    Stellar work as always! I never got around to flying RoF so these are welcome addition to try in IL2... You are so on the ball with these tutorials, it never ceases to amaze me at the rate you get these out. Between playing and still learning a handful of aircraft from Kuban I actually have a backlog I need to go back through and watch. Thanks so much for you continued efforts.

      Thanks very much Chuffer, the Flying Circus airplanes are easy to put out as I'm pretty familiar with them already after my experience with RoF, so it only takes a couple of attempts for me to be happy with the flying. The FC are fun and they're a bit more interesting to me than another variant of the 109 or 190 anyway (which is why I haven't got around to doing the G-14 or A-8 yet...)

    Impressive! No matter how long we've all flown RoF, you always manage to teach me something new (I never knew about the air pressure regulator, for starters). Already looking forward to your videos for the rest of Flying Circus, the Bristol in particular. ;)

      A Bristol? Oh dear. I believe I shall be coming to you for advice on that one old chap...you have more hours in a Bristol than I do in the CRJ-900 I would imagine ;-)

      Cheers racer, I just didn't think the old Rise of Flight videos were up to standard so they needed to be re-done :-)

    Welcome back to the "crates" Requiem! I've just begun my RoF flying and all your old videos are excellent. Thanks for putting that kind of effort into the community. Looking forward to more. So FC is out or are you on the playtest team?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Rob it's nice flying them again for sure. I asked to be on the testing team a while ago so I could make these Flying Circus videos and have them released at the same time as the patch to help them out. My message was read but I didn't get a reply so I assumed the answer was no.

      The Air Combat Tutorial Library Too bad, they're loss for sure. I'm at sea so I can't "fly", so FC is available now? Was under the impression wasn't due for release in the fall or winter.
      Finally, I'd like to request an "engagement study", particularly a defensive one. Your tutorials are great but I need a lesson in saving my bacon! So yeah, a breakdown of a one-on-one would be fantastic.

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep it's available now with the Spad and Dr.1 released at the moment with the remaining 8 still to go. I've been working on plenty of maneuvering videos which include how to defend as well in the BFM section. Still plenty more videos to come on that front and will include more defensive maneuvering too.

    Awesome video! Will you be doing combat-related turtorials for Flying Circus?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I can, but any of the BFM videos I make can still apply to WWI or any simulator as the principles are very much the same.

    +RequiemBoS *I reckon the Fokker D.VII and Dr.II have a comparable instrument layout* with the exception of the damping-strut-mounted airspeed gauge. Some pursuit types, this S.XIII being typical, packed a centerline riflescope along with the iron sights on the synchroguns' receivers and barrel shrouds; the Germans had issued the then-experimental Reflektorvizier to some _Jagdstaffeln_ flying the D.VII.

      Yep still "living the dream" Jerry. A bit over 600hrs in the CRJ-900 now so another 5-6 months and I'll have enough to upgrade to Captain.

      A lot of fun! It's great to be flying fast :-) I get to visit Canda pretty often flying it too, usually with overnights Montreal or Toronto.

    I'm STILL saving up, I have now started amassing various items for eBay!! Good stuff Req and, as always, thanks mate! When we gonna see some more 'live' footage? I enjoyed that.

    • @TheRaptorXX
      @TheRaptorXX 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ps Just a quick thought... Not (obviously) for the MANY videos you've done to date, but would there be any chance of sticking in MPH as well as KmPH? Even if only as layover text? I know this sounds lazy but I only use MPH as I'm REALLY old-school!!

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found some "live" footage of me from flight training but haven't quite compiled it into videos yet. They are kind of bland with just engine noise, so I was thinking of some talking based on my flight training blog for those particular days but haven't gotten around to the voiceovers. The extra footage is of my introductory flight and my first cross country flight.
      You saw the short version of my solo but I have a full version from engine start to finish with the ATC audio uploaded but not released though. Not sure why but you can't really hear me on the radio during it but other airplanes and the tower controller is fine. It's like 45 mins long LOL

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I won't be adding in the converted mph/kmhr. I'll only provided whatever units are used on the instruments in that particular airplane to take away needless conversions, so it's actually lazier to do it my way! I could make the argument everyone should be just be using knots and be done with it ;-)

    Wait so the altimeter is on the right, what's the air pressure gauge for?

    • @RequiemsACTL
      @RequiemsACTL  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it indicates air pressure for the fuel lines. Without the air pressure the engine would end up starved of fuel.
