There. From the very first stream 7 moths ago, to today. I survived Dipper's Persona 5 Royal streams. I guess It was fine. Don't forget, the answer is always C. We should be grateful.
I started watching your Persona 5 VODs a couple weeks ago after you randomly popped up on my home page. Usually I don’t do long videos or series, but I really enjoyed this. Thank you for playing through all this, it was a fantastic watch!
It’s insane how hard the game tries to make the player see that the situation isn’t that black and white, with Maruki just being a crazy bad guy, and yet so many streamers still go “Oh, but this reality is fake! Akechi is fake! You’re just crazy!” Like no, it’s more nuanced than that. Hating Maruki for his actions is forced and just taking the easy route. And again, Akechi wasn’t fake. He was brought back to life, as the game said like 50 times with Wakaba and Okumura. Maruki not once does anything that could be even remotely considered evil. A lot of it can be seen as an unwanted favor, and it often absolutely is, but he’s genuinely not a bad guy and never once acts as one. He just desperately tries to help people with the only power he has, which very much blossoms into a full blown Messiah complex, but not one that comes from ill will. The point is that he has one view of reality that stems from wanting to run away from pain, while the Phantom Thieves think people should face it instead. As their ideals differ, they clash and fight. But there’s no “evil” and “good” side in that. Maruki’s reality was absolutely doing some good in a lot of people’s lives, especially those that faced a lot of tragedy that they simply couldn’t overcome alone cause, honestly, life CAN be unfair and sometimes you just can’t win. But that doesn’t mean that everyone should just be robbed of agency, which is why you end up fighting him at the end of the day. His solution really wasn’t that bad, but it had a lot of critical flaws. Long paragraph, I just like him a lot as a character. Kick ass antagonist, super well written.
The game itself does acknowledge both sides. Morgana tells maruki that a lot of people would benefit from his reality, but that's unfair to those who want to tackle their own problems. And maruki tells joker that it is better for everyone if they tackled problems on their own, but really doesn't make that easy
Maruki's not a bad guy. His problem is that he cares too much. And we all do that sometimes. As a parent, one of the hardest things I ever had to do was sit on my hands and stop myself from helping my autistic son do things. Because if I did it for him, he'd never be able to do it himself. So I had to learn to stop, watch, make sure he's not doing something inherently dangerous... and then witness him struggle until he finally got it. But when he did... oh, man. Victory was never so sweet. Seeing his big "I did it!" smile after watching him fight for so long to accomplish his goals was worth all the pain of watching him fail and get back up over and over.
A theory is that Akechi wasn’t dead, but believed by everyone (even Akechi himself) to have died. The ending catches people off guard, but it would make sense if Akechi was simply in a coma. The fact that Akechi didn’t disappear after the acknowledgment that he might be dead, seems to show that he was not conscious but still existing. I believe this 3rd semester helped Akechi to gain the will to live on, that’s why he appeared in the end after waking up from his slumber.
That’s why to this day I still pretty much am on his side of the fence. In a normal situation he’d be crazy/evil, but here he truly has the power to alter reality with none of the drawbacks that many people use to argue against his ideals. There’s no need to have to overcome hardship after hardship when maruki can literally erase it. He isn’t ignoring problems or making people run from the past. He simply changes the problems or the past itself as though it never occurred. There’s no worthwhile benefit gained from a child suffering through the loss of their parent in a situation where that parent can be completely brought back happy and healthy
Been here since the beginning, though I arrived at this stream a little late… Congratulations on beating P5 Royal! Now we have P5 Strikers and P3 Reload… I look forward to you experiencing those games!

Congrats on beating P5R! This is by far my favorite Persona game. I couldn't be there for every stream, but I could tell you really enjoyed it from beginning to end! P3 and 4 are just as good if not better than 5, so I'm sure you will have just as much fun with them!
I love this game, story, and characters so much. I absolutely cry every time when it was all over and the credits song started playing. This game was my first persona game and will likely always be my favorite. And I love the sort of "call and response" thing going on woth the phantom thieves theme "I Believe" leasing up to the battle and maruki's theme "Throw Away Your Mask" during the battle. Maruki truly doesnt want bad things to happen to you, but you simply cant accept his reality. If i were to rank main characters based on how much i liked them, it would go 1. Akechi and sojiro(aka coffee dad) 2. Maruki 3. Ann, futaba, and ryuji 4. Sumire 5. Makoto 6. Haru
Noticed no one put it so I’ll put it here since it’s fun to learn persona parallels to their owners *Hereward* (Akechi’s 3rd Awakening Persona) -Was exiled at 18 y/o for disobedience to his father (Shido in Akechi’s case) and disruptive behavior, which caused problems among the local community and was declared an outlaw (via Gesta Herewardi). -The only things about his past that are more or less somewhat confirmed are who his parents are (son of Edith and Leofric), leading people to believe he might not exist (which could tie into Akechi existing where he shouldn’t be in the 3rd semester).
That's what makes it painful going into this fight. The sacrifice akechi makes and us players who promise him we will go through with it even if it cost his existence. So much emotional damage and I love they wrote this.
@@Dipperdog_RPGirl hopefully akechis fate was the one that you got at the end credit cutscene there's another end credit cutscene where is the same thing but akechi doesn't pop up
I just noticed this after playing this for a while but Maruki's persona was actually based on azathoths dreams ;-; Which is basically not true btw he's only sleeping idk if it was confirmed somewhere
Yeah… Akechi had been dead ever since Shido’s palace. It makes it hit way harder when you realize the entire time he was there helping you against Maruki, even AFTER death, he did not want to be pitied for what happened to him. Tbh, he probably feels he deserves his pain. You even mentioned a good point, the fact Akechi had been dead the whole time makes you really feel how Futaba and Haru felt when they had to face the facts. Let’s also not forget that Akechi’s existence in the 3rd semester was due to Joker’s belief he was still alive. His personality is how Joker saw Akechi’s personality. The 3rd semester really makes you feel true emotional pain lol
I hope she plays "P5 Strikers" sometimes, so she can meet the final dad. We've met coffee dad and gun dad now we only need to mert police dad to complete the set.
one last thing about girls while i have been dating my girlfriend for a while the only reason why i know what to do is simple before we were dating she was my best friend so i knew her likes and preferences on things that you otherwise don't know yet
I know how that feels lately I've been catching She was doing it with my best She was doing it with my best friend like cheating and next thing I know she asked me

Watching your playthrough has been such a blast. Glad you saw it through and enjoyed your time with the game!
Letting you know that since you beat the game Billy kametz the va for maruki is no longer here with us letting you know that which is sad

I feel like you can tell a lot about a person based on how they react to maruki's ideals

Congrats on beating Persona 5 Royal. If you ever play Persona 3 Reload, it’s definitely slower but it definitely has the best characters and story
If you play P3 Reload, then I highly suggest watching the original cutscenes from P3 FES, I feel like many of them hit harder due to the art style.

I can't wait to see the play through of Strikers which will probably be awhile but hey, it'll be worth it.

And roll credits! It was a fun night!
It’s been a wild ride
Did chat really tell you take make broken personas
If i could choose one of girl( And they would became Real) then 1th place Is Kawakami And 2nd place Is Futaba
P3 really is emotional damage in every good way
Next video can I get a hernia Yeah!!!!!
You spent quite literally twice as long in the game than everyone else. I don’t know how you took 100 hours longer than the average completion time.
Congrats, but now its time to start persona 3
