
      Yeah that’s what I thought with the wide toe it will give more room .
      I guess I will have to try a 10.5 or 11 in the square toe
      Which brand do you find to run the most narrow ? Do you find a 11 works in some vs a 10.5
