I have been able to adjust the retaining wire or spring and make the bezel fairly useful. I have dived with them when the water pressure is on they stay very tight. I only used it a 60 feet which is a very deep dive for a novice mostly 20-30 feet and the bezel will not move at that depth. Al in all a great watch for the money. There's about 100 different styles, and they're cool and quirky, with a fantastic history.
I just got my white dial and bezel in from Meramon website, the factory site. Came in a bag with a very well packed cardboard box and it protected the red Bostok plastic watchbox. I do like the bracelet and was pleasantly surprised how nice it was compared the TH-cam reviews I watched.it does take a little bit to figure out the time, but easily enough to figure out. Its comfortable on my almost 8" wrist. The bracelet was easy to size only needing one link on each side of the clasp , for two links total. I ordered a Vostok Mesh with my order and they gave me a complimentary Black NATO strap which was really nice, all included inside the watchbox. It was $6,299 rubles total, or $88 US Dollars. I am very happy, only taking two months to get it with Covid-19 shipping times. I ordered a watch from Alie Express before I ordered this and still waiting. Love your review and it is spot on.
I just found your channel and loved the review. I actually bought this style watch at the Vostok website a lot cheaper than Amazon. It will take longer to get, but I have seen the watches bought directly from the Russian factory are in time really well. I have one of the cheaper Vostok coming Friday from Amazon and its $30 more than I can buy it directly from the company. I subscribed and am very new to the watch collecting world even though I have collected watches for the last 40 years and just put them away when batteries died and straps broke. That’s a very nice review. I bought the same but in blue color. I should receive it within some days. Actually I was more like an Omega fan or even high end SeiKo but I don’t know what I have since I can’t help wearing my Vostok on my wrist. Kind of inexplicable attraction to them. In one hand I’m fully aware that they are even not super beautiful but once again I LOVE them. Tks again for the good review
I own this watch and I really like it. The first thing I did was to put a nato strap on. I read somewhere today though that the bezel action does in fact stiffen up in the water at a depth of 10 metres and beyond, similar to the water pressure making the watch water resistant.
The bezel stiffens because you don’t want to be turning it when diving. It’s main purpose is to check how much time you have left until the air you have runs out.
@@zBMatt yes that would be the case for Vostoks since they use friction bezels and therefore can be moved bi-directionally. Dive watches from the West all use uni-directional bezels so that the diver can only subtract remaining oxygen time and not increase it. Due to the considerable technological difference between the two, Vostok had to really think outside the box and this is another nice little example
@@zBMatt nope the main purpose has nothing to do with air remaining. Divers need to time their dives so that they can go to the surface safely. When you descend the gazes in your body saturate in your flesh and your blood. If you go to the suface too quickly, the gazes in your body ends up forming bubbles (like if you open a soda bottle) you need to evacuate those bubbles in a timely manners. Let’s say like if you have shaken your coke bottle and want to open it, you need to let the gaz go out slowly and not fully open the bottle right away. For that we need to know how deep we were and how long. (That’s why the bezel is here). And the diving tables will tell us how fast to go up.
I like Vostok's. I have four. One from the Soviet Union and three modern ones. I have one automatic Komandirski, a red one similar to this watch. It uses the same case and it's my most frequently worn watch. I would like to get a 24 hour one and having seen this review I think I'll get one of these.

I disagree with the part about the date wheel not matching the dial being a bad thing. I think it’s a bit of information that is good to have contrast on. It also makes it distinct from the numbers on the dial, So that your eyes don’t treat it as if it’s in that track
Nice video, just was checking this brand but had questions about the glass/acryl. But you can off course buff minor scratches. So i wil try one, just for fun!
Hi Aviv and thanks for the review. It helped me really before buying this watch! I got it tomorrow and can"t wait to see it after 30 days (!!!) after I command it... But I would like ti buy exactly the same nato strap you show at 14mn39 in the video. May I ask you where you find it? Thanks!

Been contemplating for a while about getting one, that acrylic crystal worries me a bit. Then again, I won’t be wearing it every day, so maybe it’s not such a big issue?
I don't see it as an issue, if it scratches you can buff it out with Polywatch in less than 2 minutes... The watch is definitely worth it in my opinion 🙂

@@MyAffordableWatchCollection Have ordered one yesterday, should be interesting what it looks like in real life. At such a silly price I suspect I will end up with a bunch of them, eventually. The 030599 is so much better. I have the "Big Red" Komandirskie with date, and just bought this 030599. It's supposed to be an all new 2020 model. Nobody has a video on it yet. This watch you are featuring is just a 24 hour version of the "Big Red". Give the new model a try. It is a much better watch than it has any right to be for on average $20 more than this one. Butterfly clasp and solid links in the bracelet (although it still has hollow end links)! Also, applied (and LUMED) indices and numbers, and hands that have that little crease in them, instead of being flat. I don't remember what that's called. Still the good, reliable Vostok guts. Without a date, which really helps my OCD, since Vostok doesn't like quick set dates. Give it a try, dude! It's cheap!

I think it's great for daily use, just make sure you have some Polywatch ready for the crystal!
They're really great, I love mine and am looking forward to adding some more to my collection 😊
I have five Vostok watches, three of them vintage...
I have two vintage Vostoks as well, and I also want to buy an Amphibia 😊
They are so affordable and fun!
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection On Meranom most stock is sold out....
While not great but any means, that bracelet is better than the average Vostok amphibia bracelet.
Good to know about going between 20 and 24. Thanks
I'm glad you found it helpful, thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thanks for watching Christophe, I'm glad you liked my review and found it helpful!
I added a link to that strap to the description of this video - it is the first one on the list of straps, the colorway is 'kahki'. Enjoy your new watch!
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection Thank you so much!
Heyyyyyyy do you know where I can buy a 24 hour bezel insert so I can track a second timezone on my white one????
No one has an answer for me sadly
Your video was amazing!
Thanks!
I'm glad you enjoyed the review! I don't know where you can find that kind of bezel, but there's a Facebook group called 'vostok watch collectors and modders', I'm sure they can help you. Good luck!
Nice video bro!
Thanks P. Ross!
Just bought one looking forward
Awesome, enjoy it!
Great review thank you
Thanks for watching Darren 😊
I daily a komsndirski, its not an automatic like my amphibia, its also not stainless steel but brass, all this chips and scratches revile that. I love it tho, its my favorite watch.
I want to bit one of those Komandirskies too 👌🏻
Is it possible to replace the 650 case with a 110 case ? I like the dial but don't like the octagon shape of the case.
I think you can, but I'm not 100% sure...
Спасибо за добрый обзор друг. Все по делу, как есть.
Aviv Sick video bro
Thanks Jordan! Much appreciated 🙏🏻
Worth to buy. I own one.
Hi Aviv, can you review the Heimdallr Sharkey SKX007 or 62mas please.
I have a different Heimdallr coming up soon, a Citizen Fugu homage. Maybe sometime in the future I'll get the chance to review the SKX one!
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection I guess you’re right, they are really unique and interesting for sure. I might pull the trigger on one of them, which might lead the way to one more afterwards 😅
Toda dude 😁
@@Cavush you can't just have one Vostok 😂
Bevakasha 😊
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection well, just got it.
Went for the blue one with no date window (650852). It’s gorgeous, looks a bit smaller in person, and the blue nato strap that it comes on really doesn’t do it justice.
Gonna have fun with this one for sure! 😁
Doesn't this model also comes with open case back variation ?
Maybe, not that I know of...
I've had a few of these Vostok watches and for some reason the hands fall off?
That's weird!
This would like nice on a mesh
I actually bought a nice mesh bracelet just for it, it does look nice 😊
Salut Komorade!
Thank you :)
Nasdrovia 😊
What knife is that?
I recently bought this exact watch and the bracelet broke within 4 weeks. Does anyone know of a good replacement metal bracelet i can buy.
Anything with 20mm width. The one in the thumbnail of this video is a beads of rice bracelet from Strapsco which I really like.
Which one should I buy between 650539 and 650541.
Both are awesome, I would very much like to get hands on the 650539 👌🏻
Where can I find the beads of rice bracelet in the thumbnail?!
This one is from Strapsco .Com
I bought one today.
Awesome, it's a great watch 😁
The movement in this watch is the 2431 not 2416.
This watch like as Kalashnikov!
The best possible description of this watch 😂
I have this watch but I can't stop second. How can I set it?
The seconds hand doesn't stop when you set the time on this watch
Find me another £30 mechanical watch of this durability and precision.
One of the best value of for money watches for sure, I love it.
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection
Have ordered one yesterday, should be interesting what it looks like in real life.
At such a silly price I suspect I will end up with a bunch of them, eventually. Can't go wrong with something that costs this little yet offers precision that beats much more expensive and famous Swiss watches. 🤔
Bit late, but do you mean £30 for this particular watch? If so, please, please, please tell me where 🙏
@@coyhutt8022
No, not for this particular model. For Komandirskie watch per se.
@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040 dam, I was afraid that would be the answer! I've found a site cheaper than meranom, also official factory. Best I can do at the moment.
is it rotate 1 or 2 round per day?
1 full round per 24 hours
Dig this watch.
Me too!
I like it on that gray and black Nato...but...isn't that...well....wrong? LOL, J/K. Vostok and HMT are on my "to do " list
Lol, why wrong?
And yeah both are great value for money 👌
@@MyAffordableWatchCollection LOL, I was playing on the fact that Russia is not a NATO country, so using a NATO on a non-NATO watch is funny. Little Canadian humour.
Ohhhh 😂
A Komandirskie at 200 m wr..? I thought that was amphibia's terf.
Bravo!
Thank you 😊
Is this 22mm lugw?
20mm
I like a Vostok but don’t like the numbering on this one
It's cheap!
Thanks for the tip, it really sounds good. I'll check it out!
