I feel like these boxes were just made by the ebay seller themselves and could possibly just be placing images of vintage packs on the box without even putting any vintage packs in any of their boxes. Biggest red flag for me was the fact that there was no bar code or distribution info.
💯 agreed, any seller now probably understands the demand of Pokemon and probably just post any image on their page to bait people into buying their product

Just avoid mystery boxes, its fun to watch on youtube but its never worth buying
u can change the box design with the template in few minuts lol like rasmus told u, just dont buy mystery boxes, never, including "vintage" mystery boxes
I have a weird feeling these are bootlegged boxes- he bought off eBay- and the print on the actual box is poor. Plus it had all modern sets within this yearish

The fact that they don't have barcodes on, also seems fishy.

Not only were they cheap new packs but like you said it looks like they weighed them to make sure the buyer gets nothing as well.

Venusaur and Venusaur reverse in 1 pack is actually pretty sick. I still can't understand why Venusaur is just an uncommon card in this set.

Reminds me of a local shop we have over here.
They sell these dodgy mystery boxes as well.
Once they were selling fake booster packs of battle styles for 7 euro's each.
Battle styles of all packs.
I think these ones are easily scammable beacuse the vintage pack counts as the mystery item. So if you get a pack as a mystery item instead of the single card, the boxes weigh a bit more. Enough of a difference that they can be somewhat reliably weighed to find the ones with the extra mystery packs. Unfortunate, but thanks for the opening Rev!

I've never seen those before, not even leonharts opened one of those. Probably custom made
I live in the UK and those packs are all that's available in retailers at the moment. If you're lucky, now and again you might be able to get a shining fates ETB but anything older/rarer not a chance here unless you have deep pockets for private auctions.

On the green code card front, can you weigh modern packs? I’ve seen this a lot in mystery boxes/packs, where you get a ton of green code cards. Could just be coincidence, or a chance for collectors to weigh out the bad packs and package them into something more expensive.

@@ArticJC It's tough to explain without sounding like a hater. Pokerev sells box breaks on his website (which is where a lot of his content comes from is opening the packs he sold on stream). But he sells vintage packs for like 35%+ of market value and the person paying gets to watch HIM open them on his live streams. So not only does he get paid 35% more for packs (probably 75% total profit) he also gets revenue from TH-cam. For example he might do a base set box break, he will sell the base set packs labeled as *opened on stream* for like $700+ each (base set packs are $4-500 all day).
Edit: To answer your actual question- he doesn't. He would never pay the prices he claims the packs are worth.
@@jq7323 Its all good lol everyone's entitled to their opinion and I appreciate the explanation. On my channel I haven't posted prices in my videos because with pokemon prices have been so all over the place...especially after the logan paul fiasco.

The worst part of these being sold on ebay, is that they can't be considered scams since they have the chances on the box. People who make and sell really bad mystery boxes like these are the absolute worst.

I opened one of these before and I think one of the cards was seriously bent. Or it could have been those packs where the cards was in a clear container and I think you got 60 and one promo. But they mainly give you common cards and energy cards
I had the same thing happen with your mystery bags. Paid 120 for two got like $25 in value.
I feel like people have figured out how to separate the green and white code cards now. They grab the big hitters and put the no hitter in the mystery packs
Wish I kept my original cards. I sold my entire binder of originals I collected as a kid for like 300 bucks. Including a mint condition charizard and many other originals. 🙁

I recently bought my first mystery box off of eBay for $110 after taxes. Not expecting anything huge, but it does guarantee a variant of a psa graded charizard.
I literally think they just put the packs from the tins or boxes they opened in these boxes lol. The packs matched the code card they put in extra lol. Thanks for being the scapegoat rev!
Just so y’all know and can be careful….anyone can list anything for any price they want on eBay, call it a “mystery” and put whatever they want in it. Just because they list something for 100 doesn’t mean automatically there’s 100 dollars worth of stuff in there. I’d be really careful buying mystery boxes…I don’t buy them ever haha if I want something I buy that

Same ones walgreens sells. Theirs are smaller versions tho with 2 packs for 15$ and actually purchased one last night and it was both sun and moon so hardly worth 2x the cost of a booster price

I bought about 30 of these few years ago from Walmart. I have seen a couple base set packs pulled from these. One dude on ebay pulled a venasaur pack n flipped.

I don’t know what it is about mystery boxes but I just find them so interesting to watch. I guess it adds the extra suspense on top of the normal pack opening suspense

Speaking of this was a mistake, your price for a 1999 1st Edition Base Set English Booster pack go for 10,000+… Booster boxes go for 500,000+
36 packs at 5,000 would be just 180,000

I never trust these eBay mystery packs/bundles. They show a base set pack of an expensive card or graded card and maybe that is a possibility to get but the seller knows which one has it and won't ship that one until they have made enough money

Mystery packs are such a gamble, can't win them all Rev but good stuff either way man!
Where would you recommend getting more affordable mystery boxes from? My wife is going through cervical cancer treatment and I’ve set her up this account so that she can maybe film her opening products and I thought a mystery box would be a good place to start as she loves anything with a surprise element

So I just bought a bunch of individual booster packs from a pretty reputable trading card store… what are the chances they weigh the packs and send you the less weighted ones? I bought 8 different booster packs from different eras and I got all green code cards!
