The author does like to from scratch, th-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practise the full stack project, is still great.
This press has worked like a charm for my projects th-cam.com/users/postUgkxajoEbapTfqWaadnqb04h6U576yxXp-FE . I didn't even secure it to my table top, mainly due to the fact that I was using a 15 lbs drill vise. It's not flimsy at all as to what others have claimed it to be. Make sure the locking nuts and levers are secured and there won't be any issues with light pressure and patience. I was able to drill through aluminum, plastic, and steel (steel took a while) with no problems at all. Yeah it took a little longer than a regular drill press, but I don't have the space OR the money for one.The instruction manual was worthless, but luckily assembling the press was intuitive. However, the manual would be good for ordering replacement parts if needed. There is a nice breakdown of the parts that are included in the kit. Before ordering, make sure it is compatible with your unit, it is clearly stated what models the press is compatible with. This was an excellent purchase for $40!!
Great job!
A suggestion if I may: consider marking-off along the support arm. The numbers can be made larger, thus more legible, and less likely to break.
That’s a good idea
Yeah, I saw the exact same thing on some other video in the last week or so.
Or even make some positive stop spots (little rounded notch in the arms, assuming they don't change the angel) so you know you hit those more common angles every time.
I really love how you're so thorough in explaining what you're doing and making sure we're all on the same page. The little text edits also help a lot in that regard.
I've never done any woodwork, but I absolutely love watching these videos with my morning coffee.
So awesome to hear!
I’ve had a floor drill press for 40 plus years and never thought of this. You are the best!
Awesome! Thanks!
Once again Tamar your design wins me over after watching a ton of video options for drill press tables.
You never cease to amaze, Tamar! Just incredible.
☺️☺️
👍👍👍👏👏👏
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Tamar, You are so far now from "it just an hobby". You are totally pro. Love it
☺️☺️
It was always exciting whenever you take us to your journey! I appreciate the idea of having an insert that is replaceable whenever got teardown!
Glad you like it!
You are the jig Queen. What a great drill press table build.
Haha agreed 💯! Very inspiring which is always the goal for a builder. 👍🏼
Haha glad you liked it!
I really like the WD-40 Dry Lube. I had to stay out of my shop for a month to be a nurse to my wife fir her knee replacement. I touched up all my metal surfaces with grit blocks and sprayed liberally with the dry lube and looked today and not a speck of rust.
That’s awesome. But hope your wife is feeling better
Two comments:
The piano hinge could have notches cut at the bases of the T-track for access instead of needing to cut the tracks shorter.
The sacrificial insert needs to be much thicker, as drilling on an angle with a wide drill bit (forstner) will go beyond the depth of it on the higher side before the bit has completely gone through the work piece on the lower side.
i got massively into woodworking in the beginning of 2020 , i got diagnosed with cancer and while going through chemo , when ever i was actually awake i'd watch woodworking videos on youtube , you are one of three woodworkers who made me wanna start , i just wanted to say thank you , during the time i found ur channel i really really needed something to make me wanna get up and do stuff and the inspiration i got off you made me wanna do that. so thank you very very very much for doing what you do.
Wow. That’s so nice to hear. I hope you are feeling better!
It's so awesome to see a large woodworking channel using consumer grade tools. Soo many channels of your sub size have only expensive commercial grade tools.
Also your husband is a very blessed man. He has an awesome wife!
Haha glad you like it
This really felt more like a EUREKA! moment rather that a jig build video. Other than what it is intended to be, the realization of what it can BE more is WAY more satisfying. . .
BRAVO Tamar, as always. . .
Hah thanks!
3x3 custom jig Queen. New nickname, I have gotten more jigs from your channel than from any of the other channels. Thank you so much. Hoping for another guitar build soon.
Haha awesome to hear
We love watching your shows.
Michael, Lyza, Grace.
Thanks!
Pretty pretty pretty good Tamar. Awesome video as Always
Glad you liked it!
Amazing once again. I wonder if you would ever consider doing a video on how you learned all these skills. Because not only are you a brilliant woodworker but a brilliant design engineer as well. 🇮🇪😘
Thanks! I’ve been thinking of doing an faq video…
I have a 50 year old drill press with exactly the same problems. How times have NOT changed!
You're very clever. Great solutions.
Hahha glad you like it!
Luv the way you explain things and make them look more reachable… … I think I have a crush on my new teacher 🤣…. Jokes apart we appreciate the work put into your videos . Thank you
Haha thanks!
I think I've watched most if not all of your builds Tamar, I think your amazing, I just like to watch and admire your skill and the way you present, I hope your proud of yourself, you should be, you do a great job, you seem like an amazing human.

Very slick Tamar!
Haha 🤘
@10:30... Did anyone else just get a craving for waffles?
My second thought was the beginning of Aladdin with the merchant showing the multi-use item. Lol
Tamar,
I love that YT suggested your channel to me. You explain really well, and have some awesome ideas.
Keep up the cool innovations!
Combination hookah and coffee maker! Will not break! It broke…
Danke für die tolle Idee und die Umsetzung.
You’re a genius. Just love your creative solutions.
Awesome jig, could make the insert part as a metre long piece in advance then just cross cut a section off when your ready for a new one.
That’s a great idea!
You have all reasons to be happy.
The work ended perfect in every angle. GREAT
👍👍👍
What an awesome solution. You’re so creative! Love to see your excitement when you saw it all come together. Great job.
Also wondering what you’re going to do with those big slabs behind the drill press
Thanks! No plans for the slabs. Got them for free. So I had to take them…. Ha
Everytime I watch your channel I am impressed with your ability to think outside the box
I've been in the business for a lot of year's and never watched a channel that was so enjoyable
Thanks
That’s awesome to hear
Tamar that jig is great like all of watch you build, it shows you think a lot and plan before doing your projects, very useful, thanks !!!
Glad you like it!
Great job! I've made many single use angle jigs for my drill press and then thrown them away after. I'll be making this adjustable (and reusable) one soon. The half protractor is a brilliant idea!
Awesome. Glad you liked it!
Gosto muito de seus vídeos..
👍👍👍👍
Excellent video. Thank you from a poor guy who takes good ideas and uses them.
Haha thanks
I love your videos. I am impressed with your ingenuity and persistence in your work! Your humor and humility are awesome, too.
FYI, I made a drill press table (not angled like yours) and had the same issue with the elevation crank handle, but I wanted a wider and centered table. What I did was cut three 3/4 inch pieces of plywood the same dimension as the stock table top, and laminated them. I affixed this block on top of the stock table. I then built the table on top of that. This allowed for the crank handle to turn freely under the table top. It decreases the overall depth I can use, but I have never needed that much space. I am not near my shop right now. When I get back to it, I can take a photo and send it if you want.
That’s a cool idea!
Nice. Another suggestion - make the guides accept non-right angles to allow compound angles for stools etc.
So much fun to watch you create!
Awesome to hear!
I have the table from Feb '96 WOOD magazine on my floor model but I need this little jig too. Thanks again
Outstanding! Thank you! What a great jig!
Thanks so much!
Impressive, always impressive!!! ALWAYS!!!
Great idea. Thanks!
Another very useful jig and you always explain everything so well......thanks Tamar!

So glad you liked it. Thanks!
Great work, once again. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks!
Hi Tu-mar, well I've just turned the video on and it looks like my aging brain is going to be jiggered again.
Yep, 19 minutes and 41 seconds later and that's just about as jiggered as it has ever been.
To be honest, the shot that you had of the dowel insert after you set your drill at 20 deg. is similar to any dowel that I have inserted after drilling a hole free hand, which is far easier than your procedure, but then again, when this happens, I am usually attempting to achieve an upright 90 deg. finish, so I guess your process might have something going for it.
Finally, the shot of the back of your head at 19.41 seems to show another type of jig that holds your hair in place while you work on your other jigs, and it is a great relief for me to point out that this jig was much easier to understand.
Seriously, another good one Tamar, and if I watch it a few more times then I am sure that my grasp of the subject will improve, so please don't feel offended if so far, I have spent more time watching you than I have the manufacturing process.
Haha glad you liked it!
Super guter Job und erleichtert das Bohren von schrägen Löchern ,Greetings from Germany
Brilliant idea! Really nice design.
Glad you like it!
Thank you for sharing this great idea I will be adding one to my drill press cause yes you are right about trying to set the angle on the drill press a real pain in the butt. Keep up the great videos
Awesome! Hope it works out for you!
You have an awesome mind. Nice jig. Love ❤️ it
Supercool jig. Gonna make this one for sure!

Awesome jig - Thanks!
Thanks!
ANOTHER great one! You have a wonderful mind, Tamar!
Thanks so much!
Great design! I really enjoy your channel and seeing your solutions to problems. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome to hear!
Congratulations Tamar on achieving what I’ve always thought would be my lifelong goal, i.e. to have an article in Fine Woodworking! I have a machine (Jesse) just as the one you demonstrate in this video. I use it as a last resort because I fear it. Things have suddenly left my sight and wound up on the other side of the shop apparently without passing anything between. You are a video genius and seem to have brought into existence a new venue whereby beginners as well as the experienced can profit by the time spent watching. I love your energy. I have, indeed, completed two prototypical brandy cabinets that I call the TAMAR. One bottle, two snifters. CK
Hah thanks so much!!
Great idea well presented thank you.
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Tamar, I have a project coming up soon where this drill press jig will be a life saver. Perfect timing! Thanks!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful!
Great video, also liked your article in Fine Woodworking. Plan to make those to make those spacers for the router table fence. Now I have to make a tilting table for my drill press. Nice work, thank you!

Awesome as usual Tamara!
Thanks so much!
I’m new to woodworking and I’ve been racking my brain how to do angled mortise joints. I think this would work. Great idea Tamar!!!!!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful!
I love the jig. You seem to have quite a knack for these.
Thanks! It’s fun to figure out
Awesome build! I need to make this one.

The master of jig strikes again. Superb construction, well done and efficient.
Haha glad you like it!
Fantastic work, Tamar! Looks and works great! 😃
Brilliant idea!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much!
Great jig and video! Always enjoy you going thru what you are thinking. As to cutting off the arms because you will never need such an extreme angle... don't do it! I can easily see you doing a project that will need those angles! That being said, its your jig so have it! 😁 Really like how the jig clamps to the drillpress table👍 Again, great job!
Thanks! Ha! Yeah. Maybe I’ll keep them. You’re right. You never know…
Tamar, you are such an enjoyable presenter! You really know your stuff! Your communication shills are clear and efficient. Your designs are easy to understand. Only twice did I ask myself “what she doing this set for?” It became in just moments… a lead-in statement would have made it wordy or “talked down to”. I’m hooked on you videos! Thank you an please keep them coming.
So glad you like it!
