FACTOR 75 meal subscription canceled| What happened?

  • Soooo, let's catch up! It has been just under a month since I posted my first Factor video and explained why I chose to subscribe to it for restarting Keto. It has been 2 and a half weeks since I posted a 2 week follow up and complete review of Factor Keto meals. I will link both of those videos in the cards if you haven't seen them yet.
    First before we get any further, I am not sponsored by Factor 75. The opinions expressed are my own. Further more, they are not meant to be medical advice. Again, opinions expressed are my own.
    Alright here we go! Deep breath, I canceled my Factor subscription. Hear me out. Today's video was supposed to be eating factor meals for a week lunch and dinner. I had even started taping the video. However, I started experiencing symptoms of no longer being in ketosis. Like, cravings, headaches, and weight loss stalling. Twice daily, I have been monitoring my glucose and ketone levels using my Keto Mojo blood meter. I began to notice that my sugar was creeping higher and my ketones were trending lower. This came to a point where I was no longer in a state of ketosis.
    I will be doing a Keto progress video soon so don't forget to hit the red subscribe button and bell icon so that you will be alerted when I post more videos like this!
    So here I am out of ketosis and wondering what went wrong. I immediately began to track my food intake using the carb manager app. I very quickly noticed that every Factor meal was being labled to avoid. Ummm what! I began to look closely at the nutrition facts on the back of several different meals. Net carbs were ranging between 9-14 per meal. Now, for me, I have found that I feel the best and continue losing weight is for me to stay under 15 net carbs per day. So I found the potential culprit. I noticed that when I would eat three meals a day with Factor for lunch, I was hitting around 25-30 net carbs per day. No wonder my weight loss had stalled and I fell out of ketosis!
    Now, if this is your first time trying the Ketogenic lifestyle, I think Factor is a great option for transitioning. But, keep in mind, the list of ingredients is long, the meals are decent in size but for the amount of carbs compared to the protein and fats, it often leaves me hungry.
    One of my concerns also is that the nutrition on the back is for the entire meal. I often choose to not eat the side dish to help save on carbs. However, doing that means I am guessing the macros of what I ate.
    Cost. I used a code and saved $130 across the first 4 boxes. In my first box, one meal's tray was broken. I reached out and they were unable to replace the meal which was fine but all they were able to offer is a free meal in my first non discounted box. Which I find frustrating. I ended up canceling my subscription prior to a non discounted box and therefore, lost money. Also, the most cost effective plan is to purchase the 18 meals per week which makes each meal $11 prior to the discount. Now, with my husband taking them everyday for lunch, me eating them on average 3 days per week, that still leaves 10 meals we need to eat every week prior to the next shipment and expiration dates. I like the convenience of them, but I want the freedom to also make a taco bowl if I want, or chicken wings, or alfredo at home. We were constantly forcing ourselves to choose a Factor meal for dinner just to keep up and not waste food.
    The final verdict. Overall, Factor meals are delicious! They were really helpful in our transition back to keto. They may even work for your individual needs. However, I think there are some things Factor could improve on. And unfortunately for my husband and I, they do not meet our current dietary needs.
    Have you tried Factor 75 meals? Is there something I am missing? Do you have any questions? Let me know down in the comments and I will do my best to answer them.
    Thanks for watching today's video! I hope to see you Friday! Bye!

    Thanks for the great, unbiased review, especially regarding the keto quality of them vs how the meal leaves you feeling (lower fat/protein content). Was the food good, at least? We've got family 2,000 miles away who need a short term meal assistance due to medical issues, and since we can't be there to cook and bring them food, I thought this might be a relatively healthy, relatively tasty option to fill that need. Hope your journey has continued well and thanks for making this video!

    Thanks for the honest review! I just ordered 18 meals and will be freezing some.
    My plan is to drink an Atkins protein shake in the morning(about 2g carbs), two eggs and possibly a side of meat for lunch (0g carbs) and the Factor meal at dinner. That should be around 15g of carbs and less per day, varying.
    I'm excited to try these because nothing else is working and I have a problem with portion size so I think these meals should help me. We shall see!

    I’m currently using factor and going on my 10th box. I have lost almost 30 pounds in that time with just the calorie smart meals. Unfortunately with a heart condition not everybody can do keto so their calorie options are amazing. Keto is actually bad for your heart. So I myself enjoy the factor program.

    I watch carbs because I had gestational diabetes and am at risk for type 2. That being said, I’ve been able to completely control it with my diet, specifically my carbs. I plan on trying this meal plan, especially since me eating “low carb” is really around 45 carbs or less in a day, usually in a meal will keep my risks at bay. Hopefully you find something that works better for your specific needs ❤️

    I’ve been doing intermittent fasting as well as the OMAD diet, which is one meal a day and it was hard doing this diet and training my body and I had to increase with a multivitamin calcium as well as a egg collagen/vegan protein powder drink for breakfast, but I have my one Factor 75 meal no later than 4 o’clock and I don’t eat anything else for the rest of the day doing this and going to the gym. I have brought my A1c levels down, and I have brought my diabetes in remission, what I mean by that is I am no longer a type two diabetic I am prediabetic I have been took off of my medication. I have lost weight a lot which gave me enough energy to start going to the gym. I am now going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I am losing weight getting healthy and the meals are delicious. I don’t purchase a meal from factor on a weekly basis lol I skipped meals but that’s because I order the max amount which is 28 meals and then maybe the other three or four days of the month I cook and with those 28 factor meals I eat one of those meals a day with a protein smoothie in the morning for breakfast I love it and I’ve never had any type of surgery as far as Gastric bypass surgery but when I decided that I was going to go on this health journey and eat less than 800 cal I said damn people who get their stomach cut in half after having gastric bypass surgery they have to take multivitamins because they don’t get enough nutrition although me eating my one meal and my healthy smoothie is enough nutrition. I was scared since I wasn’t eating that many calories since I decided to start doing the one meal a day, so I started taking vitamins to counteract if I was doing something wrong even though I was not, I have took a step back on the vitamins. My body is getting used to this routine and my body is burning calories due to the inner minute fasting of just having the one meal a day and having it at a set time, I am so proud of my success. The factor 75 meals are good lol the only issue is I have to eat them in private because when I do finally eat one I look crazy as if I hadn’t ate in many days I don’t know is it that good or is it because I only have one bill a day but ever since my first taste, I’ve never gone back don’t get me wrong I do have a snack but you can’t really count a fruit salad mixed up with leafy greens and nuts and meal. I literally just have one meal a day and that’s the Factor 75 outside of my healthy smoothie for breakfast and my snack at six but factor is that shit

    Hi Megan, I just saw this video. I saw the first one and missed this one. I find Factor works and I am almost at my ideal weight but can't lose that last 5 pounds down to 95 from 99!!! But I finally am by using Factor correctly. I find that if I eat one F_ meal and then maybe eat using my own decisions, it doesn't work and I am in effect losing that money. Like if I decide to eat a big salad, for example. Because actually veggies are carbs although lower than things like rice, bread, etc. But I believe it throws off the formula of the Keto efforts made by F_. I started eating only one F_ meal a day and then trying to do my own idea of Keto but it was never high fat, that was the problem -- and it didn't work. When I started to eat ONLY F_ meals and for me that was 2 day, it was working like a miracle and I couldn't believe my eyes looking at my scale after I ate this decadent rich meat and cream sauce. I personally usually don't eat the side dish veggies because their zucchini is so bad, for example and most of their veggies unless they are plain steamed and then I do eat them with the butter. So I don't eat the side dish. But I would suggest that you might try it again but don't eat three lunches per week as you said, do every day and if you need to, eat three keto meals of theirs a day and just try it and see what happens. Because as I said, I found it worked. The ONLY other things that ever worked for me is just cold turkey almost fasting. And to think I can eat these creamy sauces with meat twice a day and lose weight DRAMATICALLY, is unbelievable to me. I saw you had a tortilla on your plate with one of the meals. That is the problem, I think. You have to stop that at least while you are using F_. I think that just thwarts your progress and you will, like you said, lose money because it isn't working even though it tastes good. And although 2 meals a day is enough for me at my size (just under 5" tall), you might need three. But don't eat anything but the meals. You can space them so when you are hungry you eat another one, not a salad and definitely not a tortilla but another keto meal. I actually feel stuffed after eating them and think I am going to see weight gain on the scale tomorrow morning for sure, but as long as I don't eat anything but the keto F_ meals, I have weight loss the very next day or some days it is the same for a day or so but then it does down. When I changed to JUST the F_ meals is when I DID have the dramatic effects. Because you can see the efforts they put in with always using alternative sugar and almond flour in the right proportions, etc.

    • @meganbook
      @meganbook  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. I gave them a solid try even eating only their meals. I think it’s my body reacting to something in them and then kicking me out of ketosis. I have started to recreate some of their meals and plan to give them another try in the future when I am further along with my weight loss. I think it’s fantastic you have had so much success!!! Thank you so much for spending time to comment! I hope you keep tuning in.

    But I am so sorry that factor did not work for you, and I wish you the best of luck in your weight loss journey. I shared a little bit of my experience with you, and I am not a health professional at all before I introduced factor into my life I was over eating And my body didn’t have the energy my mind wanted it to have within my first month of doing intermittent fasting and doing the OMAD diet, which is one meal a day my stomach began to strength. My body got used to eating less calories and I don’t get me wrong Every morning I have a vegan collagen protein smoothie and I don’t eat past 4 o’clock so my factor meal I eat by 4 o’clock if I feel like I am starving I have a fruit salad, mixed with kale and leafy greens and nuts. No dressing sometimes I switch it up And I don’t do the proteins smoothie in the morning I’ll make a soup and the soup consist of red peppers and green peppers onions, fresh garlic, celery, carrots, kale mustard, greens, turn up, caring‘s colic greens and purple cabbage that I cook in my Insta pot and I use Mrs. Dash seasoning And a pinch of smoke salt and black pepper. I may switch up and have that bowl in the morning for breakfast if I don’t do a smoothie but majority I have one main meal and that is factor by 4 o’clock just doing that for one month I lost about 22 pounds, and that was without exercising or working out. I am on my second box, a factor of with my concoction of vitamin herbs and plants brew brew drink with lots of alkaline water and periodically throughout the day. I have my wellness and juice shop that I make with plenty of alkaline water. My body went through a detox. I was pronounce type two diabetic my A1c levels have improve, not due to factor prior to factor I had change my eating, but I didn’t have the strength or the wheel to exercise, but due to the fact that I changed my eating and brought my A1c levels down, and when I incorporated factor, my A1c levels were so low I was able to be taken off of the diabetes. The doctor didn’t want to say I was diabetes, free or say that I brought it into a mission but I truly believe that I have once I lose the weight I won’t ever have to worry about being put back on diabetes medication, the doctor says that I’m type pre- diabetic now instead of saying I have diabetes now I go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week because I work nights and when I get off of work at 8 o’clock in the morning I’m at the gym for about an hour. I am down another 15 pounds. I am averaging a pound a day or a pound and a half as far as my weight loss is concerned, I don’t know if that has anything to do with factor or because I’m not eating as much calories. I said to myself I am not a woman that has gone through Gastric bypass surgery but if they can eat small portions because they had their stomach removed why can I do the same, but with my stomach intact why not take the multivitamins and all natural plant-based herbs and supplements throughout this process it has made me take a course never did. I thought I was going to be in the classroom again but now I want to be a herbalist a lot of the plants and things that I take I had to kit it transport it so I am now traveling to different areas where certain plants native to certain areas who would’ve thought me traveling all over the place I was never a person that took trips to other places or utilize my passport going on this health journey and trying out factor has changed my mind about a lot of things and what I consume and how I live my life and how I embrace nature in their environments I’m sorry that you canceled your meal with factor. I have yet to try any of their juice, shots or smoothies or juices or desserts or other add-ons, but going off of the meals they’ve helped me a great deal a lot of the meals I have to freeze, because it’s so many I get at once, but I love it. I wish you the best in your weight loss journey. Thank you for sharing your story with me and with everyone else I always seek out videos where people opinions of certain companies are things in general down along with mines so I can see is factor relieve the shit or is it just a figment of my imagination?😂😂 either way it goes. I forgot where I was going with this long drawn out. Not trying to be a troll, but I’m not sure the meals were throwing you out of ketosis. I saw that you were using a keto tortilla. This is a common pitfall for people who struggle to stay in ketosis. A lot of keto products are misleading, and frankly shouldn’t be allowed to be marketed as keto. Despite the fiber content to offset carb count, things like flour or added sugar will still spike your insulin levels and throw you out of ketosis. I go for butter lettuce or iceberg to eat things that are usually wrapped in a tortilla, or just forego altogether. You should try leaning more carnivore (or ketovore is what it’s being called these days) while you’re trying to drop weight quickly. Keto ‘junk food’ like all of the brownies, deserts, ice creams, candies are all part of the problem too. Sugar alcohols are hard on the body and the other ingredients are known to throw people off as well. Since you have the ketone meter, you should try experimenting with eliminating those types of manufactured products and throw one in after eliminating them to see how they effect your levels. Best of luck on your journey! I hope this is helpful.

    • @meganbook
      @meganbook  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is definitely helpful! I definitely think it is a combination of the meals and the tortillas. I cut the tortillas and was still being kicked out of ketosis with the meals too. I know that for me, I need to lean more Ketovore and am currently working to get there. I’m learning new things every day and am thankful my new doctor is pro keto and is working with me to get me on track. Thanks for watching and commenting!! 😊

I’ve noticed over the years, that drinking a TON of water helps the body metabolize fat, and the electrolyte loss from low/zero carb eating goes overlooked. Happy for you! And happy to hear that the medical community is coming around finally.

      @@dukeofthedesert Definitely electrolytes are a must! I do a combination of LMNT and KetoChow Electrolyte in tablet form. I agree they are often a neglected key piece to this puzzle. I will be checking out Dr. Chafee. Thanks for the insight!

    In fairness, you are adding things to the meal. The tortilla and side on your plate is NOT Factor. It’s you.
    What else did you eat during the day? I bet it wasn’t just Factor

    • @meganbook
      @meganbook  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is true, in fairness, on this day I added a low carb tortilla. However, for the duration of my time with Factor, I only added things twice. I did not eat them for every meal as that is not how they were intended at the time for the Keto version. I definitely could have done things better, but, I don't feel they are as good of a fit for a Keto lifestyle as I personally would have liked. I have since figured out that carnivore is a much better fit for my needs, my body, and my overall health. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

      The tortilla I had is a high fiber zero net carb, but I figured out later that they still stall my weight loss. Thanks for watching and commenting!! 😊

      @@Tinaisspooky I am allergic to wheat. So my body stalls when I eat any wheat even high fiber low carb products. Thanks for asking! :) They don't affect my family just me. Which is a bummer. But, I need to remember to do what is best for me even when it is difficult.

    Chick, you need to concentrate on eating correct than worrying about ketosis. Cut out the sugars and fruit out of your life or else none of those diets will work. Eat 6 times a day whatever you want as long as there is no sugar content. Every time you have a sugar craving drink a cup of coffee or a bit of an energy drink. Don't waste your life with pointless diet fads that destroy your mood and confidence. At the end of the day it always comes down to your coloric intake and sugar intake with destroy any calorie deficient diet!

      6 times a day? bad advice... thats how u remove years from ur life.
      eat 2-4 times a week. no more than once a day.. and not even every day. mostly meat. sometimes veg. nothing else.
      (thats not the most realistic plan to follow) but it is optimal for human health.. eating 6× a day is why you see people dying in their 60's instead of hundreds.
      1 meal a day is so much better than 6..
      or if u need more than 1. do them in a 4hr window..
      this sort of misinformation is DEADLY!!!

    She's so surprised that she got out of ketosis by eating all those meals. What she lacks to tell you is the amount of food that she was putting inside of her body she was not able to burn that amount of fuel. Kind of like driving a car and then going to the gas station and fill it back up when you already have a half tank of gas. If you keep overfilling the car it starts to spill out everywhere.... Moral of the story if you eat more you have to perform more. Hence get your butt to the gym and put in the work... 🤌🤌
