"Highland Games are basically chucking stuff!" made me laugh out loud, as did the Border Collie herding geese. Lovely to be transported to your beautiful island.

Fabulous to see you back after what seems ages ago - although it isn’t really. Love your jumper. I knitted my first SW secret sock along and loved it. Never knitted a sock before and thought the weekly tutorials just perfect. I have never fancied the shawls but this was ideal. The footage of the summer jolly Island day events was super to see. Thanks so much. 🧶

Your chat about having to rip back and pick up lots of stitches is the main reason I don’t knit big garments. All thought of all those loose stitches give me the geebies. I can knit socks, though I prefer to have
a crochet hook and only ONE stitch on the hook any day! Enjoyed your podcast!

They were never loose - I wove in a life line before ripping back. Takes out the stress!

Thanks for dropping by to let us know how much fun you are having this Summer Andrew. Labs are my favourite breed of dog, I've had a few throughout my life. I now have 4 mini Labradoodles, we lost our oldest a few months ago☹ they are my life. Thanks for taking us to your Highland games. This is very familiar to me here in Nova Scotia,Canada 🇨🇦. We also have an International Tattoo here in Halifax, NS every Summer which is spectacular...if you fancy the bagpipes😊. Wishing you an early happy birthday. 🥰Sharon.

It is so good to spend some time knitting with you during this episode! I love the Open Studios footage. And your Dustland is coming along beautifully. I laughed when you were saying you always make things too large. I run into the same problem. I've only recently figured out making a couple of things that actually fit me relatively well (of course the bigger things are still cozy). I'm looking forward to seeing the next episode!

Lovely to spend time with you again, Andrew, and to admire the start of beautiful yet rugged pullover...looks like you've had a fun summer so far with lots of great activities and knitting time! I just went to the 174th Highland Games in Livonia, Michigan USA which I thoroughly enjoyed as it keeps the Scottish traditions alive and thriving here! Happy almost Birthday fellow Virgo...we share the same birth date, go figure :) Dougal is adorable!

I managed to bind off 500 stitches of a summer top I made and put it in a water bath to soak (the straps are a bit short so hanging it while wet will stretch them out)
    Regarding Stephen West Shawls:
the 2021 mkal "Shawlography" was so lovely it was actually the reason I learned how to knit. The videos are super helpful and Stephen´s personality is just so lovely (and his "say yes don´t stress" mantra just hits the spot sometimes). That one was so fun to knit as well.
Because I did love the shawlography so much I decided to sign up for the 2022 mkal, but I stopped and unraveled 3/4 of the way through because the pattern was just not for me.
I´ve stayed away from MKALs since and only decide on patterns I can see first, but Stephen West is so creative and makes such unique and interesting designs, anyone can find something for themselves I´m sure

I have the same problem of knitting sweaters too large. I keep working on it.Dougal is adorable. I think I would be afraid to be in that bystander crowd watching the chucking of things. I’d be worried one of the things being chucked would go astray into the crowd. Very trusting folk. 😊 Thanks for the video. Your sweater looks nice. I’ve had those kind of mistakes too and had to tink back. It’s better than having to know about the mistake being there and not fixing it. Have a great weekend. 🧶

Nice to see you back ! In the time you've been away I was on Arran. Not with much time for my knitting though, as I previously said, I was helping cook for one of the camps at kings cross !
It was great to be back in Arran though ( even with ferry delays) and I managed a day in Brodick at the end of camp, to enjoy ice cream, watch the crazy golf and a stroll along the sea front.

First may I say, Dougal is too stinkin' CUTE! Love his name too. Good to see you. You have been missed. I love seeing all the goings on around you. Watching the Games was just fabulous. So many playing bagpipes. Had no idea it was such a popular instrument. I must ask a question. Are you fluent in Gaelic? Or do you have vocabulary of odd phrase here and there? You are still on summer break from schools? In Florida where I live, school started 10 Aug. Traffic is a mess during school hours. I am glad both my kids are college/university age and I do not have to worry about it. LOL. Looking forward to your next video. See you in the next one.

It's called the cross of St Pirran, who was a Irish monastic pioneer in Cornwall, at that time a separate country but now part of England. No particular relevance to me other than I like the design.
